First appointment 11/15 though We have corresponded a bit by email. He seems to be very available to answer questions.
Dr. Roslin was extremely professional and friendly. Catherine was very proficient. It was nice meeting other people in the office in varying stages of preop to postop.
As I had done extensive research prior, the appointment was less intensive. I did have to wait over an hour for the appointment but Catherine always came out to update me/
Dr. Roslin put me right at ease when I met him. After a brief talk, he gave me the choice of what procedure that I wanted. He is very factual and I am a person that appreciates a doctor that is no-nonsense and does not beat around the bush. He told me that I must exercise after surgery and it is not a "wonder-cure". I would definitely recommend him.
My first impression of Dr. Roslin was that he is a kind and gentle man. He asked me alot of questions, and took the time to answer all of mine. He took my psychiatric history very seriously, and it took several discussions with my psychiatrist before he agreed to do the surgery. I got the impression tha he really cared about me. His office staff was very attentive and resourceful. He had me see a nutritionist prior to surgery, and an MD, as well as promise to continue to see my psychiatrist and therapist at least once a week after the surgery. I'm sure I'll have more to say after the surgery.
My doctor looked very young. He was down to earth and honest. Was helpful in my decision to have the surgery and never pressured me in any way. While in the hospital I did not feel that he gave enough time to answer questions and wasn't thorough enough in his answers. I did not feel he prepared me enough for things to expect. I developed an infection at the surgery site that took a long time to heal and then it came back after it seemed to be gone. He allowed me to see him every week at my request because the wound kept healing over while the infection remained inside. He had to open the site every week but finally all is well. His staff is lovely and helpful and always supportive and caring. I don't like doctors that are alarmists but he was a little too easy going at times in my opinion. He expected me to do wound care that made me queasy but I did do it and got used to it.It was as though he thought everyone was as used to yukky things as a surgeon. I think overall that he did a good job and I am doing fine now.I feel surgical competence is of utmost importance but it really helps when the doctor has a good bedside manner. Mine was always pleasant but was more or less in a hurry because of a waiting room full of patients and also because he was only in the Brooklyn office once a week. I would recommend him as being very competent and nice. The doctor and his staff were excellent with regard to getting all needed info to insurance company. I really did not have to deal with this aspect at all!
I met doctor Roslin on June 24th. He had preformed surgery (gastric bypass) on a few people I know. He came across very professional and curtious. As I was waiting to see him, I was talking to someone else who had a consultation. She was overweight, ut had been only since college, no health problems. He denied doing surgery on her. After that, I had more respect for my doctor. he could of easily said he would do it. He asked me about my health probems and asked what have I doen to treat them. He went over the operation with me and felt the lap band was the best choice. He explained it is a tool and it is up to the patient to make it work. I have emailed him and I have had immediate responses. I feel very at ease with him, and i am very happy with my choice so far!
His office staff have been very curtious and helpful.
Dr. Roslin saved my mothers life. My Mother wieghted 310 lbs. and was 5 ft 2 in. she had severe sleep apnea and copd. In a period of 4 months she was intabated twice, developed a eratic heart beat, was placed on oxygen 24 hours a day and was home ridden.
When we sought out Dr. Roslin we were not even sure she would be able to survive the surgery. But not only did Dr. Roslin assure us she would make it he also recognized the urgency and cut through all the red tape like superman. That's why we think he is a super Doc and why he will be doing my surgery at the end of June.
Thanks Dr. Roslin.
