I felt comfort. He was serious about what was going on but made you feel safe and secure. The staff was wonderful through the whole process. I know I probably ask some silly question but they understood and didn't make fun. He didn't have time to spend with me one on one. That he is a man that loves him job and make sure that we know what we are getting into. He make sure he tells you that it is important to stay in contact with his office as well as our primary doctor. Yes, He has a excellent aftercare program and if you live to far away to attend the health gym he encourage you to start one of your own and don't forget the supplements. He address the risks of surgery at all times. If you drink or smoke you need to quit. began walking before surgery, what you need to eat and don't. I would rate Dr. Ducan and his team A plus. They have it all.
My first impression of Dr. Titus Duncan was excellent. He is a wonderful doctor. I highly reccommend him to others searching for a surgeon in Atlanta, Georgia. His office staff is very helpful, especially Yakima Douglas. She really worked very closely with me to take care of everything I needed in regards to my procedure. Dr. Duncan is serious about his aftercare that he only schedules a few surgeries at a time. Maybe two a week. His surgical knowledge is excellent and he also trains others to perform this procedure. He explained all the pros and cons throughly. My overall rating of this surgeon is a overwhelming A+. This was my experience and I can only speak for myself. I must say that you will have to be the judge for yourself. Now, I must say that some of his staff is not so friendly, but the majority were pretty nice. Also Dr. Duncan made it clear that, he may or may not be the one doing my surgery. But his team, like him, are completely knowledgeable of this procedure and can perform it equally as well as if he would. So be prepared to not see Dr. Duncan again after the inital information seminar, that he does require you to attend and there is no getting around it. Smile..............
Dr. Duncan was very pleasant when I met him, although, I only saw him twice during the whole process. His staff is very pleasant and helpful. The only thing I didnt like was not having a one-on-one meeting with Dr. Duncan but his other on-staff surgeons were more than helpful with providing all the risks of the surgery and a structured aftercare program as well.
Both surgical competence and bedside manner were great.
My first impression of Dr Duncan was that he has a great since of humor and is VERY passionate about his work. His office staff is wonderful. They have been nothing but nice and very helpful to me. I didnt at all feel uncomfortable with them when they were getting my weight and measurements as I do with any other doctors! They are ver considerate. The only thing I dont like about Dr Duncan is that i havent gotten to speak with him or see him since the seminar. I have had to deal with his assistant surgeons. But I know that he is a very popular surgeon in the atlanta are and is a VERY busy man. His team stresses to you ALL the risk that come along with not only this procedure but any other surgical procedure. They do require you to lose 15-20lbs before surgery. And if you are a smoker you must quit. Smoking causes bad tissue which leads to unneccesary complications. I know that when I have surgery, I am in great hands!
My first impression of Titus Duncan is "SMART,AMUSING AND HAS TO BE EXCEEDINGLY rich".I have the up most respect for him and his staff.I started the process around nov of 2003,I paced myself with the nutritionist and the psychological eval. When all this was done it took a matter of less than four days for the Ins. to approve the surgery.I was so shocked!!! Joyce called early in the morning and told me that my surgery date is July 12,I couldn't believe what I was hearing, my husband and kids thought for sure something tragic had happen b/c I was yelling and crying in happiness.I am very concern about what is going to happen the days before and after the surgery. All I know is I am ready to get my life back, and to be heathly and happy. For all those that has not be approved yet, keep trying don't stop.
At this point I have only had distant contact with Dr. Duncan. When I had my first meeting with "the surgeon" it was one of his associates. Although, this does not bother me. From what I have read and observed Dr. Duncan is a very intelligent man, who really cares about helping overweight people get through their struggle, he is very respected, and certainly knows what he is doing!
His staff has been very kind, and competent. They are not the quickest at getting back to you, and I would suggest pestering them until they know your name! I don't think this is unusual, they have many patients, and it is a thriving practice...
