Central California Bariatric Surgery Bariatric Center
My surgery was on 08/05/08. I did not get a chance to meet Dr. Coirin until the morning of surgery, but had heard great things about him from many people as I work in the medical field. When he came to speak to my husband and myself before surgery we were both very impressed with his great bedside manner and soft-spoken nature. He put us both at ease. His office has set up a great protocol for gastric bypass surgery and they have been great to work although I did have to make frequent follow-up calls to make sure things were getting done. They are, however, very thorough and their patient care is wonderful. I also have to say that Memorial Medical Center staff are the best - their patient care is excellent. I have had a great experience so far with this life changing event and have already lost 30 lbs. I would recommend the gastric bypass procedure to anyone and I feel great.
I haven't met him yet. But I have met his partner Dr Coirin. rnThe staff that I have talked to are nice and well informed.rnBoth Dr's have just recieved thier COE certification.rnAt the siminar everything was explained in detail.rnI think I will be happy with Dr Coates and his staff.rnI know both surgeons are very busy and don't always get time to see their patients one on one until the day of surgery. I don't care for that idea but I do understand it.rn08/03/2008rnWell, I really liked my surgeon. Everything went very well.
I had my RNY on 06/05/2008. Dr. Coirin was my surgeon. I first heard him speak at the introductory seminar and I heard very positive comments about him. Other than speaking with him momentarily after the seminar, I never actually saw him again until just a few minutes before surgery. All of my other appointments at his office were with his nurses and P.A. They were great and answered all of my questions. So far, my recovery has been excellent, I feel really good, and I've been losing weight daily.
My surgeon was very nice and also very adiment at letting me know that this surgery is only a tool and not a fix and I have to stick to the book if I want it to be succesful for me. His italian accent was very calm and soothing. His staff is always great. It only took me 2 1/2 weeks for approval after they submitted the information for my TAR. The surgeon is wonderful. He has an awesome program starting with the seminar, then consultation, then pre-op class, then pre-op appointment, then post-op appointment, then post-op class and so on and so forth. He is very experienced and that is the main reason why I chose him and I would definitely refer anybody who was gonna have the surgery to him.
I have been a patient of Dr. Coates for nine monthes, and I have lost 100 lbs. I think he is a wonderful surgeon, and his staff are awesome, they are all very heploful with anything I needed prior to surgery and after as well. Y ou can always call and be met by a friendly voice.Anybody in the Modesto area thinking about Bariatric surgery, should give them call, it will be the start to your new life. He was very attentative in the hospital, and Dianne is very knowledgable if I ever have questions.
I didn't even SEE Dr. Coates at any point of my surgery or my stay in the hospital. I think that since he had my life in his hands that maybe he could have stopped by. Oh well, I'll take surgical compentence over bedside manner any day. Other than that, when I met him for 10 minutes at my first Pre-Op appt, he seemed nice enough. Good luck!
