My first impression of Dr. Hutcher was that he was such a small man to be doing these types of surgeries. He also was a very caring person. He took the time to fully explain the risks involved with this surgery and that I would have to really have to change fully the way that I eat. This is not a diet! You are actually learning all over to eat again. It's like learning how to ride a bike with training wheels. You may have fell a little but you eventually learned how to ride that bike.
Dr. Hutcher's office staff were all very nice. I was told by Dr. Hutcher's staff that once I have this surgery with them that I would be a patient for life with them. They help you along on your journey and will always be there for you!
I first "met" Dr. Hutcher at a seminar which was an informational presentation about weight loss surgery. I was very impressed that the surgeon spent so much of his time with us and was as warm and friendly as he could be. He has a keen sense of humor. He emphasized that surgery was a TOOL and not the solution. As in any life change, CHANGE is the springboard for success. Bad habits must be overcome, good habits must become routine if the surgery TOOL is to be helpful.
It was not until I did some research that I found out that Dr. Hutcher is nationally known and respected by his colleagues for his skill and knowledge of this surgical procedure.
The office staff are great, they work together like a well oiled machine. Everyone knows the "drill" and they are all considerate, helpful and knowledgeable.
From the very first seminar, the risks and benefits of surgery were detailed and questions were answered completely and honestly. There are required educational classes with the nurses and nutritionist which proved to be very helpful and informative. We were taught how to sip from a one ounce cup over a period of time and instructed in the use of an incentive spirometer. We learned what would happen before, during and after surgery.
I would suggest for anyone interested in any surgeon to do their homework and research them on the Net. There are personal testimonies and more importantly credentialing that can be easily checked out.
If I were to rate this surgeon and his staff on a scale of 1-10, they would get a 12!!
In my opinion, surgical competence is the most important factor for consideration but it is always nice to have that human touch as well. In Dr. Hutcher, it seems like this is a "package deal".
He was very imformative and gave us the true idea of what to expect.
They did not change
Very friendly and professional.
Never saw him smile until we were done.
He is very serious about his work and doing the best job possible.
Top priority.
Yes
Truthfully and without sugar coating it.
80% or a 8 out of 10
Surgical competence.
I met with Dr. Neil Hutcher today 3-25-2005. I thought he was wonderful. He answered all of my questions. He seems to have a great sense of humor, and I like that. The staff was great with me. They were able to do my Physical today instead of Monday, and the hospital also did the pre-registration and blood work. Now I don't have to go in on Monday at all. All I have now is the class next Wednesday, and I will be done until the 11th of April which is surgery day.
2/24/05 my first impression of him was write , he is a very understanding man, as well as he is to the point of what is going to happen form beginning to end with the surgery, he is very thearl about his teaching pts about how it is done.
My impression has not chnged so for about Dr. Hutcher, i have heard so many good things about him and his staff so iam pertty confident in him
His staff has been such good help to me via email or phone. and questions i have they were able to help me they are very helpful.
So far there has been no dislikes. The future pt. would have nothing to worry about this Dr. at all, He also emphasizes on care strongly if he could stand on top ot he building he would to tell the hole world that, taking care of you self is the keep, do what we tell you to do and you will come out just fine. Yes the after care program is very organized, form what i hear once i find out i will add that in as well
I have tried for several years now for the gastric bypass surgery; I went to the informational meeting 1/05 at St. Mary's hospital; I went to see the RN today at Dr. Hutcher's office, 1/26/05; I'm very impressed with everyone at this office; after talking with everyone today I feel it's best to have Dr. Hutcher to do my surgery; prayyyyyyyyyy it gets approved and I actually have the surgery soon! "update" My surgery is scheduled for March 15; 05!!!!!!!!!!I can't wait!! Dr. Hutcher's staff are absolutely wonderful!!!!!
DR HUTCHER HAD PERFORMED WLS SURGERY ON SEVERAL
FRIENDS AND WAS REFERRED BY MY PRIMARY CARE DR.
WHEN I FIRST MET HIM, I FELT VERY COMFORTABLE
AND KNEW I WOULD BE IN GOOD HANDS.
HIS STAFF IS THE GREATEST ESPECIALLY JEANNINE!! SHE WAS THERE WHEN I NEEDED HER AFTER SURGERY AND EVER SINCE. SHE IS ONE OF MY
HEROES!!!
I WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH DOCTOR HUTCHER. HE MADE ME FEEL VERY COMFORTABLE FROM THE GET GO. HE HAS BEEN WONDERFUL AND HIS STAFF IS EXACTLY WHAT A STAFF SHOULD BE. VERY EFFECIENT, COURTEOUS AND HELPFULL. SO FAR THERE IS NOTHING NEGITIVE THAT I WOULD SAY ABOUT ANY OF THE STAFF OR DR. HUTCHER. THAT HE WILL BE VERY UPFRONT AND HE KNOWS HIS STUFF. THEY VERY MUCH ENCOURAGE AFTERCARE. I WILL BE SEEING ALL OF THIS FOR MYSELF VERY SHORTLY. I AM NOT 100% SURE OF THE STRUCTURED AFTERCARE PROGRAM, BUT I FEEL VERY CONFIDENT THAT I WILL BE TAKEN VERY GOOD CARE OF. YES THEY ALL GO OVER THE RISK AND BENEFITS OF THIS SURGERY. SO FAR I WOULD GIVE HIM AND HIS STAFF A "10". BOTH, BUT I WOULD RATHER HAVE MY DOCTOR BE A BETTER SURGEON THAN THERE TO HOLD MY HAND AFTERWARDS.
