A few things that annoyed me to no end:

1. Every hour a nurse is bothering you while sleeping to take your vital signs or to inject you in the stomach with a needle or something. I was woken up every hour by the nurses staff. I would have preferred that they make me rest so I can recover.

2. I had a nice lady in my room but her IV machine kept on going off. The nurse staff took about 25-30 minutes to come & turn it off. Oh my god. How annoying.

3. Everytime I called that I needed help to go to the restroom, it took the staff forever & a day to get to me. I timed them once & it took them a half hour to come from my first request.

The Staff was great!!!
My biggest complaint was the old TV remote control. The TV button was too close to the nurse call button. I couldn't appologize enough for ringing the nurse when all I wanted to do was change the TV channel.
The nurses were taking care of a lot of people, so I also made sure that I called the nurse way ahead of when I needed to use the bathroom. This gave the nurse time to come in and get me out of my pressure boots. And also time for me to hobble to the bathroom. No accidents here.. :-)

This hospital was terrible. The staff was awful in responding to the call button. At one point a waited over 45minutes for pain medication and was forced to get out of bed and go to the nurses station at 530 in the morning to get my meds. I will NEVER go there or recommend this hospital to anyone!

I liked the hospital but sharing a room with another person was horrible ecspecially since the bathroom was on my side of the room

I thought that the nursing staff was excellent. They met all of my neds. But, where cleanliness in the hallways, parking for visitors and security on the building was concerned, I was not happy. Anyone could walk into this hospital and cause havic. No security what so ever (that I saw anyway).

My surgery was in 2003, I've heard improvements have been made for bariatric patients since then.

The only reason I rated restful and privacy as average was because my roommate was very ill (not a WLS patient) and she had all kinds of medical people in and out at all hours and therefore I got no rest the first night. Had my bed been by the bathroom I would have gotten more privacy...but that's how it goes. I was very pleased with the care I recieved
