Dr. Huse is a soft spoken man, seemed to be very gentle. After much research i chose him due to his extensive experience in this field. We spoke briefly about my comorbidities and weight history and he explained that he would do the open RNY on me. He explained every thing in great detail and i felt very comfortable with him. He was early the day of surgery and my surgery went very well. I had very little pain and only took pain meds the day of surgery and half the next day. I give him all the credit for this because im sure it was due to his skill and abilities. I made the right choice in surgeons and will use him again for other medical issues that will require surgery. Will be having bladder surgery Aug. 25th 06 with Dr. Huse as my Surgeon, He has been so good to me, I just love him!
When I decided on seriously checking out this surgery I researched several surgeons. I found that Dr. John Huse was far and above the best in this field. He actually pioneered the Bariactric Center at St. V's and is considered the leading Surgeon for those with difficulty or revisions surgery. I talked to several of his patients and then scheduled a consultation with him My husband and I were both impressed in the quiet, calm, open, honest, & Friendly manner he portrayed in our meeting. He was very knowledgable on the surgery and broke it down step by step. In meeting with him just before surgery, he put me at such ease and has a wonderful joking sense of humor. I told him my life was in his hands...literally and I was very peaceful about it all. Any time I call his office the gals there are so wonderful and make you feel like family. I know that Dr. Huse was the best choice for me and I would recommend him to anyone. I needed a doctor that I know no matter what complications I might encounter he was capable of providing me excellent care, and had the 26 years of experience to back him. Thank you Dr. Huse for being such a big part of this wonderful new chapter in my life! You are the best!
I think Dr Huse is a great doctor. I chose him because I knew a gentleman whose life he saved after another doctor had done a bloched up surgery on him and he was dieing. Dr. Huse did surgery on him and saved his life.
When I was in ICU and was so very very sick Dr. Huse kept telling me that I WOULD get better and I would thank him and he was right.
He was there to encourage and assure me that I would get better.
I first met Dr. Huse at his informational seminar on February 7, 2006. My first impression was that he was VERY knowledgeable about wls. He thoroughly explained what the program was all about and spent a great deal of time answering questions from the people in attendance. I did not find him especially humorous, or warm and fuzzy, but that actually works for me. I am not the type of patient who needs to be coddled by my doctor. I do not mean this to say that he wasn't friendly, he certainly was, he was just more businesslike than anything. Dr. Huse drew pictures to show exactly how the surgery worked and explained in minute detail what would be happening to your body. He covered all of the possible risks and backed them up with percentages and examples. He stressed the need for full adherance to the program and the willingness to follow through with his aftercare procedures. After the group part of the session was completed, my husband and I then met with Dr. Huse one on one and I continued to be impressed with his vast knowledge and willingness to answer all of my concerns without making me feel rushed. Overall, at this point, I am very impressed with Dr. Huse and hope to have him do my surgery very soon!
I really like Dr. Huse. He quiet, but thorough. He explains everything, and he doesn't rush you. I first met him for consultation, and I really liked him then. He explained everything in detail. All the risks involved, what to expect after surgery, and what he expected you to do before surgery, to prepare for a easier time. I done everything he said to do andI had no problems and I feel great. He is a great surgeon and he has ggret bedside manners. I owe my life to him for doing this surgery for me when I couldn't get anyone else to do it. I highly recommend him to anyone who asks about bariatric surgery.
My first impression of Dr. Huse was that he is experienced and very knowledgeable about WLS. When checking on me at the hospital he showed a great sense of humor not previously shown. The office staff have been completely professional and helpful every step of the way. There's really not one thing I can say that I did not like about Dr. Huse of his staff. Future patients should know that Dr. Huse and his staff are responsive, professional and competent. The main thing that I like about the aftercare is the availability of the staff to answer questions in a timely fashion.
Dr. Huse emphasized the possible complications of the surgery and I felt well informed when deciding to proceed.
I would rate Dr. Huse as a 10 and, in my opinion, he has both surgical competence and bedside manner.
My first impression of Dr. Huse was that he seemed like a very sincere, caring individual. He was very soften spoken, but very thorough in his explanation of WLS. I have only had my initial group consultation, & a brief 1 on 1 with Dr. Huse, but I look forward to working with him in the near future!!!
