Kind, intelligent, well organized.
Impression hasn't changed.
Staff is great.
There wasn't anything I didn't like about him.
He's a good surgeon.
Strong emphasis on aftercare with a structured program.
Strong emphasis on surgical risks, but not in a discouraging way. Very straightforward about risks.
Overall, I've been quite impressed with Dr. Oldham. His reputation preceded him - great surgeon, nice person, good bedside manner.
Great first impression....just like you want a doctor to be...caring...competant...skilled.rnrnOffice staff was great from beginning to end. They had done this so much it was like breathing...it came naturally to them...but they realized it was all new to me, and they were great!rnrnAfter care program is well defined. The office and the hospital work in conjunction with one another. rnrnSugery risks were presented in writing, on video and directly one-on-one. rnrnThere is no other service that could have been as thorough as this group.rnrnI AM A NURSE. I SEE THIS FROM BOTH SIDES. THE UPDATE INFO STATES \"NO PERSON CAN BE THE \"BEST\" IN ALL ASPECTS\" BUT I MUST TELL YOU, I HAVE HAD NOT ONE PROBLEM IN THE ENTIRE PROCESS!!
My first impression of Dr. Oldham was that he seem very professional. He also seem to care alot about his patients and thier well being.rnHis caring for me surpass my expectations of him. rnThe staff at Georgetown Bariatric Center and the Georgetown Hospital was very nice and helpful. Everyone involved in my care made sure that I was well informed and taking care of.
My first impression of Dr. Oldham was that he was very knowledgable and professional and this proved to be true throughout the entire process. I can't say enough about Georgetown and Bluegrass Bariatrics! This is an absolutely phenominal program! The aftercare follow-up is great...the best that I found of any of the programs that I initially researched! Dr. Oldham personally went over the surgery with me and made me aware of all of the risks of surgery and made absolutely sure that I knew what was expected of me in order to have the surgery. The staff at Georgetown Bariatrics and Georgetown Community Hospital are top notch! I would choose it again with no reservations at all! If you are looking into having surgery, I would 100% recommend Georgetown/ Bluegrass Bariatrics. I would even go so far as to say that I believe you are making a mistake to go anywhere else! I have absolutely nothing negative to say at all about this program! Dr. Oldham is the best!
Dr. Oldham treated me with respect, dignity and true professionalism during my pre-op and now post op experience. Dr. Oldham did not rush me through as if I were just another number, but took the time to talk to me and answer all questions. Dr. Oldham is an asset to Georgetown Community Hospital and to the patients he serves so well.
Dr. Oldham was very professional and caring. He wanted to make sure I understand all the aspects of having the lap-band. Georgetown is one of the top programs for WLS in the nation as far as I am concerned. Their support before and after surgery is fantastic. They even have an online support group that can address any problem and just reading the posts will help on your WLS journey.
Dr. Oldham was very professional and answered all my questions that I had. He had very good bedside manners and treated me with respect. rnrnI highly recommend Dr. Oldham and the staff at Georgetown Bariatric Center to anyone cause I was in the best care and have done wonderful since my surgery on December 4, 2006 and I know other people will do great also.rnrnMelissarn(Mini-Me)
I was very pleased with my surgeon and his staff. I started the process of getting approved in Georgetown but later moved it to Mayfield, Ky where I had my surgery done. Dr Oldham and Dr Weiss for very polite and patient even when I asked questions that might have seemed silly or trivial to them. The staff at both places has been super. I have gotten to know Petra and Jennifer at Mayfield on a very personal level and consider them close friends. I truly feel I can call and ask any questions or get advice anytime I need it. Even though I can't make it to the Group Support Meetings in person they have a wonderful online support group that I have relied on several times. The thing I admired the most was they didn't look down or discouraging on you for being overweight and didn't ask for excuses on how you got that way. They truly want to help you get it off the healthiest was possible.
May 10,2006rnI'm actually not sure if my surgeon will be Oldham or Weiss but I'm not at all worried about that because they are both great surgeons. I will update more after my appointment.rnrnJanuary 1, 2007rnWell I had my surgery on July 5, 2006. I'm so glad Dr. Oldham was my surgeon. He is such a sweet person. Very genuine and upbeat. Everything went just as planned. The nurses that took care of me after surgery I just can't say enough about. The folks at Georgetown are 5 star in my book. I've never felt so pampered and cared for.
