I really liked her from the first time I met her. She is very laid back and friendly...not at all intimidating.
My first impression of her was accurate.
The office staff at Bariatric Treatment Center in Groveport, Ohio is very kind and patient.
The thing I liked least at that office is the length of the visit each time I go. There are times that I would like to just run in and run out with my busy lifestyle. They are very thorough and take all the time they think necessary. I guess that's a good thing! :)
Overall, I think Dr. Choban is a great doctor and I appreciate the time she takes with me and how she talks to me like a person, like an equal.
Dr. Choban was/is wonderful. She remained the same throughout the entire thing, every visit, etc. She was understanding and very caring. She is available for questions and answers them all to the point of your ability to understand. My mother went with me for the initial consultation and she asked numerous questions. Dr. Choban answered all hers as well. My mother was as impressed with her as I was.
The staff at the hospital was WONDERFUL! Just about everyone had the surgery themselves therefore being very smpythetic for those of us who were going through different after surgery challenges.
It has only been 12 days since surgery so I don't have much more to tell you at this time.
I heard that Patricia Choban is the best! I am waiting for approval from my insurance company which is Medical Mutual.
I'm hoping my surgeon's fee is covered also. I am really impressed with Dr. Choban. She seems very confident, caring, knowledgeable and excited to be able to help me have a better, more healthy life.
First impression of her was that she knows her stuff.
My impression of her has never changed.
Office and nursing staff are very supportive and friendly.
She is just a wonderful person and very matter of fact. I think that's what I liked about her most. She didn't beat around the bush or sugar coat anything.
Very excellent follow up on after care and staff even calls your house weeks after the surgery to check up on you.
She was upfront with me about the risks of surgery and possible complications that could occur.
Both her surgical competence and bedside manner are the best there is. I wouldn't have any problems recommending her to someone else considering surgery.
I want to remind everyone that these are my opinions only and that you may have differnt experiences.
Patricia is very upfront with you. Any questions you have are answered right then.
Patricia is with Bariatric treatment centers in Groveport, Ohio about 1 hour from Columbus.
The office staff are great. Your patient care rep that comes to speak with you has already had the surgery.
Aftercare is very important at BTC they will hunt you down if you do not come back I'm not kidding.
Aftercare starts at 2wks, 6wks, 2mos, 6mos, and yearly for the rest of your life.
The risks of surgery are the first thing she talks about. Like I said before she is a no nonsense lady.
I haven't had my surgery yet but on her skills and abilities and the satisfaction patients have with her I'd say shes a 10.
I think surgical competence is most important I'd rather have a cold knowledgable person than a funny person who destroys my life.
Dr. Choban is well-known in this area for specializing in the open bariatric surgery. she had over 10 years experience in weighloss surgery research and practice before joining bariatric treatment centers. she has a very upbeat personality and is very informative. she took time to answer all of my concerns.
bariatric treatment centers has a wonderful hospital staff for aftercare. they are very quick to respond and very sensitive. the whole place is oversized for the larger patient.
I was very impressed with Dr. Choban. I haad done quite a bit of research not only on the surgical procedure but on physicians and programs as well. Dr. Choban was very forthright and answered every one of my questions to my satisfaction. She even handled my husband, who has a tendency to intimidate people and doesn't trust doctors, well by answering all of his questions. The office staff was friendly with the possible exception of the receptionist who was a bit gruff but not overly so. The office was very busy the day I was there and I think she was just aiming for efficiency rather than rudeness. There was one thing that I think I should have been notified about before the appt - there was an $85 fee for the consultation which is not reimbursable by insurance and the visit was about 3 hours long. I would have budgeted more time and money for the visit had I known this beforehand. This was a minor issue overall and I feel very confident with Dr. Choban.
