I had the gastric band surgery in 2007. Dr. Bilof's backstory is very touching (that he was a vascular surgeon and dissatisfied and frustrated that he could not impact his patient's health 20 years before they came to a vascular surgeon - so he stopped and was retrained in Bariatric surgery - and has never looked back.)

On August of 2011 - I had the gastric sleeve surgery with Dr Bilof and his team. I am looking forward to being healthy again. I was referred to the office in South Jersey by friends and co-workers. I had gastric sleeve surgery on 9/12/11 and - as of my testimonial - I am off all of my diabetes medicine and my cholesterol medicine. I have more ambition to get off the couch and do something! There are not words to adequately express how much the staff and the drs support you, listen to your every care and/or concern and the expertise and knoweldge they have.

I had gastric bypass surgery on August 31, 2011 and 3 1/2 weeks later, I am down from size 22 to 18! My knees/hips and back feel better. this is the best choice I could have made in my life. I have never been around staff so friendly before the GSBWC staff and Dr. Bilof makes me feel at home. Thank you for everything and getting my health back. No more aches and pains!

Dr Bilof did my gastric sleeve surgery on September 12 2011. I would definitely refer the office, the team and the entire group to anyone considering weight loss surgery.

3 weeks after surgery - and I can fit into a Large now. I am looking forward to continued success with my surgery and the work I have put in - and will continue to put in for my health. I have a comfort level with everyone on the team at Garden State and feel taken care of and supported.

Diane Duva - the Transplant Coordinator over at St. barnabas referred me to the office (and alot of the transplant patients are referred to the office - and I can see why). Dr Bilof is expert in his field and his staff is caring and attentive and supports whatever I need. My Hypertension is lower, I lost 20 lbs in the 1st 10 days after surgery!

I heard about the office through my insurance site. Dr. Bilof did my gastric sleeve surgery in May 2011 (after removing my gastric band - I was not getting the results needed and my health was not improved).

Everything bout the office - from Dr. Bilof's expertise and care to the staff and the support. I could not find anything I did NOT like about GSBWC. 6 months after surgery, I have lost 75 lbs - Off my Hypertension, Cholesterol medicine and my self-confidence is back. I am no longer depressed and I can happily get into a size 12 from 20/22. I can play with my children again and my joints feel better. I am enjoying intimacy with my partner :-)



I would definitely refer everyone to GSBWC. Through my ups and downs on my journey, GSBWC has always made me feel like a SUCCESS - even when I didn't think I was. Through their support, I now agree with them that I am a success!

Dr. Bilof himself is a great physician. He has been in the business for nearly two decades, has been recognized for his work, and most importantly, knows what he is doing inside and outside of the operating room. I had a lot of questions for him and he was very patient with answering them. Also, he did not hesitate to answer many of my questions via e-mail or schedule another face-to-face appointment. Weight loss surgery is a big deal and he gets it.

His staff are great people as well. They are very engaging and always have a smile on their face. Many people will enjoy that aspect but I was a little bit uncomfortable. I'm a very private person and sometimes it seemed to be over the top and uncomfortable at times, still, that is what you want out of a staff. If they weren't that way, you risk having questions not answered or important information missed or misunderstood. So while the friendliness was a bit uncomfortable I thought it was necessary and happy that it was there.
