Northside Hospital of Atlanta Bariatric Center
I met Dr. Hart today for the first time. He made me feel very comfortable from the start with a little joke. I felt he was very knowledgable about the surgery. His office staff was very friendly and helpful also. What you should know when you go there- is to make sure you have written done your diet history and have your medical necessity letter. He did not emphasize after care. However, he did say to read this book and learn what to expect after the surgery. He also emphasized that you have to eat right.
I felt very confident with Dr. Daly. The staff there - namely - Carolyn - I can't say enough about. She is very patient and very helpful.
I have not met Dr. Champion yet. But I have emailed him. All I can say is any surgeon who can answer emails is a winner. I emailed Dr. Champion my concerns and questions and the very next day, I recieved a reply with all the answers to my question. Plus he has a very informative website. UPDATE HERE....UPDATE HERE....READ MY PROFILE FOR REASONS FOR DR. CHANGE. Dr. Williams is MY CHAMPION now!! :o)
I was origianlly scheduled with Champion, but could get surgery sooner and cheaper with his new partner, Williams. Also, Champion has done thousands of these surgeries and I fear may be getting a little sloppy -- just my personal parionia -- while Williams learned from Williams and is trying to build a reputation. At this point it would look very bad if Williams killed a patient. I figure he is trying harder to do a good job.
Williams was pleasant and patient with my interview of him about his professional experience and why he chose to do bariatric surgery. Had the right answers.
I was surprised to find that he is African American, I guess because I had seen a photo of Champion but not Williams. He's short and cute.
He was great about explaining everything, which I feel qualified to judge because I've done so much research on this surgery listening to him was more like a quizz of his knowledge. He knew everything.
I'll give a post-op review if I live. I'm in really good physical condition, so if I don't live he would have to be a pretty lousy surgeon. Will let you know.
Dr. Daly is the most kind person that I've ever known. He was very attentive and acts as though I'm the only person that he sees. Thank you God for Dr. Daly. His Staff (especially Angela) are the most kind and wonderful people. They cheer you on and help you to know just how great your life will be once you are healthy. Aftercare is explained in depth and structured down to the last scheduled meal of the day. Dr. Daly and his staff are extremely cooperative and hands-on. The risks of surgery are explained in depth as well as the benefits. Dr. Daly is making this whole scary procedure better for me and my family. Thank you Jesus for Dr. Daly.
DR HART AND HIS STAFF ARE THE BEST, MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF DR HART WAS THAT HE KNEW HIS STUFF. HE DIDN'T JUST THROW YOU IN A GROUP AND MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE YOU WERE A PART OF A ASSEMBLY LINE , HE WAS THERE TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS I HAD . HE OFFERED ME THE BOOK TO READ BEFORE HE PROCEEDED WITH HIS CONSULT TO MAKE SURE I UNDERSTOOD ABOUT THE DESCISION I MADE. I WOULD RECCOMMEND HIM OVER AND OVER AGAIN TO ANYONE.
I actually found Dr. Hart on this website. I was looking for surgeons in the Atlanta area. I read many, many posts from patients of other surgeons. Some sounded like their staff had dropped the ball on paperwork and insurance filing. A surgeon of course must be good, but his office staff can make or break him. Dr. Hart's patients all spoke highly of his staff, so I made an appointment with him. I had to wait nearly a month just for my initial appointment. I was impressed with his manner. He has done quite a number of these procedures and has never had a leak. While his staff has always been busy when I call, they still take time to answer my questions. I'm sure some of my questions they have heard a hundred times. At this point, I'm waiting for insurance approval. Once I have that, I'll be able to comfirm my date. I'm on Dr. Hart's calendar (in pencil). LOL
