Dr. Tyler Bedford, Bariatric Surgeon Tyler Bedford, MD is a board-certified general surgeon specializing in bariatric surgery at the Summa Health Weight Management Institute. He earned his medical degree from St. George's University School of Medicine in the West Indies on the Caribbean Island of Grenada. He went on to complete an internship at Northside Medical Center in Youngstown, Ohio and his general surgery residency at the Western Reserve Care System. He is fellowship trained in advanced laparoscopic and bariatric surgery at the Summa Health Akron City Hospital. Dr. Bedford is an associate fellow of the American College of Surgeons (ACS).
