Little Company of Mary (COE) Hospital
My first impression of Dr. Cahill was good. But I was skeptical at first. Overtime my impression had changed for the better because he was so helpful with any questions that I had. I spoke with him about 10 questions that I felt to be very important pertaining to the surgery. His response to the questions were very informative in my decision to pursue wls furthur. Dr. Cahill was very honest with me and he discussed everything that could happen during both short and long term outcome of the sugery. His office assistant Donna and Tony the RN were both woderful during the entire process. On a scale of 1-10 for Dr. Cahill, his staff and the entire process I have to say "A strong 9."
Dr. Cahill is one of the most professional and nicest weight loss surgeon I have ever talked to. I expected him to look at me as "just another fat person" but he has such sincerity in his conversations and explanations and no question is too "stupid". I have referred his services to my best friend and we share the same feelings about his demeanor. His office assistant Donna is very nice and persistent. After my first initial visit I was told to contact Donna a week later to find out if the insurance had approved me for surgery, and to my surprise she contacted me 3 days later to tell me that I was approved. She has helped me in every way to set up appointments for the pulmonologist and ultrasound techs in the fastest manner that I could have expected. I am really grateful for such good teamwork between the doctor and staff that I have chosen.
My first impression of Dr. Cahill is that he is a no non-sense type of person, highly professional, yet gentle and caring. He took the time to explain the procedure to me, while steering me to the procedure that he thought would benefit me the most.
His staff was great and extremely accommodating.
The literature that Dr. Cahill gives his first-time patients is priceless.
He does thoroughly discuss the risks of surgery as well as the prerequisites of the surgery.
Overall, on a scall of 1-10, I give Dr. Cahill and his staff a 10. It truly makes a difference to find a doctor where you feel that you have an identity, and are not "just another case."
He is very friendly and very informative. He is respectful of fears and questions. He speaks to you, the patient, as a human, not as a potential dollar sign. I have had nothing but good vibes from him from start to post-op, thus far.
Dr Cahill's office staff is friendly and helpful. They are very busy, so they're aren't going to be my best friend, but they good at their jobs, and this is the important thing.
Aftercare is so important. There is a dietary staff on hand for all of my calls. They call me weekly, to tell me what's next on what to add to my diet. There is a psychaitrist on hand for any calls. I'll have monthly appointments with Dr Cahill for the next year, to make sure I'm doing alright.
Dr Cahill and my entire staff that worked with me, made sure I understood what I was about to do and the risks involved.
Dr Cahill's surgical competence AND bedside manner were both wonderful. In fact, they were impressive. It's hard to find competance and warmth these days.
I have had a genuinely terrific experience so far. As of today, I'm 3 weeks post-op and very happy with my decision.
My first impression of Dr. Cahill was good, and over time it did not change. Dr. Cahill's staff are very knowledge about the surgery. They handled all of my problems and needs, I didn't have to worry about anything. Dr. Cahill's office has a big emphasizes on aftercare and the aftercare program is very structured. Dr. Cahill's and his staff addressed all the risks of surgery and took all the precautionary measures. Overall on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the highest, I would rate Dr. Cahill as a 9. Both Surgical competence and bedside manner are essential to any surgery.
MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF DR. CAHILL WAS OK, I HAPPEN TO REMEMBER HIM IN THE PAST From PERFORMING AN UNRELATED SURGERY ON A FAMILY MEMBER. WHEN I WAS JUST RE-ACQUAINTED WITH DR. CAHILL MY FIRST IMPRESSION WAS "I WISH HE WOULD HURRY UP", GO OVER MY PAPER WORK AND GIVE ME A DATE BECAUSE I HAD ALREADY BEEN THRU A CONSULTATION WITH THE DOCTORS AT THE WISH CENTER, and had recieved approval but my ppo provider advised me to find a doctor in my network because it would be alot cheaper. Dr. Cahill was good and his staff is wonderful as well.what i like about Dr. Cahill most is the fact that he performs the cosmetic surgery as well after one reaches their 2 year weight loss goal.I think Dr. Cahill seems very proud of his success rate that he has had performing the surgeries, and because of past family dealings with him i know he has a good bedside manner.Dr. Cahill was also very upfront about the risks of the surgery as well.
Initially, Dr. Cahill seemed very business like and not approachable.
This impression changed almost immediately since he spent a long time talking with me during my initial visit. His manner is reassuring and he means what he says. He is available and he LISTENS.
Donna, his secretary, was very helpful with insurance issues as well as providing paperwork for my job. She readily did anything I needed. Besides, she fishes and tells a good story about it.
I have no dislikes about Dr. Cahill or his staff.
Any future patients should know that Dr. Cahill believes in a careful approach to surgery. He requires all prospective patients attend at least two pre-op seminars. Any questions can be addressed and I learned all about the surgical process then.
Aftercare is stressed. Tony, the surgical nurse and program coordinator maintains contact with you as does Lisa, the nutritionist. Both of them meet with the patient a week or so after surgery to check on you and to set you up with a proper diet. Lisa calls to check with you to tell you what foods you should be eating during your recovery and she answers and questions you may have. Both Tony and Lisa attend the monthly support group meetings as well.
The risks of surgery were thorougly explained by Dr. Cahill and his associates.
I have recommended Dr. Cahill to others and I would rate him high though I really have no basis of comparison. I do know that I felt that I was being treated by a competent, talented doctor.
Of course, surgical competence is important and bedside manner is nice but I would opt for competence any day.
