Linda A. Patterson Bariatric Surgeon M.D.
When I met with her it was clear that she is a very caring and willing to take time to discuss the procedure. It was late in the day and she did not make me or my husband feel rushed. The Cleveland Center for Bariatric Surgery is supposed to have a wonderful program that encompasses all aspects of the surgery and after care. We do not get officially released until 18 months after our surgery. We have access to a nurse, patient advocate, nutritional support, support groups and a clothing exchange. She explained all aspects of the surgery to my husband and I.
1/27/02 I now see Dr Patterson at Cleveland Bariatric. She is very nice My insurance just approved me I am so happy, I still Have to lose another 80 pounds before surgery, but i have already lost 30 so it should be no problem. I am so excited I cant wait until April comes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ----------------------------------------------9/16/02 I had my surgery on July29 and everything went great.I felt good within a week and I really believe that Dr. Patterson saved my life.I am somewhere around 360 now and compared to th 505 I started at I am doing great. Thanks Dr. P YOU ARE THE BOMB!!
Dr patterson was a very friendly and caring person who addressed all my concerns
I gained more respect for her and her perception of how I as a person was doing
I can not say enough about how great and caring the staff is.They all made you feel as part of a family
NOT ONE THING
That she is a wonderful Doctor
She is very concerned about all aspects of your journey to a new you
Yes she does.
She covered all possibilities of what might or might not happen during and after surgery.
I would rate her Outstanding and have sent quite a few persons to the center already
Both were great, and what is great is the bedside visits to reasure you and to check your progress.
I had no negative experince's I feel a lot has to do with personal attitude as well if youare ready or not for this type of commitment.
I met Dr. Patterson at my consultation in June. She explained the procedure to my husband and me. I have been visiting the Cleveland Center for Bariatric Surgery web site for quite a while so I knew quite a bit.I was a little surprised that the doctor did not do even a basic physical exam before saying that I qualify for surgery. However, she did question me about my family history and my medical history. I do feel confident with Dr. Patterson. I liked the front office staff alot. LaTonya is wonderful!
I really liked Dr.Patterson right from the start. She explained everything to me and did let me know there was going to be alot of pain. Her whole staff were very friendly and helpful. She explained what things would be like after surgery, immediately after and in the future. I was told about the risks, which I basically knew, but knew;as far as I was concerned;there was a bigger risk staying obese. Her surgical competence is excellent, since I'm here to tell about it!!!! And her beside manner also good.I would rate her good, except somewhat rushed, but I understood this because I know how busy the Bariatric Center was and is.
Polite and friendly
Did not change although it's clear she knows what she's doing
Just o.k.
Nothing changed, she made me feel very comfortable and she answered all my questions without making me feel ignorant.
Ask her any question, she'll answer it.
Since I've only met her once (during the consult) that wasn't discussed too much.
Yes, the facility where she performs the surgery has a great aftercare program.
She was very straight forward with describing the risks of this surgery.
9+ out of 10
In a perfect world both would be great, but if I had to choose obviously it would be surgical competence.
My name is DJ. I just found out a week ago that I have been approved for surgery. I never thought this day would come. I am scheduled for November 1, 2002.
I am 29 years old. I have been thin all my life. It was not until around 23 years old that I starting gaining weight rapidly and by the time I was done I was 29 years old I have gained over 150 pounds. I have tried every diet known to man. I even joined a gym. Nothing worked. I then decided to look into gastric bypass surgery.
I found the whole experience very educational and interesting and pretty smooth. I went to a manditory seminar and met with a lady that did have the surgery. She talked for along time to everyone in the room and she looked wonderful. She supplied us with all kinds of grat information. I went to the seminar in March and then in April met with Dr. Patterson and the staff. They were very helpful and pleasent. My insurance company then required a Physc. evaluation and I did that in June. After that was completed, all my paperwork and approval requests were sent to my insurance company. I also included a letter of support from myself which I recommend everyone submit. They said it would take about 3-7 weeks to find out if I was approved. It only took a 2 weeks if that! I was thrilled. Then about a week after approval, Sherry Tuton called me and scheduled me for my surgery.
I am so thrilled and excited. I can't wait for my new life to begin. I just want to be healthy and happy. I think this will change my life for the better.
Good luck to everyone and please pray for me as I will for all of you.
