Summa Health System Hospital
My first impression of Dr. Dan was that he was very friendly, I felt really comfortable talking to him. He seemed more like a friend, than just my doctor. I felt like he really understood my needs. The staff were very knowlegeable, helpful and accomodating. Future patients should feel confident that he is going to do what he says, and that he is definitely rooting for you. His aftercare program is stuctured. I am able to address any concerns or questions with him and his team. Having the surgery saved my life. I was more beneficial for me to have the surgery. He is an excellant doctor, and he gives 110 percent. His surgical competence and bedside manner were both great!!! Thanks so much Dr. Dan.rnrnCheryl Perry
I was very impressed with Dr.Dan. He's been very patient through this whole experience and has my best interest at heart. His office staff has been great too. I would certainly recommend anyone to go to him as he has been very truthful with me and has helped me set realistic goals. He has a great bedside manner and checked on me several times while I was in the hospital and even brought flowers! I strongly encourage anyone thinking of bariatric surgery to consult with thim as he will make the right decisions for you and your long-term health and well being.
Dr. Adrian Dan seems very young, but do not be fooled, he is a very qualified and excellent surgeon, who has a heart of gold. His staff is by far top notch, and on top of every detail, I did not have any problems getting information from them, and they held my had the entire way. rn Dr. Dan emphasizes aftercare, it is one of the most important things to think about wheather you can commit or not, if you want to have this surgery, and he makes no bones about that. rn Bottom line I highly recommend Dr. Adrian Dan, he is very caring, has the best bed side manner I have EVER, EVER seen. I will say that he gets very emotional about his job, you can tell that it is his passion and he loves what he does. Amy specific questions please feel free to send me a message, and I will try to help you out the best I can.
MY FIRST IMPRESSION WAS HE IS NICE AND STEARN AND HE RADIATES ENERGY AND IT SPREADS FROM ONE STAFF MEMBER TO THE NEXT.THE OFFICE STAFF ARE SO HELPFUL AND PROFESSIONAL. THE ONE THING I WOULD SAY ABOUT DR DAN DO NOT WAIST YOUR TIME OR HIS IF YOU ARE NOT READY TO LISTEN AND DEDICATE YOURSELF TO GOING ON THIS LIFE LONG JOURNEY.POST-OP IS WHEN YOU START FEEL THAT YOU ARE WORTH WHATEVER BECAUSE ALL THE STAFF HAVE ALL EYES ON YOU I REALLY FELT THAT I WAS THIER ONLY CONCERN.WHAT A GREAT FEELING.ALL I CAN SAY IS I HAVE A HIGH REGARD FOR THIS DOCTER AND HIS STAFF AND BELIEVE ME I KNOW ALOT OF DOCTERS IN THIS AREA AND DR.DAN IS #1
My first impression of Dr. Dan was that he was a very kind and caring person. Dr. Dan's abillity as a surgeon surpassed my expectations. His office staff is very knowledgeable and helpfull. I can not find anything to complain about. The after care is great. Anytime I have a question at a visit or in between has been addressed. I meet with Dr. Dan on a regular basis for aftercare to check weight loss and vitamin levels and any eating problems. Dr. Dan was very informative about the risk I had before surgery and did tests to make sure I was able to have surgery. My over all impression of Dr. Dan and his office is very possitive and I would recommend him and his staff to anyone seeking weight loss surgery. Dr. Dan is both an accomplished surgeon and a very good man.
I really liked Dr. Dan from the start. He is soft-spoken and yes he looks young but to me that was a plus. I figured he would be up-to-date with the surgery and the aftercare and how young can someone be after years of medical training? rnrnAll the office staff are very nice and very helpful. Most things are very organized and easy to follow, as far as appts and what the patient should be doing as far as tests and labwork, etc. Of course, as with any busy office I had to make a couple reminder calls. But with all the appts I had just a couple calls was not a big deal at all. rnrnAftercare program is structured and you are expected to follow it. They expect to treat you for life. It's a good feeling that I'm not going to just be dumped now that surgery is over. rnrnSometimes I do feel a little rushed when I meet with Dr. Dan. It is my only negative and honestly I feel like its because I can't get out what I want to ask. He always asks if I have questions and I can never seem to think fast enough. When I have had my questions ready in advance, I have been able to ask them and felt reassured with the answers.rnrnI highly recommend Dr. Dan as a surgeon. I felt completely confident with his surgical abilities. I was calm before surgery already but seeing him beforehand made me feel even better.
Bariatric Surgery rnrnI would like to take this opportunity to attest to my sincere appreciation and pleasure with Dr Adrian Dan and his staff at Akron City Hospital’s Center of Excellence for Bariatric Surgery.rnrnI elected to have Gastric By-pass Surgery about 9 months ago because have I tried for years to loose weight but when I got to 352 lbs I felt it was time to do something about it. I’m a diabetic and was up to very heavy doses of insulin (100 units of Lantus at bedtime and 60 units of Humalog at every meal) which ended up being approximately 400 units per day. It seemed like the more insulin I took the heavier I got and the heavier I got the more insulin I needed. Along with the diabetes I have Sleep Apnea, water retention, high cholesterol, restrictive lung disease. When I found out that Gastric bypass surgery would help all these medical problems I felt it was necessary to pursue this operation. rnrnIn searching for a facility to have this done I selected Akron City Hospital’s Center of Excellence for Bariatric Surgery and Dr Adrian Dan as the physician. This decision was the best I could have made. Dr. Dan and his staff was the most competent, professional, and caring group that I have had the pleasure of dealing with. I have three doctors and a councilor in the family and all were duly impressed with the service and the results.rnrnI am 1 week out of surgery and I am down to 10 units of Lantus per day and I am able to walk up to three miles day. I am very excited to have this opportunity to see my nine grandchildren grow up and if I would not have had this operation I do not believe I would have.rnrnHarold E. Cossrn
I was really impressed with Dr. Dan. He went over all the different options until I found the one best for me. His office staff kept me on schedule for all the testing required (there was alot) this isn't for the people unable to make a lifetime choice. His staff also helped me through the insurance approval & financing. I had classes on what to expect before & after surgery. Nutrition support was always available, they are still keeping up on all my blood work. I am now trying out a gym. They encouage exercise!! Now I feel that I can move well enough to workout. I have lost 60 pounds from my heaviest, I am now just three months out of surgery. Thumbs up for Dr. Dan. He is a ten in my book. He was very caring, but didn't sugar coat the facts. If I needed other surgery I would go back to Dr. Dan. He also removed my gallbadder back in December before my gastric bypass surgery on April 30, 2009.
My experience with the Summa Bariatric Center and Dr. Dan was wonderful. Dr. Dan took his time with me and answered all my questions. The surgery went without a hitch. The only problem I had was I almost got dehydrated. That was my fault for not drinking enough. I did call the answering service with issues and both Dr. Dan and Dr. Z were very caring and made sure that I was comfortable with the information they gave me. I am so glad that I had the surgery.
