My fist impression of Dr. Baker was that he was very nice. He answered all my questions and was very straight-forward and honest. He is a very capable doctor. I loved everyone at MMPC. They were all kind and supportive and enthusiastic.
He did discuss the risks of surgery but told me I'd be an ideal candidate. He has a very structured aftercare program. I would rate him 10 out of 10.
Very professonal, friendly. Only met with him once, but with his staff and support people, seemed to be on top of everything. Will know more as the weeks go on. First impression would be a ten. He explained the risk and benifits and the ammount of effert I would have to put out to make this a long term success. I have had some problems with the paper work getting to where it should, but some of that may be my fault also. I'am schulede for a sleep study on the 22 0f dec.
Very professional.
I discovered that he was very kind also.
There are the most wonderful people working in this office.
Nothing that comes to mind.
He is a very good surgeon with a wonderful support staff.
You work with a dietian, exercise person, a series of office visits after surgery and then once a year for the rest of your life.
Yes he has a wonderful aftercare program.
They were very straight forward about risks and benefits.
I would definately refer people to him. I would do it over again with this surgeon.
Both surgical competence and bedside manner were great.
So far my experience with MMPC has been positive. They are very busy there but the staff are all very friendly and caring. The PA there named Todd is my favorite. He is an especially nice guy who likes to kidd a lot. Also I appreciated that right up front they told me what my out of pocket expense was going to be. I had my surgery at Blodgett hospital in Grand Rapids and my treatment there was very, very good. The worse part was that it's a two hour drive from where I live to GR. It was hell coming home the day after surgery. But I think that it was worth it because they have done several thousand WLS there and know what they are doing.
I have nothing but positive comments about MMPC and Dr. Baker. What a refreshing change of pace for overweight people. I was actually thinking the other day, it would be nice to just go and hang out at his office all day. Because the people there are just so nice and understanding. I truly feel blessed to have found MMPC.
They have a very extensive PRE-OP and POST-OP program. Including two weeks of supplements before and after surgery. Which is not very enjoyable but understandable.
I was very happy with my surgeon. He was very personal and really made me feel that I mattered to him. I still feel that way.The office staff could have not been any better. If you are looking for a real good sergeon I would highy recomed Dr. Baker.Aftercare is really important to him and he encourages you with this.He was very honest about the risks of surgery,at the same time I felt that I had the very best support and I was ready to go. I would give my Dr. the very best rate overall,I was very impressed.
When I met with Dr. Baker he immediately put me at ease. He answered all my questions, I never felt rushed and he explained the procedure so that I as a lay person could understand it. Dr. Baker is with MMPC and I have had nothing but a positive experience so far with them. Even though they are very busy I still feel like they are there for me if I need them. They have a great after care program as well as support meetings twice a month. I picked Dr. Baker for his knowledge of the procedure as well as his reputation in the WLS community.
I am now one week post op and still think Dr. Baker is the greatest. I never once had any qualms about his doing this procedure. After doing my research, speaking with him and understanding his commitment to WLS I knew he was the one for me and he proved that. My procedure was open. I went in for surgery on a Tuesday and was home by Thursday and pain has not been a problem. Thank God for doctors like Dr. Baker. I know can get my life back.
Have heard great things about Dr. Baker, the staff has been very nice. I meet with him on 9/16/04, I can't wait to talk with him.
Dr. Baker certainly lives up to his good reviews. What a nice man. We had a great talk, he listened to me!!! There are no negatives. He explained that he does this surgery now almost exclusively. He saw how it changes people's lives and no other surgery he's done has had that kind of impact. Aftercare at MMPC is stressed thoroughly, they want you to succeed with your new "tool" and make every effort to ensure that you do. He said this is major surgery, granted, but your risks for having a hip or knee replacement were far more than having this surgery. I feel completely confident in Dr. Baker's ability and his "bedside manner". He is also a Christian and that matters a lot to me also.
