Dr. Moran was wonderful from day one. I first met him at the seminar and he answered all questions and explained all of the surgery types. He was very patient and took his time. I went to the seminar wanting Lap Band but chose RNY after he explained everything. One week later I went for my first appt. and took my husband with me for support. Dr. Morans staff, especially his nurse Janell Poole was very helpful and supportive. Dr. Moran came in and met with me and my husband and answered all of our questions and put me very much at ease. He explained all of the risks. What I liked most about him is he follows his patients from day one. He is the one that see's his patients at every appt. He calls you at home to check on you after surgery. He has a great bedside manner. He returns your calls when you need him. He does emphasize the aftercare program for for success and safety after surgery. I love Dr. Moran for saving my life and caring about me. To him I am important and not just another surgery patient. This is how he treats all of his patients.
My first impression of him is he is a handsome dude. He did not look like what i would figure a obesity Surgeon to look like someone old you know lol with gray hair and all lol.. But he was very young and polite. Over time it just became a thought of well he seems to be about his business and knows what he speaks. His office staff was great. They are very attentive and always listening and taking notes on all you tell them to give you the best service. I am just getting started with him so the rest of this info will have to wait as we go along towards getting the surgery done.
I thought Dr. Moran was great! I went to one of his seminars in sept.07 and was very interested in RNY. I started my approval process in early Nov and had my surgery mid. Jan 08. He did a great job and his staff was so helpful through the entire process. He was about 1 hour from my house but it was well worth the trip because he is the best! I would reccomenf him to anyone.
I went to a seminar that Dr. Moran hosted in September 2007. I was immediately interested in pursuing the Lap-Band procedure and began checking with insurance to see if it would be covered. Dr. Moran was very honest about the surgery and gives the facts without sugarcoating. To me this is a life changing miracle but I believe he doesn't want others to think it's a short time fix and he stresses that in his seminar for lap-band. Dr. Moran's office was GREAT. The entire staff is helpful and on top of your case from the minute you walk in the door. They submitted all the paperwork to Aetna, called when I was approved and did all the setup for my surgery that took place on 1/16/08. I was able to go to Rex Hospital in Raleigh and everything went perfect the day of surgery. No complaints!
My first impression of my Dr. was that he had no bedside manner at all! He was all business and no frills, lol. Over time my impression came to change. I really appreciate him now. He went over and beyond for me. I had a ton of scar tissue once he got inside of me, a surgery that normally takes 1 to 1.5 hours took him approx. 3.5 hours! My abdomen had attached itself to my pelvic bone somehow. rnHis office staff is great, PERIOD. rnHe really took his time with me on my one week visit and explained alot of things to me...even told me that I was doing great. He's a straight forward guy but he does have a softer, gentler side... I've seen it twice! :o).rnI would recommend him to anyone.
