My first impression of Dr.Pohl was he was very business like.He kind of made me nervous. He likes to be make sure this is what you really want.He does not tell you it is an easy way to loose weight. I found overtime he is very honest, has a great sense of humor and the nurses think he is wonderful. This says a lot for a Dr. Dr. Pohl puts in a long day. He was in to see me at 6 a.m. everyday after surgery. He never made me feel like in was in a hurry. He answered any questions that I had.I was up the first night after surgery. I cannot say enough about DR.Pohl. He is very much into helping his pt.s There is a support group that he tells you about. He is aware of some of the web sites. He is a very caring person.

I am approved for surgery for April 4th..... My dealings with Dr. Pohl and his staff have been nothing but the highest of praises in every possible way! When meeting with Dr. Pohl, he made me feel very comfortable and answered all of my questions, without rushing me off. He also went into great detail about all of the risks involved. I chose Dr. Pohl because my private physician recommended him as well as my dentist (he had surgery himself with Dr. Pohl) but, after meeting him personally, not only does he have the great reputation, but his bedside manner is wonderful! He is very soft spoken yet he's so thorough in all of his explanations and diagrams that he uses. I need a doctor that I can talk with, not a doctor that is going to talk "to me", and I feel I found this in Dr. Pohl.

His staff is truly the best....they all work so hard to answer all of your questions. Carol, Lucy and Cheryl are always there when you need them, always!

I haven't had my date yet in the OR with Dr. Pohl, but I feel confident and extremely comfortable that it will be the "first day of the rest of my life", towards getting my life BACK, thanks to Dr. Pohl.....

My first exposure to this surgeon was reading all the excellent comments his patients have made within this website. I attended his seminar and found him to be knowledgable and personable. My first appointment with him is set for July 17th, 2006, hopefully something will open up before then.

I first met Dr. Pohl 3 years ago. I've met with him twice since then, and I like him just as much. Some doctors don't make much eye contact, but he does. There's a quiet, gentle nature about him. I didn't feel rushed at all and he took ample time to answer my questions. He explained everything in laymans terms...not some M.D. language that I couldn't understand. I completely put my trust in him...my life will be in his hands.

I really like Dr. Pohl because he is honest and right to the point. He doesn't sugar-coat things, he's very upfront when explaining things.
His office staff however, could stand to improve. You really have to stay on top of things that are left in their hands. You must do many follow-up calls to make sure insurnaces are contacted, test results are in, etc.
You should know that Dr. Pohl always puts the patients interest above anything else, and that he has the highest respect from every hospital employee that I came in contact with.
Aftercare is something you will have to make the effort to be involved in.

My first impression of Dr. Pohl was that I liked him right away. He was very straightforward but with humility. He explained all the risks of surgery with no joking around. He laid it on the line so when you do make the decision, you are fully informed of what you are embarking on. He has a great bedside manner which is very important to me. Since we will be seeing alot of each other, it is nice to feel you can communicate with him. His office staff is very nice and Elaine who does the billing is wonderful. He does stress the aftercare in his seminar and in the informational booklet you receive at the office. He tells you straight out that if you dont take your vitamins, you will do irreversible damage and could/will die. The support group is wonderful. I would rate Dr. Pohl as having great bedside manner as well as surgical competence, therefore, giving him a 10.

Dr. Pohl is a very caring, wonderful doctor! He has been up front with me on the whole aspect of the surgery including the fatality rate and answers all questions directly! When I was operated on he kept my family informed the whole time and visited me several times in my hospital room to keep up on any changes or developments. I still have appointments with him even after almost two years post operative. He checks my blood talks with me about nutrition and any other topics. He has a wonderful staff and an excellent bedside manner. He really does care for and about his patients! He will never realize how he is viewed in my eyes like almost a hero. I am so very pleased with him, the surgery, and my decision to have it!

I felt everyone was wonderful to me. The only problem was being woken up every couple of hours. But I guess that is normal.
