Little Company of Mary (COE) Hospital
Dr. Cahill was extremely professional. When I went for my consultation, I had prepared a list of questions. By the end of my visit, he had answered each and every one. I am just over 1 year post-op now and this doctor never ceases to amaze me. Follow up care is wonderful and he keeps a close eye on your progress. There is nothing negative I can say about him or his staff. Everyone who works with Dr. Cahill is nothing less than wonderful.
My first impression of Doctor G. Cahill, (Little Company of Mary Hosp. in Evergreen Park)was, wow he answered all of my questions before I asked him anything. He is very honest and does not sugar coat anything. I have to admit that I was a little upset about the negative things about the surgery for me. But after thinking about it, I felt that he really cared about my health and wanted me to understand the risk associated with the surgery and without the surgery. So if you don't like hearing the truth, I suggest not seeing him. He makes sure that you have the very best specialist for any health issues that are of major concern. He also will not agree to anything until the green light has been given by all the specialist involved in your particular situation. In my particular case, he said that I had to jump though hoops before giving me a scheduled date.
Doctor Cahill's staff is wonderful. Donna, Tiffany and Tony are always available for any questions/concerns that you may have. I love those chairs in the waiting area...the whole place is very comfortable and accommodating.
Overall, I will rate Dr. Cahill, his staff and the specialist that he referred me to a perfect 10. Everyone, that I have met has been knowledgeable, caring, and friendly.
Thank you Dr. Cahill for working with me for this life changing event.
the doctor was great very honest whats you to be well informed and ask questions.
the office people are always trying to get your approval best bet try to help the office by finding oout about your insurance and what your policy covers
Dr. Cahill is very strong on aftercare you have to be seriuos about a life long change and have to br proactive in your own recoveryand follow the aftercare program.
the doctor is very open about what comes along with the surgery benefits and risks
i am glad i found Dr. Cahill i am not worried about surgery I feel i am in wonderful hands he cares about his patients
Dr. Cayhill and his staff are wonderful. He does the surgery out of Little company of Mary in Evergreen Park Illinois. They tend to you they do all kind of preop tasted they make sure before you have the surgery that you are in tip top shape. When I went to see him for the first time, I was wasn't mentally prepared for none of this, but believe me after I talked to him, and I saw all the testing he did for me, and the groups meeting that I went to and met with all his staff from his nurse, coordinator, nutrionist, and his assistant that helps with all the insurance information i was more mentally prepared than I would have ever been. He is such a sweet person and he will tell you like it is, he explains to you anything you ask or you will like to know. I couldn't be more happy and glad that I went to him to have my surgery done. The best thing about all of this is that it is being done at a hospital and none the least to say about the hospital staff at Little Company of Mary they are well trained staff for Gastricbypass Surgery patient and they are fantastic. If I had to do it again I would go with them in a heart beat. The best of it all, you can email them for anything you need and they would answer you right away. They will work as hard as they could with your insurance to try to get you approved(Donna is great). Their aftercare program is marvelous, they have support groups the first Wednesday of every month, Tony,Tiffany, and his nutritionist Lisa, are always there for you when ever you have a question, or if you don't feel good their support is great believe me I know. Overall if I have to rate Midwest Bariatric from 1 to 10 I would rate them an 11!!! They are great!!!
I can't say nothing negative about them because I did not have any bad experience with them.
The only negative about the surgery when I had it is that since I had Open Surgery which is not laporscopic I had to wait for 2 days for icechips or water my mouth was so dry that it hurt, but they advice you to take chapstick. That is the only thing that I have to say that was on the negative side.
My first impression of Dr. Cahill he is awesome. He made me feel extremely comfortable and his record was perfect. The staff Donna,Tony, Lisa and Tiffany are great if you ever have a problem someone is always there to assist you. If you want a caring Doctor whom is very personal and concerned Cahill is the one. Dr. Cahill has one of the best aftercare program and if you follow his program you will loose a significant amount of weight. Since my surgery I have recommended 4 other people to go see him and they have all started the process of allowing him to do there surgery, every one of them Thanked me for sharing him with them.
Dr Cahill and his staff are excellent,He is very informative and cautious.I immediately felt comfortable with his entire staff.I cannot say enough about Tony,Donna and Tiffany. they are the best.the aftercare program is very helpful,Tony is always there for you anytime.I would Highly recommend Dr Cahill and his staff to anyone considering this surgery.they truly care.
He was easy to talk to and very informative. He let me know what I can expect from the surgery and answered any questions I have. His office staff is very knowledgable. He did address the risks surgery and also let me now that he has a no mortality rate, that is, he has never lost a patient and has had only 1 patient with complictions who is doing well today. What I found very helpful is that the Midwest Barictric Institute has started a weight management program in dealing with insurance issues regarding the supervised diet. Now you can attend support group meeting and go thru counseling sessions in which the medical officials will document your progress in diet and excercise.
I new as soon as I met Dr. Cahill that he would be the one to do my sugery. He was very straight forward and to the point. I thought his office staff was very nice and professional. There is really nothing that I could say bad about him. The aftercare program is great. I enjoy going to the monthly meetings and seeing the great progress that everyone is making. Over all I feel that Dr Cahill is a very good Dr. If I had to do it all over again I would go back to him.
Well lets start from the beginning. I went to UIC first in June 2003 and went thru testing but my insurance company denied me. I fell into a deep depression. I have a friend Linda who wanted to have the surgery too so I went to the internet and just out in gastric by pass and I wanted a doctor close to I could keep all my commitments for the surgery. So I had e-mailed Tony Dr. Cahills assistant HELP he e-mailed a couple of days later and told me to call and make an appointment and I will have the surgery and that is what he said after I gave him my info. I saw Dr Cahill in August and the first appointment was scary but Dr made me fell relaxed he explained everything and said I was a good candidate I told him about the denial from bc/bs ppo he said I would have the surgery. Well after receiving a denial about 4 weeks later. I called Donna at Dr Cahill's office and she don't worry she would help me in any way and that she did. I slipped into a major depression thinking someone didn't want me to get healthy. So I night I typed out a 3 page appeal and mailed it the nest day. No response for a while I called everyday asking was it reversed (the appeal) they said no,no and no. But on 12-23-03 I called and the lady at bc/bs ppo said as of just 20 minutes ago the appeal was reversed and I was granted approval. I was so nervous I called 1 hour later and asked for them to read that to me again. I immediatly called Dr Cahill's office his staff was just as excited as me and very helpful with everything I informed them and then we set a date of 12-20-03. The testing started and I was ready. Nervous but so very excited and what helped was my family now realized I was serious to lose the weight and would support me. I can say Dr Cahill and his staff and associates are the BEST. They made my anticipation of surgery relaxing and very very informative. When ever I had questions I usually got an immediate answer. DR CAHILL AND STAFF AND ASSOCIATES ARE THE VERY BEST. THANK YOU ALL AT MIDWEST BARIATRIC...
