My first impression of Dr. Bilof was, WOW he's young (and cute)! He wanted to make sure that he answered all my questions and kept asking if I had anymore. He's very personable, caring, sweet and gentle. Very soft spoken, so he doesn't make you feel uncomfortable at all. He is very knowlegable and smart, and proves it over and over again whenever I ask a question. The office staff is great as well. They all want to help with the process and are very helpful. Teresa, who helped with my pre-autorizations was terrific. She got everything done in a timely manner and always called me back when I called the office for her. Dr. Bilof's office is big on aftercare and support meetings, nobody has to worry where to go for support after the surgery. He's got a great bedside manner, he is concerned on YOUR comfort and is just a terrific, outstading and world winning doctor! I have a few friends who are thinking about having this surgery (since I came out with a smile) and Dr. Bilof is the surgeon of choice!! I look forward to seeing him when I come in with my friends.
My first impression of Dr. Bilof was that he was very professional and answered all of my questions. He made me feel very comfortable with him and he even drew a sketch of the procedure. Dr. Bilof's office staff were nice & pleasant, and his insurance coordinator, Teresa, was always there and ready to help in any way she could. I've only had one contact with him, so I won't know more until after I'm approved. Dr. Bilof emphasizes aftercare as being very, very important throughout your journey, which he has. He stressed the risks of surgery time and time again. I have not had surgery yet, but with his manner & professionalism, I would give him an A+. In my opinion surgical competence is a priority.
I had a consultation with Dr. Bilof on Sept. 13, 2005. I was lucky enough to have my good friend Sue along for the appointment. She had WLS in Jan./05 with Dr. Nusbaum and has nothing but great things to say about him. (and she has lost over 70 pounds)Unfortunatley he in "out of network" for Oxford insurance. However, I am very happy to have Dr. Bilof as my Surgeon. We had to wait a very long time to see him, but it was worth it. My first impression of Dr. Bilof is that he seems soooo young. I guess that means I am geting old! He took a lot of time to talk to me and did not make be feel uncomfortable at any point. He answered all my questions and then some. I am very motivated to have the surgery in early November and Dr. Bilof gave me a lot of information to help make that happen. My impression is that he is just a nice person, besides being a top notch Doctor. He does not have the arrogant air about him that I feel some Doctors with his qualifications sometimes have. Very refreshing. I felt confident in his abilities after researching his surgery history and that confidence was tripled when I met him. Now I am just waiting for Teresa, his assistant, (who is very nice, but seems very overwhelmed) to send my informaiton out to my insurance company for approval. That step seems to be taking a very long time. But overall and to date Dr. Bilof gets an A+!!!!
10-7-05 Progress! My information is being sent to Oxford today. I talked to Teresa and she has all the information she needs and will be sending it to Oxford today. Thank You Teresa!!! She advised me that I shoud receive a response from Oxford in about 2 weeks. Which is perfect timing because my final two Doctor appointments will be done by 10/19. If all goes well I hope to be clear for Surgery by then. I may be able to get a surgery date for the second week in November if all of the above happens without any "kinks". So far so good. Thank you Lord! Signing off for now! Jen V.
Dr. Bilof walked into the room with a relaxed and easy manner. he was down to earth and asnwered all my questions and did not seem to be in any hurry. His Staff is busy but quite friendly or maybe because I am otgoing and make people speak to me. Theresa the woman responsible for getting you approved via insurance company went above and beyond to get my son approved. I was approved same policy but for some reason his request was assigned another person who denied him. She fought for my son and he is now scheduled for October 4th! yeayyyyyyyyyy
Dr Bilof came to see me before surgery and after and even called to see if all was well.
He described the pros and cons again 15 minutes before they put me to sleep. Actually I thought it was funny to se ehim in Khakis, oxford shirt and tweed jacket and penny loafers the morning of my surgery. He looked like he was ready to pose for a Country Living Magazine! hahahah but he was cute.
I reaaLy did not care if he looked like my grizzly dog long as I came out of surgery alive and well. I DID!
Dr. Bilof was great very informative and I felf comfortable with him he answered all my questions without rushing. I feel comfortable about my surgery with Dr. Bilof, and Teresa WOW she is so efficient and helpful always with good attitude and willing to help and answers all your questions. Dr. Bilof and Teresa GREAT TEAM.
Instead of making my procedure hard they have help me to make it a smoother ride. I'm really excited they are GREAT.
Came home from my surgery everthing went well no complication Dr. Bilof was great. Felt I was in good hands since I met him very attentive and caring. Dr. Bilof I give you a 10 :) answer all my question and went to see me both mornings I was in the hospital.
DR.BILOF WAS AMAZING,WHEN I FIRST MET WITH HIM I HAD A LIST OF QUESTIONS,AND HE ANSWERED EACH QUESTIONS. HE EXPLAINED THE PRO'S AND CON'S OF THE SURGERY. I WOULD DO IT AGAIN IN A HEARTBEAT WITH DR.BILOF. ALSO HIS OFFICE STAFF WAS GREAT ESPECIALLY THERESA,THANK GOD FOR HER,I GOT APPROVAL FROM THE INSURANCE COMPANY IN ABOUT THREE DAYS,SHE HANDLE EVERYTHING. I WOULD RATE DR.BILOF 200%.
The 1st time I met Dr. Bilof, I thought he was very nice, attentive & professional.
His office staff is awesome, especially Teresa. She got this surgery process moving. Without her, I would probably still be waiting.
Dr. Bilof has a very good support meeting. There is a clothing drive, specialist come in. He has a up to 12mos program & a 12mos + program.
I have met with about 8 different surgeons & Dr. Bilof is the best of them~
Dr. Bilof is a great surgeon. He has a very calm, caring nature. During my first office visit, he went over everything I needed to know. I did a ton of research on the web about the surgery, so I thought I knew everything. He kept asking if I had any questions. He's very thorough and really nice. He came to see me the morning of my surgery, after the surgery, later that evening, and the next morning too, before I was released. After my first office visit, I knew exactly what had to be done for the insurance company and also what I should do to be cleared for surgery. His office staff is so polite and absolutely so nice. Yasmine and Teresa are wonderful.
