Robert Brolin Bariatric Surgeon M.D.,F.A.C.S.

Dr. Brolin ...What can I say about him..His office staff was quick and professional. I am looking forward to getting my date, and having him do my surgery.

Ver nice man. Dresses funny but good doctor. Very knowledgeable. Everyone n his office was very supportive. Since I live in New York City and he is in New Jersey I really didn't do my follow-up care with him so I cant tell you about that but he was a very good surgeon.

I was impressed with Dr. Brolin when I met him. I felt comfortable and at ease.
I still feel comfortable with him.
The staff, particularly Cynthia, seem competent and attentive, though not perfect, (but, who is?). It's really hard dealing with HMO's.
I noticed that Dr. Brolin's initial consultation was less infromative or thorough than it could have been. He meerly highlighted statements printed in St. Perr's Hosp. brochure on bariatric surgery. He diddn't seem to mention the nutritionist's evaluation or psychiatric evaluation. Fortunately I had already had these done as I was working with Dr. Elliot Goodman at first, though denied because the facility was not in my ins. network.
Also, I seem to be getting the impression that aftercare is not intensively followed by the doctor, but the people of the support group try to take up the slack.
Perhaps I will find out otherwise about the aftercare.

Dr. Brolin has a very busy practice so if you are looking for someone who will remember your first name you will be disappointed. If you want a good doctor who understands obesity he is he one you want. His support staff Drs. Mehta and Cantor are young and very relatable.

My first impression of Dr Brolin was nothing out of the ordinary..i found him to be very serious about his job which makes me feel better..and all business..i heard he was like a stone face but he smiled with my husband and i and was very very nice...i feel very safe with him and have all the confidence in the world with him...i would highly recommend him if anyone is looking for one of the best surgeons around.I have also found his office staff very very nice but really busy also...the wait for this doctor is long but i believe he's well worth the wait...he explains everything very well and takes all the time needed to answer your questions....to me he's the best...he lets you know all the risks you face for wls. and eases your fears....

I had a good first impression of him. His office was very busy but he answered all my questions. Whether in person or on the phone his staff was professional and polite.Because of how busy his office is it took 6 months to get and appointment and its another six month til the surgery was scheduled. He emphasized aftercare and the importance of followup appointments.

I was aware of Dr Brolins personality before I met with him, so I was prepared. I wanted him to greet me with open arms, but he just smiled and shook my hand as he introduced himself.
I knew alot about this surgery, so his consult was cut short by about 30 minutes and thats why he gave me a big smile. He answered some questions that I didn't know and basically said I was a good candidate for this surgery and because I did not have any major co-morbidites the surgery should be uneventful.
I am prepared for this to happen and my confidance in his ability has helped me get over the fear.

The doctor himself has absolutely no personality. He sees you for brief seconds and goes on his way, but his staff is great and can answer any questions. He seemed to have done a good job, but I'm only 12 days post-op so far.

HIM FROM THE START. I FELT VERY COMFORTABLE TALKING TO HIM, AND I FEEL VERY CONFIDENT
IN HIM AS A SURGEON. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND DR. BROLIN TO ANYONE CONSIDERING SURGERY.
HE EXPLAINED THINGS TO ME, I NEVER ONCE FELT RUSHED, AND I LEFT HIS OFFICE FEELING SAFE AND CONTENT WITH MY DECISION
TO HAVE DR. BROLIN AS MY SURGEON. HIS STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND ORGANIZED, AND NOT ONCE DID I FEEL OUT OF PLACE OR BENEATH

I have to be honest my first impresson of Dr. Robert E. Brlolin, well, I have to say that he intimedated me, however he left very cleared that he is a briliant man. After siting in his concult and listing to him explain the procedure, I realized that he was not only a serious men but also very briliant and profesional. His office staff I would say they are average. I think what future patints must know about Dr. Brolin is that you(the patient) are in the best hands possible. He will emphasize over and over that aftercare and fallowups are just as important if not more important than the surgery itself. Dr. Brolin will call you a couple of days before the surgery to make sure that you are emotinaly and mentally prepared for the surgery. He makes sure that you are educated about the surgery before you have this prosedure done. Even though I have not had the surgery done jet I have friends that had the surgery with Dr. Brolin and they state "that Dr. Brolin's office has a very structured aftercare program." Again Dr. Brolin will address the risks of the surgery to reasure that you are educated and prepared. I would rate Dr. Robert E. Brolin to be an excellent bariatric surgent,he is brilliant and really cares for his patients. However he is intemidating at first.
