I wasn't sure of what to expect, truthfully, because I had called for my packet of info and they sent that to me fine. However a few weeks later I had a message on my phone saying my surgery was scheduled. I didnt even fill out the paper yet!!! So I figured GREAT this place is crazy. But that was DEFINATELY NOT THE CASE. Someone must have had an off day because ever since they have been ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL. Pepper (the gastric bypass coordinator) is the greatest. She will help you with anything. Thank Pepper.

I have dealt with Dr. Jawad in the past. He is what all Drs should be. He really lets you know he cares. His office staff is the best. Pepper ,summer,Elinor make going the an anventure. His caring is his best quality. He really spends the time with you to prepare you for this journey. He takes the time to go over risks, after care and the changes this will make. My book his office and Dr. Jawad are 100 on scale of 1 to 10

Dr Jaward is WONDERFUL, everyone in the office is very nice, But when you go expect to be there most of the day. They are very busy. I had my consultation and within 10 days my Insurance had approved the surgery.
Dr Jawad explains everything about the surgery including the risk.Pepper does the insurance and she is great also and very busy

My first impression of Dr Jawad was here is a man who is looking at my fatness and saying "chaching", but that has since changed. As i got to know dr jawad i realized that he is a genuine person that is truly concerned about me, as well as each one of his patients. he facilitates a support group meeting once a month, taking time out of his busy evenings to help all of us.

His office staff is great, they always are right there to answer a question, and if they dont have the answer, they find it.

I can honestly say that there is nothing that i particularly dislike about dr jawad. his "bedside" manner is wonderful.

Dr jawad is fair, honest and sympathetic. He will tell you like it is and not try to "candy coat" anything.

He strongly emphasizes the after care, not only physically, but mentally as well.

he has an extremely structured aftercare program, including but not limited to annual visits after goal weights are acheived.

He totally lets you know about the risks associated with this surgery.

In my book, he is a 10.

What a wonderful Surgeon Dr Jawad is, my husband and myself found him to be extremely informative and straight forward.Dr Jawad held nothing back giving the good along with the bad regarding the surgery.
Spoke about how surgical weight loss began and how it has evolved thru the years,to the present.
The office staff was equally as informative and helpful and all in all we found the 1st visit very pleasent .
Aftercare is of great importance and is stressed very much, and and all over feeling you leave wth is that they really care about each and everyone of their pts.
If a rating were to be given on a 1 to 10 basis he and his staff get a 10 plus from us.
My husband and I have been in the medical field over 25 yrs and Dr Jawad and staff are competent and have a great way with their pts.

I met with Dr. Cubano yesterday (11/1/02). He seemed very competent and knowledgeable. The only draw back is the six month program that you have to undergo. The weight loss does not bother me. He said that I needed to lose 25 pounds prior to surgery. I don't have a problem with that I just feel that six months is a little too long. We will see how things work.
12/4/02 Well I had a great Thanksgiving and am now back on the WLS kick. I must say reading the memorial page threw me; however, now I decided to put this in God's hands. To that, I have an appt with Dr. Jawad in Ocala on January 16th! From what I hear he is very good with the Lap and that is what I want. I will post again after my appt. I saw Dr. Jawad and absolutely loved him. I felt his spirit and I know that he is a competent surgeon. He really cares about his patients and what he does. I can't wait until my date!

I HAD MY CONSULT WITH DR.JAWAD ON JAN.23RD...HE CAME OUT IN THE WAITING ROOM WITH ALL THE PATIENTS THAT WERE THERE TO SEE HIM...HE GAVE A SHORT TALK ON THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF SURGERY AND WHAT IS EXPECTED OF EACH PATIENTS AND HOW MANY SURGERIES HE HAD DONE, WHICH WAS 800 ALL TOGETHER AND A LOSS OF ONLY 1 PATAIENT...THEN EACH ONE OF US WENT BACK IN, ONE AT A TIME TO SPEAK WITH HIM AND BE EXAMINED, HE WAS A VERY CALM AND QUIET MAN, THAT ANSWERED EVERY QUESTION I ASK, EVEN THOUGH I'M SURE HE HAS HEARD EVERY QUESTION KNOWN TO MAN THOUSANDS OF TIMES, BUT HE WAS SO PATIENT. AT THIS POINT I'M SURE I HAVE CAME TO THE RIGHT DECISION ON HAVING SURGERY, BY HIM...ALSO THE LADIES IN THE BACK OFFICE WHERE SUPER NICE AND VERY HELPFULL ALSO, I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH WORDS TO SAY ABOUT HOW HELPFUL THEY WERE, NOW ALL I HAVE TO DO IS WAIT FOR MY APPROVAL AND THEN A DATE ..PEPPER SAID, SHE WOULD TRY AND HAVE MY PAPERS IN THE MAIL FOR MY APPROVAL BY THE NEXT DAY, THANKS PEPPER...YOUR GREAT!AS FOR A RATING OF DR.JAWAD AND HIS OFFICE, I WOULD RATE THEM A 10+...THEY ARE SUPER!!!!

Well I have had my surgery and have lost 40 lbs already. My doctor was wonderful, his staff is awesome.

I know that if I have any questions or issues they are there for me.

I had this surgery the same day as two other ladies and we were all on the same floor for recovery. We did our marathon walks around the hospital just like we are supposed to.

We have remained friends and talk at least once a week.

It has been nice to have this support on a local basis.

I called the office to make my consult appointment in January 2003 and they were able to schedule my first meeting with the Doctor for March 20, 2003. I received my information packet within three days from my phone call. It was very informative. It includes information about this website as well as the procedure and risk factors. Also in the packet was information about a local support group called "Self Image". I attended my first meeting on January 30, 2003 and was amazed to see Dr. Jawad walk in! He took questions for 2 hours. I feel very confident that this Dr. cares for his patients on a much more personal level. I am looking forward to my consultation.

I haven't met him yet. My initial consultation is in May 1,2003. I just receive a package by mail on information and some paperwork to fill out.
