After attending 5 information sessions - the best feeling I had was with Dr. Roslin. Believe me looking for parking around Lenox HillI was in no mood to like the program, but once he began the session I found myself gravitating towards him. I like his style . So what I had though would be in last place ended up my 1st choice. rnWell today I had my consultation, and I was right. he's the surgeon for me. very respectful and honest. He does listen and give you time for questions. He was very clear on the risks benefits and alternatives and also the linitiations of my choice (the band). I really appreciated his honesty. rnThe office was wonderful. I had a 12oclock appt and the medical assistant call my name @ 12 on the dot. I love it that the office was repectful of my time. I was alos able to meet with the psycholgist Dr. Rivera(excellent) and the Nutritionist Sharon Zarabi (sp?) (excellent again).rnI didn't find Dr. Roslin brash or abrupt, he's a leader in his field and knows it , That's all I ask for. a good knowledge base and skills and I could see that he keeps up with what's happening in the bariatric world actually innovated different products.rnAfter care is emphasized more at the info session and in the book that we are given then, but this id our process you have to read the information and be responsible, esp with the band since it very much depends on what one does to make it work.rnTHere are monthly support groups separated band/bypass etc. Which I plan on going to.rnI was given a preop test to make sure I understood the risks of surgery.rnI would rate hime and his office 12 out of 10 (just for seeing me on time).rnOf couse it's great to have surgical copentence and a good bedside manner. I'm sure I won't be going for coffee with Dr. Roslin but I need a surgeon who's able to take care of me and deal with any problems that arise. He's a very friendly guy I'm not post op yet so I can't really comment on his bedside manner yet
Dr. Roslin is a total straight shooter who does not sugar coat anything. At first , he seems a little abrasive, but once you know him, he is an extremely nice person as well as a great surgeon. Since I was looking for a great surgeon and not someone to have a cup of tea with, he was a good fit for me and I am pleased with my experience.
Dr. Roslin is friendly and very much there to give you honest direct answers. He was upfront and told me things even if they were not what I wanted to hear. I felt that he was really there to help. rnMy impression of him only got better over time. He promised he would try to do the procedure laproscopically even though I had lots of scar tissue and although it took him twice as long he did it. rnHe doesn't promise things he can't follow through on and he doesn't give you false hope or waste your time. He listens to you and even responds promptly to emails. What more can you ask for? NOTHING!!!!rnrnAftercare is extremely important and Dr. Roslin makes this clear his whole office supports this. I will say that there may be a couple of office staff that fall short on personality at times but they are staff you hardly interact with and the rest of the staff more than make up for it and Dr. Roslin's competence outshines it. rnrnI found Dr. Roslin's competence and bedside manner to be great I also found the whole surgical team to be wonderful. The anesthiologist had a sense of humor and even checked on me after surgery in recovery. rnrnI would rate Dr. Roslin on a scale of 1-10 a high 20.
I just LOVE Dr. Roslin. When I emailed him begging him to relieve me from my misery with my band and all the vomiting he immediately picked up the phone and called me. He was truly amazing from the moment I met him. When you speak to him you know tha you are talking to an experienced, no nonsense surgeon. He is very straight forward and knows his stuff. Someone told me that he was a great surgeon but he lacked bedside manners. BOY WAS THAT PERSON WRONG. He went to see me every day and always had a joke to cheer me up. My surgery was 7 hours and ended at 11pm, however, he went to check on me before 7am the next morning. I don't have enough great things to say about Dr. Roslin. I am so grateful I went to him to remove this band that was just making me miserable.
Very Serious and direct person. I heard that he did not have a great bed-side manner but was the best. I found his bed side manner to be quite pleasant and he has a great sense of humor. He is a very confident Doctor and takes his work very seriously. His staff is friendly, a bit on over-load with all the activity and ther was a transition in personnel due to one person leaving to give birth. I was a bit concerned about the transition, but it went smoothly. My greatest disappointment is with the informational packages including the menus and diets that are provided. The information is repetitive, not well organized, some contradictory and some details are left out. I think there should be some type of feedback to the staff because I think you could make a mistake. This information is critical and I have made notes to share at the next support group meeting.rnrnGreat follow-up care by staff the ensure you get your appointments in a timely manner, support groups scheduled ahead of time. He allows you to tell him about your experience before he makes recommendations about your after care. I would rate him as Excellent overall. I believe that surgical competence is important and it also helps to show the human side to the patient as well. Dr. Roslin did both and makes me feel very comfortable. By the way, he is the best dressed physician I have ever seen and could model for GQ he has great taste in fashion.
My surgeon is very thorough and great surgeon. The office staff was very helpfull and cooperated with me extremely well. He speaks to you When you go for your check-ups and let you know what he expects from you. His surgical competence is the best, I heard some people don't like his bedside manner but he is great to me. I can always ask him questions and he is always patient and give me answers. He is the best!! Check him out!!
Dr. Roslin was a great pick he is a great surgeon. He in his team did a great job i'm recovering very well. His response time to situations is very good after surgery, accomedations are great at Lenox Hill and all around Dr. Roslin is a excellent 5 star choice for a surgeon. I thank him i'm on my way back to body building soon because oh him. I thought i was really going to die in my sleep.rnrnthanks Dr.Roslin and staff for changing my LIFe!
Had surgery with Dr. Roslin on November 20th of 2007rnrnDr. Roslin was recommended to me by a friend of my father who is a risk-management guy for bariatric surgery. Dr. Roslin is one of the best in the country, and after meeting him, I had complete confidence in his abilities and like his straightforward and intelligent style. rnrnDr. Roslin talks very straight and doesn't treat me like a fool. He was excellent throughout the surgery and I have had, so far, a quick recovery and a system with a high tolerance for a variety of foods, with no complications.rnrnThe man came by my hospital bed to check in on Thanksgiving Day, which says quite a lot about his dedication. rnrnI really feel like choosing Dr. Roslin was my best decision with regards to this surgery. rnrnI chose my surgeon based on a few things: statistics (low death rate, low complication rate), experience and renown within the industry, and whether I clicked with him and trusted him. Dr. Roslin met these for me. If someone is measuring by a different standard, they may wish to research differently, but I, so far, have only the best to say.
Dr Roslin is amazing. Quiet and reserved but he is the BEST at what he does. He truely cares about his patients and their wellbeing, I've been blessed to have him as my doctor!rnrnDr. Roslin's office staff are so wonderful and caring. From Gayle at the front desk to Deborah in the back office everyone knows this isn't an easy process and it's great to see them when you come into the office and admire the changes they see in you from appointment to appointment.rnrnThere isn't anyone else in the world I'd recommend to do RYN other than Dr Roslin, I have friends here on the site as well as from work who are already looking into the surgery and they know from my experience that there is NO ONE like Dr Roslin!!
