Ascension St. Vincent - Carmel Bariatrics Hospital
He looked like he had just smoked a fatty to tell the truth and road in on the latest wave but once he started his 'talk' I was impressed and depressed. Completely impressed with him as a surgeon and as a person - I'd love to hang out with him to be honest and depressed because he is all of two years older than me and a freaking surgeon making tons of money off of me because I can't control what goes in my mouth. CRAZY.rnrnHe is very honest is his depiction of the consequences of surgery - the good, the bad and the horrible. He truly wants you to succeed and he won't take any chances with your life or your success.

At the pre-op seminar, Dr. Evanson was late because of an emergency surgery. When he did come in, I thought the he looked like a surfer \"dude.\" Not a bad impression, though. When he presented his part of the seminar, he didn't speak like a doctor. He got right down on our level and explained everything in our terms, no medical jargon. Dr. Evanson does strongly recommend WLS groups for before and after surgery. I think surgical competence is better than having a good bedside manner, but Dr. Evanson has both going for him. His office staff is great. They helped throught all the insurance requests.
Dr. Evanson is the best. From the first meeting to my 2 yr. check up he has always been there for me. No, not just for me but for my husband as well. He explains, shakes your hands, is only a phone call away if you get into trouble, he is awesome. His nursing staff and office manager are top notch. You have questions about medical, billing or just need some information they return your call the same day. Colleen the office manger is also available via email. I look forward to going to the office, Colleen is always waiting with a hug and encourgement. I have had two set backs, I call even on Sunday Dr. Evanson calls back within minutes. His support dietican staff is the same as Colleen, available via email, quick return time on emails and calls. Plus St. Vincents of Carmel is the best hospital I have been in. Even though it takes me 3 hours to get there, it is well worth it!

St. Vincents of Carmel, there are not enough words nor enough time to tell you how much I love it. I feel like I matter, I'm not just a number and they care. Before my surgery I had to take my niece there for trouble she was having after her surgery to the ER. They were awesome, understanding and listened to her on a very sensitive subject that she was afraid to talk about. They are AWESOME, AWESOME!
I have not yet had my surgery, but I have had my pre-op test, and they run like a well oiled mac. there!! Very organized! Everything in that hospital is for big people. Not just a few things! Everyone was very nice. and they did very well about explaining what they were doing, and what the test is done for. So far I give the hospital 2 thumbs up!!
First impression- she know's her stuff and is good about answering questions. I will let you know more after my surgery :)
