I met with him today and I have to say I really enjoy his openess and honesty.Since being out of the hospital only 3 weeks I have gained back all 40 pounds of fluid I had lost.He put me on a all meat diet, and I have to make an appotment to have an upper GI and get a sleep apnea machine and if all goes well he told me a mid-January surgery date.Iam excited since Iam at a point to where it is a matter of life and death now.

This is a great man and a great surgen! He is really consiened with you and how you feel. He rely works with you and helps to ease any concerns you may have. I love him I trueley he has saved my life. He is part of the WLS group at Baylor University in Dallas TExas which emphasises that you must go to support group at the hosptal as well as follow up visits. You must also work with their nutritionist and have several sonograms. He also encourages you to jon several different groups online as well around you community. HE is very through and makes sure that you undrstand what could happen. I would rate him 1 out of 10. 10 being best and definaite 12! He has a very good bedside manner and a amazing surgical competence.

I first met Dr. Kuhn in May of 2000 when I was diagnosed with malignant melanoma. He performed 2 surgeries on me and has stuck with me through thick and thin in regards to that. He took the time to talk to my elderly father (who accompanied me) and explain in \"everday terms\" just what we were up against in regards to my cancer. rnWhen I talked to him about weight loss surgery, I KNEW that there was no one else that I wanted to perform my surgery. He is one of the most compasionate physicians you will ever meet. His knowledge of weight loss surgery and other surgical procedures is outstanding. During the past 7 years that I have been a patient of his, he has become one of my closest friends. He never gets in a hurry and will answer any questions you might have. rnWhenever I talk to someone that is interested in weight loss surgery or another other surgery, I recommend Dr. Kuhn. Since my surgery in September of 2003, I have moved approximately 200 miles away from his office, however, I still make the trip because of the upmost confidence I have in him.rnTo give an example of how he \"goes out of his way\"....I was admitted in June of 2005 to the rural hospital here for a small bowel obstruction. I had my husband call his office and ask them to let him know what was going on with me. During my stay, he called and checked on me and kept in constant communication with the physician that was taking care of me.rnHe is my knight in shining armor and there are not enough words that I or my family can say about this wonderful man!rn

I am not sure if it will be him or his associate, but I prefer him to lead in my surgury from what I have seen of him at the seminar, he is by far one of the most experience and proficient at what he does. - (7-11-07)

I just want to say that Dr. Joseph Kuhn is AWESOME!. Not only did my mother, my uncle and 2 of my aunts go to him, but now my best friend has an appointment scheduled on the 24th of May to have the surgery as well. He is very open and honest with his patients. He actually talks to you and answers any questions you may have. I think he is great. In my book....Dr. Kuhn is a 10!

Dr. Kuhn is such a great doctor. Its rare when you actually find a doctor that cares enough to contact you on Christmas to make sure your okay...3 days after surgery. His staff is excellent and Jessilyn the dietician is amazing. The people at the office saved my life by giving me a new lease on life....and I will be forever grateful. It was a blessing to find such a great team.rnrnI would recommend Dr. Kuhn to everybody.

I had already used Dr. Kuhn for hernia repair surgery prior to doing my research for my gastric bypass. I had visited the seminars for 2 other programs before I went to Baylor and realized Dr Kuhn was associated with their WLS program. Baylor's program is so well rounded I would have chosen it no matter who the surgeon was, but the fact that I could pick Dr. Kuhn just made it even better. Not only do I have a lot of confidence in his skill, but his bedside manner is quiet and reassuring rather than arrogant and egotistical. The only downside is that he can run late at times because he spends quality time with his patients making sure they understand the commitment that this surgery takes to be successful.rnI would recommend him not only for the WLS, but for any other general surgery needs. I feel very fortunate that he was recommended to me by my OB-GYN for my first hernia repair.
