My first impression of Dr. Coates is he a very kind man. He seems to know his job well. His patients seem too be happy with the results from their surgery. I looking forward to having him as my surgeon.
I met Dr. Coates at the seminar. I have heard many great things about him so far. I haven't had my consult yet because of some insurance problems, but as soon as I see him I'll let you know exactly what I think!
March 2,2004: My first impression of Dr. Coates was he seemed like a kind a gently man. He did make you feel that any question you ask was stupid or inappropiate.
Dr. Coates is a very wonderful surgeon! I only met him on the day of my surgery. I saw his PA's the other times. They are wonderful as well! They all have a great bedside manner. They seem truely interested in helping the Morbidly Obese patients that they see. They also have quite a bit of compassion! His office staff is bad about calling people back when they say but I'm sure they will be working on that!
Dr. Coates and his staff are all awesome. I had been seen by him before for another issue and instantly felt comfortable with him. It was in his office where I first learned of WLS surgery and realized that I was a candidate. After going round and round with insurance companies and other WLS programs, I came full circle and ended up with Dr. Coates as my surgeon afterall. His compassion and bedside manner for his patients is to be commended. I had him checked out through his collegues and they gave him great reviews regarding his surgical competence. I would have to commend his staff as well for their services. My calls and questions were always answered in a timely and professional manner. I would highly recommend Dr. Coates and his staff to anyone considering WLS or any other general surgery.
I've had the initieal consult, just did psych evaluation. Soon as I get the report I'll get next appt for Dr. COates. I'm finally thinking it could happen!!
I changed surgeons to Dr. Coates and already think he's great. Not too excited about starting again, but very pleased to be starting with Dr. Coates. I've heard nothing but wonderful things about him.
Dr. Coates is an upbeat positive person who loves what he does. i know he has the best interest of his patients at heart both present and future. He has gone the extra mile to give his patients the best possible success.
His staff is very helpful and patient. Trust me - I tested their patience.
The before and after care is very specific and detailed and most certainly geared for weight loss success.
His seminar is excellent and informative with excellent success stories from his patients who also personally attend his seminars as guest speakers.
On a scale of 1 to 10 i would give him a twenty. I would definitely recommend him to anyone seeking wls.
I liked Dr. Coates from the very beginning. He was very pleaseant and reasuring. He answered all my questions that I had wrote down before I even had the chance to ask them. My husband and i were very happy with him. I want to thank him for giving me back my life. He is the greatest doctor. I'd have the surgery all over again. It has been the best thing I could have ever done for myself.
I feel that Dr. Coates aftercare program is the best i have seen. I know people who have gone to other surgeons and they have good aftercare plans but Dr. Coates is the best by far.
Dr. Coates was very straight forward about the surgery and the risk. I rate him as a 10. He is the greatest.
