I have had my first appointment with Dr R. Davis and I must say he is wonderful! I was very worried going into my appointment that there would be a problem even attempting a RNY since I have had a takedown of my VBG. All of my fears were put to rest rather quickly and I felt so much better. I do have another ventral hernia that needs repairing but he did not seem to be put off by it at all. I was scheduled for an upper GI and had that done just a few days after seeing him and the good news is that my \"plumbing\" is fine. I have worked in the medical field for many years and have NEVER seen a physician retrive his own patients from the lobby. I feel extremely confident in him as a surgeon as he is very skilled and his bedside manner is marvelous as well. I am thrilled with my decision to use him.

I have a very good feeling about Dr. Davis. He appeared genuine and caring. His son also operates with him. His son is very attractive. I chose Dr. Davis because of his low level of complication rates.

I trusted him to do the surgery because he came highly recommended by my general physician whom I trust implicately. I do not think initially that I \"clicked\" with Dr. Davis, but following the surgery I've become more comfortable with him. I did not originally feel that he remembered me from one appointment to the next, but have tried to develop a better relationship with him since the surgery. He is definitely a competent and qualified surgeon and I would recommend him.

11/18/2002. Dr. Davis is very personal and easy to talk to. He talks to you on a level that is very understandable. The appointment was late due to an emergency surgery that took place. So during this two hour wait, I had the opportunity to talk to several other patients. They all adored him. When your with him, you have his undivided attention, and you know it. It was well worth the wait, to talk to him. He said his office doesnt advertise and does not limit his practice to bariatric surgery. He was very approachable and compassionate. Maybe next time the wait wont be so long.
11/03/02 I had my surgery on December 26, 2003 with Dr. Davis. He saved my life. I started at 264 and now I'm at 150 pounds. Both Dr. Davis's (Robert and Garth) took such good care of me that I could never express how much my life has gotten better. If your looking for a great team, this is the guys. His whole staff- Llana, Joan are awesome. It was an awesome experience to have such care. Thanks Dr. Davis's!

I went to the seminar required by Dr. Davis's office. Dr. Garth Davis presented as a part of Methodist Hospital's Wellness Center presentation. I had been reading on the web for a while and was impressed by the fact that Methodist had made Dr. Garth Davis head of their Bariatric Surgery. I called to make an appointment on a day I was off work and Dr Robert Davis had an appointment available.

The office was packed. I was very early and they were a little late, but I liked that the surgeons asked for the patients themselves. I liked Dr. Robert Davis. He was very kind and polite. He was impressed by my research and compilation of records. He told me I was definitely a candidate for the surgery which made me feel good. He took me to an examination room and looked at my "middle." He told me that having had 3 c-sections and hernia surgery, there is a good chance I will not be able to have laproscopic surgery. I was really thankful for his honesty. The only concern I might have at this is the fact that because I was so educated and perhaps because I am so vocal, Dr. Davis did not talk to me about all the particulars that much. He knew I had been to the seminar. I had already asked questions there. I guess I am pretty confident in my research and it shows.

Phoebe, who coordinates insurance paperwork, has been wonderful. She has been so patient with me and very understanding about getting information to her. She is reassuring to me that I have done what I need to do and that it will come together in the end.

Dr. Davis was very firm and to the point. He does have a great sense of humor. The presentation in his office was very informative and the information he handed out was very helpful. His office staff were very helpful and knowledgeable about what the insurance companies require. He and his son Dr. Garth Davis are about to open up the Bariatric center at The Methodist Hospital. The aftercare program will be more structured at that time. He does discuss openly the risk of surgery. My husband and I rate him a 9 overall. When it comes to physicians, I think it is nice to have a well rounded MD, great surgical competence and bedside manner.

I actually met with Dr. Garth Davis, Dr. Robert Davis' son. I was completely impressed at the presentation he took the group through to explain what were are about to experience. Dr. Garth answered any questions we had and then conducted one-on-one consultation. The office staff has been helpful through the process thus far. I have been able to ask countless questions to the staff and they have been both available and helpful. I am extremely impress with Dr. Garth, his background is amazing and he is very easy to ask questions to. He is the head of Bariatric Surgery at Methodist Hospital in Houston. The doctor invited all of the new patients in our initial meeting to the on going aftercare support meeting that was scheduled for that night.

My first opinion of Dr. Garth / Robert Davis was that they were very caring about this surgery and they gave an in depth seminar that is needed for someone looking into this surgery.

I have only worked with Joan and Phoebe on the phone, but each time I have called, they have taken the time to talk with me about the paperwork that is needed for submission to the insurance company.

Now as to my SECOND opinion of Dr. Robert Davis. He is the BEST that I could ever have gotten.
A. He is VERY sincere about this surgery.
B. He is VERY adamant about following rules.
C. He is VERY caring for his patients.
D. He is VERY friendly with his patients.
E. He is VERY personable.

I could go on and on about my surgeon, but I just gotta say.....THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, DR. ROBERT DAVIS. You have given me a new life to look forward to.

Dr. Robert Davis and his son, Dr. Garth Davis are both wonderful. I have heard nothing but great things about both doctors.
His staff is wonderful. I have been dealing basically with one lady, Phoebe, who is so wonderful and understanding. His program about the surgery was very explanative. He addressed all the risks as well. I'm sure when the surgery is said and done, I will be very pleased with the doctors, hospital,
etc.
