7-13-07rnHave my first visit with Dr. Rossi today. He seems really nice and has a great bedside manner. He talked super fast and I was afraid the my mom wasn't able to keep up, but she was fine. He basically told me everything I already knew and asked if I had any questions. I only had a few and he answered them great.

Dr Rossi was my surgion on September 4th 2003 I was his 11th lap band patient. he was very informative when my husband and i went in to see him for our inicial visit. After the surgery i lost 40n pounds but had complications and had to have surgery in the mean time i had lost my mom and job leaving me with no insurance dr rossi could have turned his back on me like some drs have done but he still took care of me and that showed me how much he truely cares about his patients i was very touched at how much he cares and how good the quality of care he and Melinda give every patient that enter the office i am three years out now and have gone up and down but have still managed to lose quite abit of weight and look like a whole new person thanks so much to Dr Rossi and Melinda Cindy in Bloomington Il I agree the receptionist leaves a little bit to be desired in the friendlyness department and some times the fills on the lapband can be a little bit painful but you get used to them if you can prepare your self ahead of time

Dr. T. Rossi is a great person he is very caring and understanding of your concerns. The staff is very helpful. My favorit one pr=erson is got to be Erin Lard. He has a very structured aftercare program you can call them 24\7. I would rate his office and all to be a BIG 10 on a list of 1-10.His surgucal competence and his bedside manner is AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!

He seemed like such a nice man. It helped for me to know that he is a church going man. My impression has only gotten better. This man gave me my life back and he is my hero. He is competent and has a great bedside manner. He has officially labeled me a 'support group fanatic'. No, seriously! It's on the top of my chart ;) Most of his staff in the office is very nice. Melinda Lange is awesome and the biggest help to the support group. Aftercare is very important and even though I am moving he was worried that I would keep up with my annual check ups with another ASBS surgeon.

At first I thought he was a bit fidigity, perhaps a bit adult ADD, but I did find that he is very willing to sit and answer any and all questions I asked, even explain things I did ask. He has 2 nurses in the office that are very helpful and nice. I did not find anything that I did not like. The office emphasizes aftercare, and has started a support group for lap band patients, they have a certain schedule they follow for post op appts. I thought the office made me completely aware of the risks involved with the surgery, thru individual appts and pre op "classes". Overall I would rate Dr. Rossi very good. I always felt he was a competant surgeon, bedside manner is also good.

First inpression was a very busy man
Impression stayed the same it's like anything else the more you see of some one the more you get to know a certain side of them He was very nice to me.
Office staff very busy one must understand they see this every day to them it's like any other job.
There was nothing I disliked about him
In my opinion he is a great surgeon but one must remember he is a surgeon (LOL) That is his job anything else you can receive from you family doctor.
After care I guess he does he expects you to do what you are told to do.In my opinion he likes what he does and thats great a least to me it is.
Risks of surgery He was right up front about it all I like that. I did all the research and I knew the risks but he made sure I understood them. I am like most people Oh that will never happen to me. But I thought about it and talked about it with my husband. I never did tell my children. and at the weight I was when I had the surgery I would not have wanted to go on like that anyway. My mind said I am 50 my children are grown I have no grand children So I took the risk and am so glad I did
Rate him In my opinion 100%
Which is better In my opinion Surgical competence Bedside manner is fine. In my opinion he is not a hand holder. He does his job and that suited me just fine.

Confident, knowledgeable

Skilled,busy, popular amongst bander's

Most nice and helpful, but always one or two duds in any office.

He's thinner than me.

Really cares, not just in it for the money.

Very much so!

Not real sure about "structured" There are plenty of followup visits and recommended groups, etc. I'm pretty bad at being a conformist. I kind of like to do my own thing.

straightforward-tells it like it is

Both great

ONLY COMPLAINTS.......
Miscommunication about first fill under fluoroscopy. Office called and asked me to come earlier and I ended up there before they were even open...Had to wait an unnecessary length of time.
Had to get stuck twice the first time because the needle wasn't long enough.
Didn't hit the port right away another time and kind of dug around for it. That was uncomfortable, but minor compared to the good experiences.

Dr Rossi was just wonderful. He was very informative. During my pre-op visits he was always asking me if I was sure that I wanted to proceed. When I was in the surgery suite, about to be put under, he asked me one last time if I was ready. That really impressed me. I felt like he was looking at the whole person and all the emotions that come with bariatric surgery- he didn't just see me as another fat lady on the table. The Peoria surgical group office staff always answered my questions quickly and seemed to know what they were talking about. I would meet with Melinda- the wls coordinator with each visit- very informative!! They always encouraged follow up support groups. I never felt like I had a dumb question. Dr Rossi is an 11 on a 1-10 scale. The receptionist who first checks you in can be a bit rude- but I think they are very busy. Be sure to see their web- site (peoriasurgical.com).

Seemed very pleasant and dedicated to helping his patients with WLS.

Same impression at this time.

At first the office staff didn't strike me as the most competent. My first set of paperwork was lost and had to be filled out a second time. There was a time when I thought I would hear from them but I had to call back and get the ball rolling again. Lately though I've had better luck my whole process for insurance approval was smooth sailing.

There is a very good before and after care program that OSF has set up with the Peoria Surgical group. Participation is key.
