After the surgery, I was stuck in in the recovery room for the first night. Shortage of beds is what they told me. Visiting time in the recovery room is very limited, so that wasn't a pleasant experience. Once I got my room, every thing else was great

Hackensack was great. The nurses were nice (except in recovery).

This hospital was extremely clean and almost had a hotel feel. It was a very relaxing atmosphere.

This hospital was excellent. They made me feel very comfortable-everyone was so wonderful-from the minute I walked in to the minute I left.

I just wanted to share that I made a phone call to the admissions portion of the facility about the 15K some of you have heard is required up front.. I spoke to a Diane Thomas, a supervisor there, I was TOLD the requirement is only for certian laporscopic procedures, not all gastric by-pass services..
051703.. This was the best place I could have been.. The nurses on 3 PAV W were outstanding.. The staff on the floor did everything to encourage me to move and improve but were there for ANY questions I had!!

Everything went smoothly EXCEPT that my surgery was finished early, by 8:30am & I wasn't given a room untill almost 8:30pm so I was laying in recovery for a long time. Not bad for me because I was knocked out most of the time-but a bit rougher for my hubby who wanted to stay by my side.

There were nurses who had the surgery already and they were very supportive and role models for going forward

It was easily ascernible that there is a nursing shortage at this hospital. The day nurses were fine, but the night nurses were understaffed.
