Had my Consultation on Jan 20 2003. I really like Dr Jawad. He is very knowledgeable. Knows what he is doing. He stresses the after care and importance in this surgery. I like him and I rate him a 10 so far. Im just waiting on insurance approval. I went on May 1 for my pre op appointment. I was so scared because I had a friend a week before this die. So I talked with Dr Jawad for 30 mins about it. He made me feel so much better. I believe he is God sent. I felt I was in great hands and would do well. I would really recommend Dr Jawad to anyone. I have nothing bad to say about him. He is perfect in my eyes.

Dr. Jawad is a quiet, serious but very dedicated and knowledgeable surgeon. He is completely concerned with every patient personally. He was very happy for me that my weight loss after three months was 50+ lbs, and he also has been very encouraging regarding the complications I had due to adhesions. His office staff is totally helpful and will answer any questions. Most of mine were post op and they get back with you within the day. If you have had previous surgery or adhesions, please be sure and discuss with Dr. Jawad. His office emphasizes very stringent aftercare, and are dedicated to a successful life long journey. There is a structured program with support groups in Ocala, but if you are in other areas, find one near you. The risks of surgery are discussed thoroughly. I would rate him with a score of 20 on a scale of 1 - 10. His surgical competence and bedside manner are both great. Be sure you are also working with your primary care physician, to keep up with your care between surgeon visits.

Dr. Jawad came very highly recommended on this website and through former patients. His staff was helpful & friendly. I called other Doctors for information, none took the time to answer my questions like Dr. Jawad's staff did.
When I went for my consultation with Dr. Jawad, he was very pleasant, kind, & soft-spoken and his staff is very personable. They got my paperwork through my insurance & approved very quickly. It was only 2 months between my 1st consultation (2/25/03) and my surgery (5/2/03). Along the way I became a little displeased with Dr. Jawad's office staff, their errors caused me a lot of headaches, including having to wait over two hours to see Dr. Jawad at my pre-op appointment. Which wouldn't have been so bad if I didn't have such a long drive to get there in the first place. In the end, Dr. Jawad is a wonderful surgeon and although I am only a few days post-op I feel really great. Now that I look back I see that his staff is very busy and above all they were always polite and helpful.

he was very informative in the group meeting, but was going real fast, like a robot or like something memorized. He gave the opportunity to make questions. At the end we met one on one, I was the last patient to be seen, so it was really quick. I did not interact with the staff except the receptionist that handed me the paperwork and antoher girl that asked me about my health. He seem to be in a hurry. He asked me if I had any questions and that was it.

Met with Dr. Jawad. He was very nice and I loved his nurse. She was very helpful. I have been to several of the support groups and Dr. Jawad spoke at the last one. He is very pleasant and down to Earth. He seems very professional yet friendly and that is a unique quality for a Dr. At the Pre-Surgery appt. his whole team was great. They work together well and answer all your questions.
He emphasizes vitamin importance and following your diet after surgery. He goes over the risks of surgery but of course I think the benefits out weigh them. After all isn't that why we're all here??

straight to the facts! Go stong decisive personality. Staff very helpful!! Pepper is the key person and does everything in her power!!! Don't go unless you are serious about getting this surgery they will get you approved!! The only downfall is you get her (Peppers) voice mail, but leave a message and she will get back asap! Just following up Once Again PEPPER is the office talk to her and things will be done!!! I am Approved for surgery. 3 weeks it took. Only Because the Ins. Needed other things.

I have not met Dr. Jawad yet, but so far his office staff is great. I received my referral from my Primary Care Physician on February 11, 2003. It was submitted to my insurance that day. It took only 5 business days for them to process it and approve it. I was then referred to Dr. Jawad. I called to schedule an appointment for my consultation and my date was set for May 15, 2003. I didn't know how I was going to wait that long. Then...I received a phone call asking me if I could come March 6, 2003 because they had a cancellation. I took it. I will update you after my consultation appointment, I am so excited.

I had my consultation in March with Dr. Jawad and found him to be a very sensitive and caring person. He explained the surgery, the risk and benefits of the surgery, and the life changes that would have to be made. He emphasized the importance of vitamins, protein, B12, and calcium after the surgery. The office staff, especialy Pepper, was very professional and explained about what insurance companies required and approximately how long it could take to get approved or denied. Luckly my insurance company approved on the first try and I now have my surgery date. I fell very confident that Dr. Jawad is a very competent surgeon.

Dr. Jawad and his staff are awesome! He is warm, competent, straight forward and compassionate. His staff has been helpsful and considerate and at all times professional. At my initial meeting I had to wait a while to see him - but it was worth the wait. Dr. Jawad explained the procedure in great detail and he was interested in what I knew about the procedure. My sister asked a lot of questions and he was very clear in his response to her. Dr. Jawad is not talkative, but very responsive. He has a very pleasant disposition. My mother and sister like him - and that's saying a LOT. In my search for a physician I took my mother and sister along - to provide an objective opinion. I was concerned about having a LAP RnY because of my BMI and Dr. Jawad assured me he could perform my surgery laproscopically and he did just that! If you are Super Morbidily Obese - like me and are skeptical about having an open procedure try Dr. Jawad, he will have an honest (and very frank) discussion with you. I highly recommend him his surgical competence and bedside manner are both excellent.
