Dr. Dyer has been great! He is very professional and kind. He doesn't sugarcoat anything; which I prefer. He is a supportive doctor and his staff is top notch. I would recommend anybody who is going to have this surgery to definately see Dr. Dyer. His office works closely with a very structured aftercare program that he strongly encourages. I have yet to attend any of these programs, so I cannot speak for them. rnDr. Dyer was very clear and consitant about the risks of surgery, he took extra care to ensure that I was aware of everything that could possibly happen. I don't think that I could rate Dr. Dyer but I will tell you that I wouldn't go to any other surgeon for anything if I didn't have to. There is not anything that I have come across that he has not been absolutely great about!
Dr Dyer is great, very friendly and forthcoming. He just says it like it is. He has helped a lot of family, with my aunt/grandmother's breast cancer and my cousin's weight loss surgery 5 yrs ago and now mine on 9/20-down 15 lbs already 10/11.rnHe stresses aftercare and how important support groups are to you and your future success.rnRobin in the office is very helpful.
My first impression of Dr. Dyer was that he was to the point and made sure that this surgery was right for me. He is a great person and a great surgeon. He answer all my questions that I had was very patience with me. I would recommended Dr Dyer to anyone to wants to feel relax and confident that they are making the right choice for themselves. He very very emphasize on aftercare, and it is very important to anyone who has this surgery. Aftercare is just another tool of losing the weight. The aftercare program is the best thing you can have after having surgery it is a very very must thing. Dr. Dyer discussed all the risk with me before surgery and the risk after surgery. Show me pictures of what was going happen, how he is going to do it and always ask me if I had any question. Made it clear that I knew what was going to happen. You can never ask him to many question that he will not be willing to answer every question you have. Dr. Dyer is a outstanding person and surgery. Most doctors are in and out when go to the doctor, not Dr Dyer. Dr Dyer took the time with me while in the hospital and all the visit to his office to answer all my questions and conserns if I had any. Dr Dyer is a great surgery and his beside manner is excellant. I could not have prayed for a better person to take me on my journey!
My first impression of Dr Dyer was very proffesional and at the same time very caring,good bed side manner even for a surgeon! rnFrom day one till now which is 1 month out my impression hasn't changed, if anything I have grown to really respect Dr Dyer based on talking to other patients and also talking to other patients who did not see Dr Dyer or the other Dr's in the practice. Ive heard horror stories and I've heard stories of Dr\"s not doing a good follow up and teaching the patients correctly on there new life changing proceedure.rnDr Dyers staff is fantastic they all have gone above and beyond for me. My first day ther i was very nervouse and Joanna made me feel right at home and took all my anxiety away she was extremley pleasent.rnDr Dyers after care program is very well thought out it covers evey area of wieght loss such as dietician,exersise therapyst,weekly support groups(on-line or in person)and even a psycologist.rnDr dyer was very to the point about the risks of surgery. He explained every risk in great detail and answered every question I had.rnI would rate Dr dyer and his staff 10 out of 10 that is the Gods honest truth!!!!!rnWhen looking for a Dr surgical competence is always first priority of course. how ever when you get a surgeon with surgical competence and bedside manner it always a bonus,and thats what you get when you sign on with DR DYER!!!!!!!!rnrnChristopher J Watkins [email protected]
I had to switch surgeons after I was approved due to a problem with insurance coverage. I was very pleased with the program at Centennial and wanted to stay with that group, so I transferred from Dr. Houston to Dr. Dyer. What a delightful man he has been up to this point. Very thorough, caring, and professional. I feel that the switch happened for a reason and although I had to delay my surgery a few weeks, I feel like God led me to this surgeon and I trust my future to him.
9/27/06-2 wks. post oprnOnce again I would like to thank Dr. Dyer, his staff, Cenntenial Women's Hospital for the excellent care, concern, and overall treatment through my new found journey that I am just beginning...I highly reccomend Dr. Dyer and his staff to anyone in need of wls help. I was very impressed with Dr Dyer from the very beginning. I first met him at the seminar I attended. He presented the information well, he was very informative, and also very patient with all of our questions and concerns. rn At my consultation, Dr Dyer spent every moment attentive to my questions and concerns. I did not feel rushed nor did I feel uncomfortable. He did not hold back explaining anything to me. He told me that having surgery is only a tool, that success was depending on me. I knew I could do it with his support. rn After making my decision to have surgery, I knew that I had made the right choice... not only to have surgery, but I had picked the best surgeon for the job. Dr Dyer is caring, compassionate, and very encouraging. His staff is just one more reason I am glad I chose him; The staff is wonderful! They are friendly, always smiling, and very helpful! If I had to rate Dr Dyer and his staff, I would give them three thumbs up!
I MET DR. DYER AT A SEMINAR THEN I ACTUALLY PICKED HIM AND HAD AN SURGERY CONSULT. HE EXPLAINED EVERYTHING VERY PLAIN TO ME AND IF I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND HE WOULD MAKE SURE THAT I DID. HE SPENT ALMOST 2 HOURS WITH ME DURING MY SURGERY CONSULT. THE OFFICE STAFF IS VERY HELPFUL AND WILLING TO HELP YOU FOLLOW THE STEPS THAT YOU NEED TO MAKE. DR. DYER EMPHASIZES AFTERCARE 100% . I AM NOT AT THAT STAGE YET BUT HOPEFULLY IT WILL BE SOON. I WILL LET YOU KNOW MORE AFTER MY SURGERY.
My name is Thelma Dailey and I first saw and heard Dr. Doug Olsen at the seminar at Centennial Hospital. He was very articulate about the surgery and gave plenty of information to let me know that there were some serious risks in having it done. I thought he seemed so serious that he would be hard to talk to. As I got to see be around him more I realized that he just takes his job seriously and I am glad that he does! The staff in his office were always so sweet and concerned for me and my surgery. They never made me feel like I was awful to let myself gain that much weight, which was what I dreaded because I figured they might. Also, at the hospital they treated me like I was \"somebody\". Just know that Dr. Olsen very much wants the very best for you and I believe he did the very best surgery for me that anyone could. His after care is wonderful he had my best health in mind always. His aftercare program is the best. My home doctor recommended Dr. Olsen for that reason. I have lost 140 pounds. It has been two years since I had my surgery! I feel great. I know that I have a new lease on life and will see my dreams and visions accomplished after all! I feel like I was in safe hands with Dr. Olsen doing my surgery(gastric bypass surgery). I recommend Dr. Doug Olsen to everyone I talk to that is considering this type of surgery. It might not be for everyone and I believe that Dr. Olsen would be the first one to tell you if it is right for you or not. Just listen to him and do your part of the before and after surgery and you will do great. I have done great and am feeling so much better than I have done in many, many years.
