When I met Dr. Coirin at pre-op appt. I knew at that moment he was my Dr. he is very soft spoken and sat down to answer all my questions. when I asked about patient success rate with lapband, he was quite honest and said he has some patients struggling with slow weight loss.rnI did have to request my pre-op with Dr. C to his staff, otherwise I would not have gone though the surgery without meeting him.rnDr. Coirin is awesome, I would recommend him toanyonernrnWow! new information Memorial ia now a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence rn4-2-2008

Dr. Coirin is the most caring doctor with an incredible bedside manner, which are two of the reasons I chose him! His expertise is amazing and I felt 100% comfortable with him from the first meeting!

I met Dr. Coirin briefly (for only a few seconds) just before surgery. My first impression was tall & confident. The next time was the day after surgery in my hospital room (again for only a few seconds). And the third and last time was the second day after surgery so I could be released (again for only a few seconds). I was given the opportunity to ask questions but really didn't have any. I felt that I was in good hands and trusted him. rnrnDr. Coirin's Physicians Assistant is extremely knowledgeable. rnrnMy only complaint within his office is with one specific person who handled my insurance submittal. I had to wait 3 weeks without a response from my Insurance Company before she would call to follow up. I finally called myself and was told they had never been received. It took another week or so for her to turn it in. She finally faxed it on a Friday and I was approved on Monday. I hate to complain and it is possible that she sent it but it wasn't received. The time between submitting all your required documentation until the time you receive word on whether or not you are approved is a very emotional time. I made sure that I was not a pest. My advice for anyone else who wants to know their status with the Insurance Company is to call them yourself. I should have done that after two weeks but didn't realize I could.rnrnDr. Coirin's & Dr. Coates' program is comprehensive. The aftercare is greatly emphasized with appropriate follow up classes & appointments. The risks of surgery were communicated throughout their entire program.rnrnOverall, since my surgery is successful so far post-op (1 week), I would rate Dr. Coirin very high. rnrnSurgical competence is definitely better but since Dr. Coirin's program includes so much education, it is wasn't that important that I got to know him much. If their program wasn't in place and so thorough, it would have made a huge difference.

My first impression of Dr. Coirin was that he was a gentle caring person. His office staff have been very helpful through this journey. I wish I could of met him before surgery, but hes a busy guy. He has a very good outlined aftercare program, that should be followed to the t. I think I trusted him, with my life, because of such a successful rate he has, and every physician that I told, said \"wow, you picked an excellent surgeon, he is a master at lap. surgeries.\" Just makes me feel better, and more at ease. Nice man.

My first impression of Dr. Coirin was he seems to be pretty laid back and funny. That was at the seminar I went to pre-op. The only other time i ever saw him was the morning of my surgery. I was the first patient of the day and he came in asked if there were any questions and such and was very focused. Then i think the best part was when i was being wheeled down to the operating room, i was greeted by everyone of the nurses and physicians at the door all smiles and truley seemed excited for me! His office staff is amazing i swear they work miricles!!!! The thing i liked the least about Dr. Coirin was i only saw him at the seminar and the hospital a little more one on one attention would have eased my nerves a bit more i think but he is an awesome doctor. Aftercare is a major part with him. Any question you have, support groups and post-op nutrician classes are a must!!! Im going to say all in all this whole experience has been 9 out of 10. Like i said i would have liked to see him more but i do trust in his ability him and his staff are sooooooo knowlegable and caring.

Me and my wife both had Dr Coirin as our surgeon. He did an awsome job with our surgery. He has a wonderful bedside manner. I would sugest him to anyone considering RNY surgery.

Dr. Coates seemed like a great surgeon at the seminar, fairly intelligent, but he wasn't the same in the hospital. I didn't get to meet him before my operation. I actually had to wait until my 4th day in the hospital before he could make time for me. Apparently, he nicked something while operating and it caused quite a bit of bleeding that lasted several days. It got so bad that I almost had to have a blood transfusion. I appreciate what the doc did for me and does for others, and everybody makes mistakes, and I lived...thanks to the hospital staff. I was ready to check out and go home and had to wait for him to come to my room before I could leave. He spent about 2-3 minutes with me, mostly looking at my bruises, and then \"poof\" he was gone. So far this hasn't been a very good experience for me at all.

Dr. Coates removed my gallbladder a few years ago. He was very nice and I lived! I figure he is very smart and very good at his job. No worries for that part.

I never seen my surgon until my day of discharge, and then that only about 2 min I've seen the physician assis Diane more. She is wonderful. Although Coates did an excellent surgery. Ill give him that. Surgical compentence is the best.

I haven't Personally met Dr. Coirin although, he was the one giving the seminar that I had the pleasure of attending. I also didn't get to meet him during my consultation but, I met his P.A. Daryl. He was very nice. The staff was pretty helpful especially, Sandy and Christie. Dr. Coirin seemed to be a very smart, calm, gentle-like man. To tell you the truth, it doesn't matter which doctor (Coates or Coirin)I choose as my surgeon, they're both very good at what they do. And, they take all the precautions to make sure that their patients have a good quality of life. I personally know some of their patients and their lives have been transformed for the better. I don't really have anything negative to say about their practice yet, (lol) except, I wish their time frames on certain things could be more solid. But then, I'm asking for perfection and we all know there is no such thing.rnrnTootles everyone!rnrn
