I met Dr. Hornbostel on May 3rd, 2006, during his monthly seminar. I was very impressed by his professionalism and his down to earth attitude. My best friend also attended the seminar with me and was also impressed. He gave us the facts needed to determine if we needed the surgery and which procedure would benefit our needs. I am glad I went to meet him and his wonderful nurse, Dena.

Met him at the Bariatric Seminar this evening and was very impressed. He was very informative and very straight forward in the presentation. I feel very confident that he is the best choice for me.

I like Dr Hornbostel at the seminar. He was a very professional man, whom did not talk above our heads, had a sense of humor, and was very honest, told everone up front how it was.
The office Staff is very friendly, kind, caring, easy to work with, answers all questions when you call.
He was honest and up front.Future pt. should know that if you are not really ready to use this "tool", you are not really ready for this surgery. Dr Hornbostel, will talk with you, to make sure that you are really ready for the life time of work ahead of you.
Dr Hornbostel says the follow up care is just as important as the first 18 months and working with the "tool". Yes Dr Hornbostel gave me a notebook binder with very direct instructions, and the Nutritionist at the hospital went over the entire contents at the pre-op apt.
Dr. Hornbostel addressed the risk of surgery at the seminar, and then he also shared with the group, what he and the hospital would do to make sure that they do their part, even before you go into O.R.
I would rate Dr. Hornbostel as one of the better surgeons I have ment.
I think both are great, and you get that with Dr. Hornbostel.

I first met Dr. Hornbostel at his required information seminar. He was VERY informative and personable. He wanted to put us at ease, as this is not a trival proceedure we were considering. I learned alot from this seminar and afterward had no real questions. I got to meet with him about a month later (scheduling conflicts) and just over a week after speaking to him, I received a call from his office giving me my surgery date!

I really like Dr. Hornbostel. At the seminar he did not beat around the bush as too what to expect in surgery and afterwards. The first night after surgery he came in and checked on me. That meant alot to me. I saw him everyday. I know that we all like our Dr.'s when we have surgery, but I do say that you check out your dr. first and read what others have to say. Dr. Hornbostel and his staff are very nice. Everyone at the hospital was really great and tried to make me comfortable. I wish that he was down here and PCP..Great bed side manners. Very pleasant to be around and words are hard to come by to really explain how I feel about him and his staff. Fantasic.....

Dr. Hornbostel is a very pleasant well-mannered, non-judgmental surgeon. I first meet him at one of his weight-loss seminars.
I told him I had a brief window of opportunity of 18 months (due to change in insurance carriers) in which I could have my surgery. He and his staff did everything they could to enable me to obtain my surgery within that time period.

I attended the seminar in Febuary of 2005 and I had my surgery on July 29, 2005.

Prior to my surgery I was given a 3-ring binder which contained information about what to expect pre-surgery and post-operative. This binder of information has been extremely helpful. It contained information regarding possible complications, diet (before and after surgery), exercises and motivational information.

I rate Dr. Hornbostel as AAAA++++.

Dr. Hornbostel's surgical competence and bedside manner are both great.

I don't have anything negative to say about Dr. Hornbostel since I have not experienced any problems. All my phone calls regarding diet information have been promptly returned.

What a wonderful man. No questions of mine were left unanswered. Granted, he is a bit "to the point" but with something as serious as WLS, I think it needs to be that way. Everything is laid out in front of you. He made me feel so comfortable. I know he does wonderful work since he has taken care of a few friends. I trust him completely and love the fact that he is my surgeon.....
