Ascension St. Vincent - Carmel Bariatrics Hospital

Some of the nurses and student nurses were excellent and caring. However, one was like Nurse Ratched. My pain was only partially controlled. Poor communication between my surgeon and the nursing staff.

A wonderful place to go for this surgery.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Evanson. He is the best, most knowledgable doctor in the business. The thing I like most about him is his honesty, he doesn't pull any punches and tells it like it is, and I like that in a doctor. He is very caring and efficient and made my surgery on November 20 a complete success. I have already lost 65 lbs. and his support and mannerism have contributed greatly to my new \"self\". If you are thinking of having this surgery, choose Dr. Evanson, you will never regret it!

I believe this is my surgeon (guess I'll have to check with him). My surgeon said he had practised for years in FL and has been here in Indiana for a couple of years now. When I first met him he greeted me with a smile and a promise that he believed he could help me. This was the greatest thing he co foould have said because off all the surgeons and St Vincent Carmel (IN) Bariatric Surgery Hospital he was the only one who would do a RNY on a patient who was 65 or older. And I had was going to be 65 that July! So I feel that he's given me a gift of life! rnrnHis staff, both office and medical, are terrific. As a matter of fact the entire St Vincent Bariatric Hospital are so good that when you return you feel like they have missed you and are so happy to see your progress. I saw him 2 weeks after surgery for his initial check up; then about 2 months later at my request because of problems I had with keeping my food down; thought I might have a stricture. (I didn't; what did have was a problem with chewing meat and eating tooooo fast)rnrnWhile his bedside manner was very good, I appreciated his competence much more. I had a great surgury, stayed in the hospital 3 days, and went home with a Rx for pain which I never did take!rnrn

I never took the time to say anything about Dr. Evanson and I should of-especially since I was one of his first Band patients. He is an exceptional surgeon. You will not find a better surgeon in Indiana. Few people know that he is not only a Bariatric Surgeon, but he is also a Trauma surgeon. He loves his patients and he is good at his job. There are a couple of surgeons in this field that will fool you into thinking that they care about you, but trust me, it's all about the money. They will get you to their seminars and promise you the world, but after it is all said and done, your just a number. Dr. Evanson is about the patients. Once you get to know him, you will find he is dedicated to his work, which should let you know right there that he is dedicated to you and helping you reach your goal. I have lost 125 pounds in 4 years and I have kept it off thanks to a great surgeon and my willingness to finally want a new life. Thanks Dr. Evanson, you're the best!

dr evanson is a great doctor-

They have a beautiful campus in Carmel Indiana. The location is easily accessible and very well kept both inside and out. The nursing and support staff on the bariatrics unit are filled with the Holy Spirit, and this shows in the care and attention that they give each and every one of their patients. Some of the staff have even underwent WLS and truly understand how we feel and the struggles each of us have faced in our lives.

I was extremely impressed by their bariatric inpatient program. The nursing staff was caring and very professional. I could not have asked for better care.

dr diaz seems to be a very nice person . explained things in terms i could understand, took the tim eto answer all my questions. he is in Indiana now at St V's.
