Dr. Dan is awesome! He truely cares about the rest of your life. He took the time to talk to me and always eased my fears. He definately took the time to explain what procedure was right for me and why. He would never steer a patient in the wrong direction, he is very upfront and honest.He is also a very down to earth Doctor, he will laugh with you and hold your hand if you need it. He is young and really knows his stuff. He has completed hundreds of bariatric surgeries and is very knowledgeable. Go see Dr. Dan at Summa Bariatric Center in Akron Ohio

Hello, my name is LaTracia S. and I am a patient of Dr. Dan...I had my surgery 13 months ago and I have lost 108 lbs. to date. I am so excited about my weight loss!!! I can do things now that I could not do before. I feel like a brand new person!. Summa's Bariatric Center is an awesome place to have your surgery at. The entire staff is very caring and supportive of your needs. Dr. Dan is a great surgeon. He has taken very good care of me pre-op and post-op! I have also had the privilege of seeing Dr. Z on a visit, and he is just as caring as Dr. Dan. I highly recommend this center to anyone who is considering any level of weight loss surgery! You will be in great hands!!!
Dr. Z was a wonderful, skilled surgeon. He has a great sense of humor but is very professional. While in the hospital after surgery he never left before asking if there was anything he could do for me while he was there.
The program and office are very organized and structured. The pre-op classes are extensive. All of the staff are polite, professional and responsive. Their after care program is structured as well. There are support meetings each month that are open to everyone, patients, family and friends, post ops that did not have surgery at that hospital.
Dr. Dan is very caring, took time to answer any questions, and in my opinion was as thorough as could possibly be. The entire team at Summa Health System is very thorough and address every question every step of the way. They even sent me flowers in the hospital! I was fully prepared for my surgery and what would happen afterwards before I went in the hospital. The BEST surgeon and team anywhere!
Today I met w/ dr. Dan for my 18 mth. visit since my laproscoprc by-pass surgery. I've lost 137 lbs. thus far. For any one concidering surgery, I highly recommend it. I have to admit that I was nervous at first but it was the best thing I've ever done in my life, thanks to Dr. Dan. Not only has my health improved 100% but I look and feel like a million bucks! Thank you Dr. Dan and your highly qualified staff. Might I add his bed side manner and pleasant personality mad me feel really special, he truley cares for his patients needs.
I first met Dr. Dan 2 yrs. ago at my first Bariatric seminar. He was so knowledgeble and explained things so well, but it still took me another year to decide to have the surgery.
When I arrived for my first appointment, I was greeted by a very plesant and efficient staff. Everyone I encountered through my journey thus far has been wonderful.
Dr. Dan made me feel special and cared for both before and after my surgery. He eased the fear and provided me with such comfort that I never have had in my past.
I would recommend his expertise to anyone interested in Laroscopic Gastric Bypass Surgery.
Dr. Dan and the entire Summa Bariatric team are really wonderful. I was kept well informed as I began my journey. They provide you with very detailed but easily understandable documentation as well as make themselves readiily available to answer every possible question that you may think of. His bedside manner is superb. Know that when you chose him as your surgeon that you are getting one of the best and that he genuinely cares about your health throughout the process and afterwards.
The decision to have gastric bypass surgery was by far one of the scariest I've ever made. However, the process used by Dr. Dan and the Summa Bariatric Care Team includes an abundance of information, an openness to questions of any kind, and a genuine caring for the patient. All of this made the events leading up to, during and post-surgery far better than I had imagined it would be. I am now 6 months post-surgery, have lost about 90 pounds, and feel the best that I have felt in years. Definitely, one of the best decisions I've ever made.
My first impression of Dr Dan was wow he is an amzing doctor an he actually cares! :) Over time i just like him more an more! My surgery was Oct 18th 2011 an it went very well!!! My over all experience was great, i totally thought it was going to be way worse but thats just me i always expect they worse of everything!! He didnt suger coat nothing he lets you no everything.If u have a question he will awnser it!! I had the obsulte best care at the hospital during surgery bed side manner etc...I. so glad i did this an he has changed my life for the better!!
Dr. Dan, is a first class professional!! He and the entire staff at Summa Bariactic Center Akron, Ohio did a great job. I would recommend them to anyone for there weight loss journey.
Dr Dan made me feel so comfortable. He was friendly and professional at the same time from my very first visit through my surgery. He took the time to explain the procedure and answer all questions. I think the aftercare program is one of the best around. The staff at the Summa Bariatric Center is wonderful! I love the team of Doctors, Nurses and, other Specialists who work there. Every visit is such an uplifting experience. Also, the help they gave me concerning my insurance requirements and obtaining approval was very good. They walk you through every step. You never feel like you are alone in this process. I am so happy to have Dr Dan as my surgeon.
