As of today, November 11, 2014,I have lost 257 pounds, I think that I am where my body wants to be because, I have hit a plateau and I'm fluctuating back and forth with these 5 little pounds, So, what the heck, I'm happy, I'm proud but, most of all, I am "HEALTHY"...I am officially off of my Blood Pressure medicine, and no more diabetes meds. My BMI was 72 back in 2010, but now it in the low 30's...In Nov. 2012, I underwent THREE hip surgeries, 1 total replacement, got an infection so had to undergo the second one, then 2 days later went in to replace 2 parts of the new hip. I had to stay in rehab. for 6 weeks. Learned how to walk all over again because I had been in a wheel chair for over 15 years. Today, I Thank God and for
Dr. Margaret Inman for giving me a second chance to get it right and Live my life to the fullest. Dr. Inman is my "SHERO"
I shall forever be grateful to her for the rest of my natural life...Muah and hugs to you Dr. Inman.

Just wanted to update my profile...As of September 21,2012, I have now lost 230 pounds. I'm wanting to lose about 35 more if that's possible, it's going very slow now, but, oh well, I feel like a new woman. Thank you God and thank you Dr. Margaret Inman at St. Vincent Hospital in Carmel, IN. you are the greatest and you and My precious Mother who is now in heaven rejoicing with me are "My Sheros" for ever. Thank you both for giving me a reason to LIVE.

Today is May 6,2011, Just wanted to let Dr. Inman know that she is my "Shero", Dr. Inman has given me a new lease on life, I had my RNY on July 23,2010, everything came out just fine, this lady knows her stuff. Before I had my surgery I was bed ridden for 3 and a half years, and was watching my life just pass me by, I finally had to come to grips with myself and said, "NO MORE",so I opted to Live and I did what I had to do. Today I have lost 122 plus pounds and I feel so much better, I'm not done yet, but, I will get there with the help of The Good Lord. Those of you who are thinking of wanting to Live, I say, "Go for it." My Precious Mother died 3 months after my surgery and I know that I probably would have ate myself to Death through sorrow, but, Mother wanted Life for me, and so Mother I'm trying to do just that. Thank you for traveling with me to every appointment and for being and staying with me in the Hospital. I Love and Miss you so much more than words could ever describe.

I chose Dr. Inman, because of her expertise ability, her confidence, her track record is excellent and I have ALL confidence in God and her excellent team that All Good will PreVail. So Looking forward to "New Quality of Life" Ahead. Office Staff is very warm, knowledgable and caring. Aftercare is extremely important to her. She is very up front and informative about All Risk of Surgery and The Benefits of New Life as well.

Dr. Inman and her staff were always pleasant, caring, professional, and educational. I cannot remember one instance of being dissatisfied when seeing her or calling her office!

I had the DS in May of 2009. I am her only patient that she has performed an open DS on.

If you want the DS, see Dr. Inman.
If you want a knowledgeable surgeon, see Dr. Inman.

What she lacks is bedside manner, but her knowledge FAR out weighs her lack of bedside manner. She often talks with her eyes closed, either accept it or find a different surgeon.

I really did like her as a doctor. I heard so many say she had a poor bedside manner. BUT she treated me very kind. I always make light of a situation when I am nervous. She had said in pre-op that DS has a 97% success rate. 2% has major complication and 1% death. I asked her on Wednesday how many she has done. She said 92 DS's. I said, Can I get a piece of paper. I want her to sign a contract that she will make sure I stay in her 97% and not the 3% that gets screwed up or dies. She cracked up laughing. A nurse came in and said, "That is the first time I have ever seen her laugh, WOW".

Dr. Margaret Inman made it possible for me to not only lose 257 pounds from my highest weight of 405, but also made it possible for me to eat like a normal person for the first time in my life!
I started out with a different surgeon, closer to home, but he died before I had my surgery. I was just about to get set up for a RNY, which I did not want, and I found Dr. Inman. I got my miracle Duodenal Switch on February 25th, 2009, and with it, a chance for a healthier, happier life.

Dr. Inman is a compassionate, but no-nonsense surgeon. She will give it to you straight, no chaser! She makes sure you are fully aware that your surgery is life-changing, and can and will "let you have it" if you do a major screw up with your post-op care. I haven't experienced that first-hand, but I know other patients who have, and got it with both barrels!

I feel blessed to have found her, and I wouldn't have gone anywhere else for my DS!

By far the best surgeon in the state. Her bedside manor could be better but I din't go to her looking for a new BFF. If you are looking for the best see Dr Inman, if you are looking for warm fuzzies look elsewhere. RNY 8/27/12

I had my surgery years ago...April 4th, 2001...with Dr. Inman and she was so...nice and funny. She was just in the process of adopting her daughter and talked to me about that...which I thought was very open. But her and Rosie Jones were in practice together. Dr. Inman did the surgery and Dr Jones came to the hospital and looked after me. Back then they only done open which the only thing I hated was going home with the tubes. I lost 120 pounds then and I am up about 50 pounds which is not good and I know I need to get down. Wonder if I can have a revision? Overall I loved Dr. Inman and thought she was very nice and very professional.

When i was 23 years of age i was diagnosed with a severe heart problem and was told i would need a transplant. I had to lose the weight or i would not be approved for the transplant but was not allowed to exercise at all. At first I was to see a different Doctor for the gastric bypass. I passed all the routine exams but a few days later the doctor called and said he would not do it because i was a high risk patient. Dr. Inman stepped in and with in a few weeks did the surgery. I came through with flying colors. That was almost 10 years ago since then ive lost 200 lbs. and am in such better health the have put off the heart transplant. I'm a single mother and was terrified of leaving her alone in the world. Dr. Inman saved my life!!!

Although I didn't get to talk to her very much, and I do realize she is a very busy woman, she is a wonderful surgeon and I am blessed she is mine.
She answers questions fully and completely, and is kind and gentle.
Bedside manner is rather abrupt, but that is to be expected, I suppose, with as busy as she is.
I am very satisfied with my surgery and with Dr. Inman.

Jan. 31st, 2012 I had to have a reversal/take down of my RNY gastric bypass. It was all they could do. Said the ulcer disease would wind up taking my life. Said the reversal/take down is very high risk surgery....more risky than the initial RNY and very complicated because the RNY is meant to be permenant. I came through the surgery without complications. It is going to be a full 8 wk recovery. I am 2 wks out now and am in pain still. Upon discharge I felt like Dr. Inman was done with me. She had done all she could for me, I am not a success story, I am not a good statistic for her. I think it showed in her bedside manner. This makes me sad.

In May of 2011 I had to have a revision due to severe ulcer disease. Dr. Inman did a good job. I felt comfortable. I do feel that I am not one of her success stories and it is beginning to show in how I am treated.

Overall

I met Dr. Inman for the first time on June 13th, 2008. She totally put me at ease. She was very pleasant, and easy to talk with. She took her time with us and answered any questions we had. She didn't seem hurried or rushed. She said she felt I was a very good candidate for the rn-y surgery that I chose to go with. I am totally at ease with her doing my surgery when that time comes.
