Great surgeon! Staff is very supportive. They have done this many times and have the whole procedure worked out from your initial meetings to post-op appointments. They go over everything so thoroughly, even at the hospital. I felt like I was in really good hands, especially in such a scary situation. Any new people will be in really good hands with him and his whole staff.
I loved him and trusted him right away.rnhe was wonderful.rnthe staff was great.rnpatty his nurse was very kind.rnI just wish i had lived close enough to follow up with him because that is inportin and we had no one to do that with.rnI have a blood clot history 3 time twice in myrnlungs. And he made me fell at ease when no other dr had. rn Both his bed side and surgical competence was great.Thank you Dr J. rn
On first impression, Dr. Jawad appeared to be calm, reserved, knowledgeable, serious with a good sense of humor held well in check, informative, respectful, and professionalrnrnKevin on the medical staff is very impressive too. Lissette is very kind, patient, and comforting. The admin staff is pleasant and efficient, especially the front office crew. I have had non/slow communication issues with only one staff member through the preapproval process and afterward.rnrnI have a great deal of trust in Dr. Jawad and his staff. Their emphasis on education and aftercare is exemplary, and the consultant they bring in for nutrition counseling (Jennifer with Diatrition) is top notch. rnrnSurgical risks were well covered and repeated with plenty of Q&A.rnrnSurgical competence is his best trait. His manner is quiet and reserved, which is comforting in itself for those of us who are a bit high wired. rnrnDr. Warren, the anesthesiologist, had a fantastic manner and was great at bringing the human side into the post-op experience.
Dr. Jawad was very professional. He took the time to answer all questions. rnrnI consider him a craftsman at his \"art.\" I had no problems, and was in at 7 -out by 2. No issues with gas, nausea, or any other side effects. While I have only seen him two times, once before the surgery, then the day of.... he is the best. rnrnNow, I see Kevn, his PA, and he is equally great. Very down to earth, and good at his \"craft\" of doing fills and guiding me in suggestions to get the most benefit from the band. rnrnStaff is great. All are competent at what they do. Since I have had no problems, I can not attest to their responsiveness when problems occur, but I would like to believe they will handle immediately. rnrnI will say, they can be bears when it comes to the insurance part, but they are just dong their jobs.
My first impression of Dr. Jawad was that he's very \"to the point\". He's not very talkative but willing to answer any question(s) asked of him. His office staff is very professional and helpful whenever I need them. The pre-op appointment was very informative. Every aspect of the surgery, risks (of surgery) and aftercare was covered thoroughly. It lasted for about 4-5 hours and they also issued each person a dvd of everything covered for your own future reference. The one thing I wish was done differently is that Dr. Jawad would visit the patient (after surgery) and talk to them about how the surgical procedure went. Him (Dr. Jawad) or the nurse will speak to the family member(s) once surgery is over, however, I just think it would be nice for the Dr. to speak with the patient as well. The day of surgery the patient does not see Dr. Jawad at all. The only time you (the patient) will see him is during pre-op and at discharge (from the hospital) time.rnrnAt the hospital, Ocala Regional Medical, Dr. Jawad has his own bariatric wing, therefore, the staff can cater only to the requirements of bariatric patients.rnrnI would recommend Dr. Jawad to anyone I know who is thinking about having bariatric surgery. I had to drive 2 hours (each way) from Jacksonville, FL to Ocala, FL for office visits and surgery but it was well worth it.
Dr. Jawad was absolutely wonderful and caring.rnrnThe office staff was wonderful and very helpful.rnrnThe least thing I liked was I live in Orlando and had to go to Ocala but it was worth it. They only offer Orlando office hours on Monday's.rnrnThe education received from Dr. Jawad was phenominal. My wife had the surgery 22 yrs ago and she was not so lucky to get all this information available to her. Aftercare was really stressed with this physician.rnrnAs of to date, I would say the surgical competence and bedside manner were both great.rnrnNothing negative to say at this point, except 6 wks is too long to have the G-tube.
