Dr. Inman and her staff are wonderful. They are very personable and easy to talk to. Dr. Inman is an excellent surgeon and the after care and follow up is top notch. I am 1 year post op and would recommend this surgery and Dr. Inman if you are ready to make long term changes in your life and in your lifestyle! This surgery is a tool and Dr. Inmans office and the St. Vincent Carmel Bariatric Center will teach you how to use your tool! Success is sweet!

Very knowledgable, with a sincere desire to help the obese. I only wish that I would have been schedualed for an appointment to see her sooner then 4 weeks.

Dr.Inman is very good at what she does. But, I do have to say she has no bedside manner, she is very short and sweet with her patients. I know she is very busy but really did not have the time to discuss anything with her patients. Even when you call post op you deal with Holly, her assistant. When I went back in the hospital the second time, her partner Dr.Evenson took care of me. I would tell anyone, if you are set on having this surgery, go with him. He is wonderful. He takes time with you, he cares.

When I first met Dr Inman I didn't realize it was her I was talking to, LOL. I thought it was one of the nurses or something calling me back and when I asked a question I said "how does Dr Inman decide whether the patient is a candidate for lap or open surgery?" She said, "well I am Dr Inman," and she went on to explain how she decided and I thought oops, don't I feel stupid now LOL.
I don't think she has a real joking humor or anything, but she is an excellant and caring Dr and would do anything to help you when you are sick.
The office staff is very nice, they helped me get my approval, but once you do get your approval it does take a few weeks to get the call with your surgery date, but they do them in order so when they get to your file you'll get the call. All in all though she is great and I would highly recommend her.

When I finally made the decsion to have the surgery, my primary care physician referred me Dr. Inman. I've met her twice, but only for brief encounters. Not had a real thorough sit down with her. Seems very nice and personable. In doing my research about the surgery, I talked to two co-workers who had had the surgery...and they BOTH had Dr. Inman. Their opinions of Dr. Inman, and their results, are both positive. I feel comfortable with her.

My initial consult with Dr. Inman isn't until September; however, the scheduler at St. Vincent Hospital was very nice & helpful. She was able to answer the questions I had. I've heard good things about Dr. Inman, so I can't wait to meet her to be able to form my own opinion.

My first impression of Dr. Inman was she was very competant.
My impression did not change until I began to experience problems with continued weight loss.
I found her staff to be decent and to follow her orders.
I did not care for being blamed for my lack of weight loss. The immediate conclusion she drew was I had not followed the program or I had stretched my pouch. Neither of these were true.
I feel future patients need to make sure you ask plenty of questions whether she wants to answer them or not. She has a habit of walking in the room and leaving in about five minutes. Sometimes that is enough time and sometimes it isn't.
I feel she emphasizes aftercare from the dieticians and support groups. She herself does not appear to be knowledgeable about the dietary aspects of the post op. This makes the discussions when any problems arise rather difficult.
She has a structured aftercare program with the dieticians and support groups. However, I was told pre-op I would see her twice within eight weeks. I saw her physicians assistant once in eight weeks. I also had suffered a serious infection, but was told what to do and take antibiotics. I was not given a sooner appointment for check-up.
The risks of surgery were explained in the literature I was given by the bariatric center.
I honestly do not know how to rate Dr. Inman at this point in time. I have found another surgeon to take over my care. I feel my care is being handled much better by the new surgeon. I may have to have a re-do.
I feel surgical competence and bedside manner are important. You can have all the skill in the world as a surgeon, but be terrible personally with your patients. Bariatric patients have spent sometimes their whole life being accused of the reason they are over weight. To have your bariatric surgeon do this BEFORE investigating any of the reasons for the lack of a weight loss is out of line. The surgeon has to be willing to take the time to listen to the patient, answer their questions honestly and completely, and not put them on hold for months at a time.
My experiences were my own. I am not in any way stating this is how all patients are treated by Dr. Inman's office and Dr. Inman herself.

Dr. Margaret Inman seems to be a very competent and caring person. I didn't get to meet with her personally the day of my group consultation. However, I did meet with her PA-C, Holly, who was very nice, answered all of my questions and then some, and reassured me that I had made the right decission.

The one thing about Dr. Inman that did stick out in my mind was the fact that she was the first physician I had ever met, and I worked at a hospital for over 3 years, that didn't blame my weight on a character fault. She explained that the weight problem in America is based on genetics, enviroment, and personal/ stresses/ individual reasons.

Her staff is incredible, too. I call them all of the time asking questions and they have never made me feel like a pest. They always answer my questions and make me feel like I am Dr. Inman's only patient, which I know I am not since she does 100's of these operations a year!

I met Dr. Inman at my group consultation appointment on Jan. 27. I was very impressed with her and the straight forward way she presented the information about the surgery. She was very patient and answered all questions very thoroughly. I didn't speak with her one-on-one I talked with her assistant who answered my personal questions and discussed my case.
I only have a couple complaints. One is that it took a long time to get my consultation and surgery date. If I had known how long the process was I would have started a year earlier. My insurance company came through quickly, it was Dr. Inman's office that I had to wait on. The other problem was that I couldn't seem to get a real person on the phone when I called her office. I left messages but my calls weren't returned. I finally contacted the office manager and she was very helpful and concerned about the non-returned calls. But overall I would say that Dr. Inman must be very good or I wouldn't have to wait so long for surgery.
