WELL I MET WITH DR. ROSSI AND HE IS WONDERFUL VERY INFORMATIVE AND ANWSERED ALL OF MY QUESTION'S REGARDING THE LAP BANDING. HE IS GREAT AND MADE ME FEEL LIKE AND A PERSON AND DID NOT TREAT ME ANY DIFFRENT FORM ANY ONE ELES. ONCE AGAIN HE IS WONDERFUL, I CAN NOT BE MORE HAPPY THEN WHAT I AM. DEC 20TH 2002, WENT TO SEE DR. ROSSI TODAY HE IS GREAT MY SURGERY IS PLANNED FOR FEBURAY 2003 I AM SO EXCITED IT IS FINALLY HAPPING AND HE IS WONDERFUL. I JUST LOVE HIM I HAVE COMPLETE FAITH IN HIM.
Dr. Rossi is a very nice man. Doesn't waste anytime getting to the point. Believes in this surgery as a life saver not to make you a model. He made it very clear that the surgery was a last resort and that my life would be tremendously better after surgery. I should be off all meds. by the 8th month. Sounds great to me. His staff is great, very friendly, caring and they made me feel comfortable. The only thing was that the meeting was kind of rushed, but I will seem him again in 2 weeks to go over the final things. On a scale of 1-10, he'd be a 9.
My first impressions of Dr. Rossi were that he was friendly, very informative and willing to take the time to answer any questions i had. He explained both the risks and the benefits of this surgery and the differences between lap and open rny surgery. He told me I would be having it done lap. I am now just waiting to hear back from his office with a surgery date. They said it may be up to 2 weeks before they call me back. If I had anything negative to say about my visit it would be the fact that after waiting weeks for myy appt., going in with all my information and insurance approval it will still be another 2 weeks before they call me back.
Not sure yet which surgeon I will get but am changing to definetly go through the Peoria Surgical Center at St. Francis Hospital. I like the way they do things so far and my mom is having her surgery there next week (April 25, 2002). I have my education classes May 6, 2002 and my surgeon visit on May 7, 2002. Then psych evaluation and schedule the date (providing insurance approves)!!
5-7-02 Well, I went for the education and support group last night and it was great. Got to meet Dr. Rossi today and liked him a lot. He's very personable and funny and knowledgable. He believes I can have my surgery lap and is confident he can handle my calcium problems. I cannot wait to get this ball rolling!
Dr. Rossi was professional, kind, intellegent, and compassionate. He gave me so much hope.
The information packet he distributed was very dated, seven years old - the information was different than procedure he is doing now.
The phone call, from the staff to tell me of the denial, was cold and lacked info.
I did get later phone calls that were only minorly helpful.
Dr. Rossi told me he had just completed a case using the same insurance company....I never dreamed I would be denied coverage.
I am not giving up hope or on Dr. Rossi. He came recommended very highly.
