About MeDr. Foote was born in Dearborn, Michigan in 1969. He is a third generation general surgeon. He received his B.A. from Hope College and his M.D. from Wayne State University. He completed his Surgery Residency at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in 2002, during which he did a one year Fellowship in Surgical Critical Care. He is an Assistant Professor of Surgery for Michigan State University and currently serves as the Medical Director of Bariatrics for North Ottawa Community Health Systems. Known as one of the leading Grand Rapids weight loss doctors, Dr. Foote has performed over 2,500 bariatric operations. He also performs General Surgery procedures including Acute Care surgeries and Advanced Laparoscopy including ventral and inguinal hernia surgeries, gallbladder surgery, appendectomies and other emergency surgeries.
