Blodgett Campus Hospital
The care in the bariatric center was top notch. When I went back for complications, I was placed in another ward where the staff were not educated in the care of bariatric patients. I was constantly educating the staff about food and liquid needs for the bariatric patient and the food from the kitchen was awful! Getting ice and water seemed to be a constant chore. When one is sick, I would think that the minimum one could do is keep ice water available for the patient, especially if the patient can not walk without passing out. The staff was very good about explaining the procedures and the medication and IVs they were using. This helped with the discomfort normally accompanying an IV. Knowledge is power :)
The nurses were first rate, everyone was helpful. They closed the door for me when they realized I wasn't sleeping well from hall noise. I did have a couple of waits when calling for the IV bag to be changed, but there were also a lot of patients there that day! The alarm on the IV made the wait seem really long because it kept ringing and ringing.
The nurses were great and very helpfull
