I first met Dr. Hutcher at a local WLS seminar. I was struck by his dedication to his patients, his record of preforming many surgeries and his sense of humor. He is a real patient advocate for fair treament by insurance companies, but I of course was impressed with the 3500+ weight loss surgeries he has preformed and the fact that he is very up to date in his procedures.
Also, he requires smokers to quit and explained that smokers have a much higher risk of certain complications. What an incentive.
I am still very impressed after my initial consultation.
The have an extensive pre and post-op program which I will be involved in once I get my surgery date.
He is a very sweet and caring doctor, very personal. Very positive impression. Staff very friendly and caring. No complaints. He will answer and questions or concerns. He makes sure you know what is about to happen. He is very concern about you before, during and after. The do constant follow-ups. He addressed all risk. I give Dr. Hutcher at 15 rating!!! His competence all great.
I meet Dr. Hutcher for the first time at a informational meeting in July 2004. I found him to be personable, kind, honest and straightforward. I immediately felt comfortable with him and knew I wanted him to do my surgery. His staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I've been communicating with Hilarie thru email and she has been the absolute best. Dr. Hutcher and his staff have answered all my questions about the surgery and possible risks. I love the fact that you have to take classes about behavior modification, dietary and informational. You know going into this that it is a life change and you're a patient of his for the rest of your life.
Dr. Hutcher is fantastic... He is very knowledgable and informned about this surgery. I is his speacality. He is the best in the state of Virginia. He states in his approach that if you have the surgery you are his patient for life. You are never told to go elsewhere for follow-up care. Excellent Doctor.
The staff were wounderful to me. They Filed all necessary paperwork to the insurance company. They ALL have smiles on their faces whenever you are in the office. Very corteous on the phone also.
Dr. Hutcher in my opinion rates a 15! on a scale of 1-10.
I just have to tell you Dr. Hutcher is the man... he was sent to all of us for a special need in his heart to explain our own insecurities and difficulties with being obese. His office staff... Barbara Kayes i have to put you in there helped me when no one else could help me... They tell you... You are a patient of ours till we die... not till surgery is over... and they mean that.
Dr. Hutcher and his staff have the best personal care in mind... Educate, Educate and more education.. is the best thing they did for me. He explained everything inside and out I knew what to expect... and even more...
They truely do tend to your every need...
Dr.Hutcher is right up there next to God. He is a kind and soft spoken man, very compassionate. He has a 96% success rate with his patients and is very knowledgeable in his kraft. His staff are warm and caring people and are always there to help with any questions. I wished that he wasn't so busy in his practice, sometimes he seemed rushed, not by his own doing, but because that's the schdule. He encourages support groups at the hospital and attends them right along with the patients. You will find no better care then in his hands. He came to see me several times a day and called me after I got home to see how things were going. Thank God for him..he helped save my life.
My first impression of Dr. Hutcher was how extremely knowledgeable he is. Combine the knowledge with his personable manner and sense of humor and the combination is unbeatable! These first impressions have continued to get even better over time. His entire staff is caring and accommodating. I would HIGHLY recommend the practice for anyone considering this procedure. The practice offers structured pre-care and post-care programs which focus on making the patient feel at ease. Dr. Hutcher even has a separate appointment with the patient and their spouse or significant other to review potential complications. Thus far, Dr. Hutcher and his staff would receive the highest recommendation from me.
Dr. Neil Hutcher is the best there is in my book. He only does Open RNY surgeries and he certainly is a very caring person. He took all the time I wanted during my office visits and answered any questions I had. The introductory routine of his office is to send you a video and the beginning paperwork for you to fill out and the video is Dr. Hutcher and a nurse discussing the RNY procedure in detail. There is nothing left to the imagination so you are very well informed when you meet with him for the first time. He also has a group meeting and goes over the same material that is on the video only in slide pictures and answers any questions that you may have. Then, and only then, you are allowed to make your first appointment to see him. He wants you to be very sure that you understand the seriousness of the procedure and that you are ready to undergo the surgery. Barbara is one of the Nurse Practitioners in his group and she is the greatest, the most caring, concerned individual. She really is there for the patient and not just for her paycheck. She has been a friend and mentor to me and I can talk with her about anything. Dr. Hutcher is really fortunate for have her on his staff and I am so very, very thankful that she is the one that I see on my visits to his office. A BIG THANK YOU, Barbara!!!
I was a little intimidated at first but he then eased my mind. He was a very cool person and I made him laugh.
Just by talking to him and I kept going back to the hospital because of stress. I wanted to eat and I couldn't and it stressed me out but he comforted me.
They were very wonderful and I like the way Barbara Kayes use to get after me. It kind of strengthened me and made me want to do better. I like that Dr. Hutcher and his staff kept telling me "this is a tool, you have been given a tool and you have to use it to your advantage."
I liked everything about them.
That I think he is the best. He came highly reccommended because my primary care physcian himself had his surgery done by Dr. Hutcher and so did my sister in law.
They have a support group.
I had to take classes and stuff in which they discussed the risks. Everything was great I could go on and on.
