I have struggles with my weight off and on all my life but especially after my third child. This surgery gave my life back to me. I can do more with my kids and I am loving it. Dr. Schmitt is wonderful!! He is very caring and interested in the best for me. Everything was wonderful at support group. Support groups are so important. It is great to have people to ask questions.

I've struggled with being overweight all my life. Dr. Schmitt answered all my questions professionally and took care of any concerns about the surgery. I have nothing but praise for all the programs and people that I have come in contact with over the past year.

Dr. Schmitt is very kind, with a very competent staff. I would highly recommend him. I felt very comfortable with him. He would answer my questions in a way that was very encouraging. He is not egotistical...very genteel, very personable.

Before surgery I was a severe asthmatic. At the time I was 19 and in very poor health. My heaviest weight was 452. Since surgery I feel great and could not be happier. Gastric Bypass was the best thing I could have ever done. It changed my life forever. Dr. Schmitt is truly a blessing sent to me from God. He has such a calm, meek and humble spirit. Through him my life was changed forever.

I had severe knee problems and difficulty walking prior to surgery. I had tried several different diets over the years to no success. My brother had gastric bypass two years before I did and did great, so I decided to have it. Dr. Schmitt is very carinf and concerned. He explained everything that would happen and how well I would progress. ZHe did an exceptional job and still does on my follow up visits. I attended several support group meetings in my area after surgery and they were very informative. Several other attendees were also encouraged by hearing my story and hopeful they would do as well as I have.

I first met Dr. Schmitt at a Support Group Meeting required before surgery. He was very informative and made me feel comfortable about the decision I was making. During the meeting he provided a slideshow of basically anything you needed to know regarding the surgery including the risks and benefits. It was great and answered soo many of my questions without me having to ask them! The office staff is wonderful and helpful also and I couldn't have asked for a better experience so far.

I'm a 61 year old wife and mother of four. Ive suffered with diabetes, back pain, knee pain, high blood pressure. Im no longer on meds for my sugar, stomach, back pain and knee pain. My blood pressure in much better and I have cut back to 1 pill a day for it. Dr. Schmitt has been very encouraging in my weight loss program, I have no problems after the surgery. I feel great every day, I feel like a new person, Thanks to Dr. Schmitt and his wonderful staff.

I couldn't walk without having to sit down every few feet. My biggest fear was not having or finding a chair close by. My highest weight was 382 pounds. It caused me to have sleep problems, arthritis, weak bladder. I looked and felt like a 60 year old woman and i am only 49. The surgerywnet very well. I was up and walking every two hours,I didnt have any problems, never threw up once . I have had one episode of dumping. I have lost weight every week and i would do the surgery again.You have to follow everything Dr. Schmitt tells you to succeed at this surgery.

Dr. Schmitt is an excellent surgeon who has given me excellent personal support during this new adventure. I had previously met with a bariatric surgeon at another local hospital, but after meeting with the surgeon I was not comfortable with his support and the answers to my questions. A friend of mine is a patient of Dr. Schmitt and she encouraged me to visit the office. I would have decided to never have surgery, but Dr. Schmitt gave me the peace to follow through with the REALIZE band. I'm having my first fill today so hopefully I'll continue to loose the excess weight and become healthier.

I have slowly been gaining weight for the past eight years. After having my second child 3 years ago, the weight got harder to lose. Dr. Schmitt was great. I was really informed about everything that was going on. The support group meetings make it easier to get through the rough patches.
