First Meeting: My very first impression of Dr Foote was "WOW, someday I'll find me a handsome man like him!". Silly I know. He was very polite, laughed at my personality and the fact that the room I was in had hair (fuzz) all over the wall. He explained everything in detail. I asked if he could video tape it for me, and he said no:( That bummed me out. (hahaha) I was also very impressed with his answer to the question "why did you decide on this profession?" His answer was "do you want the short version or the long one?". Of course I opted for the long one. This man will be inside of my body, I felt that I wanted to know WHY he did this. His answer made me want to cry. I truley belive he is NOT in his field for the money, but for the satisfaction of helping others. The staff was VERY nice! I was impressed very much with everyone really. Down to the gal who signed me in! Dr Foote ordered a scope to be done (down my throat, eek!) and they called me a day later to help me set it up.
Very personable. Knowledgable. The staff from the receptionist to the nurses to the billing staff, nutritionist, behavorist have been great. Pleasant to work with and see each time. I would diffently recommend my surgeon and office to anyone who is interested. This is a very scary process, but they all made it run smoothly from my very first appointment to my most recent 6 month post-op appointment.
My impressions of Dr. Foote (MMPC Grand Rapids) are that he is a well educated, compassionate, and thorough physician. During my initial visit I was quite nervous but the friendly and open manner of Dr. Foote soon put me at ease. Like most patients, I had many questions and concerns. He took the time to address each one and completely went over the procedure the surgery entails, as well as the risks involved.
I found the other professional and office staff at MMPC also to be top notch. All are pleasant and very accomodating. My experience with both MMPC staff and Dr. Foote has been very positive to date.
My surgery is scheduled for July 1, 2005. I will update these remarks post op.
Met with Dr. Foote and his PA briefly prior to surgery. I say briefly because I had no questions and was ready to go. Visited by another dr. from his office day after surgery.
Dr. Foote was fantastic and the people at MMPC were very helpful. Dr. Foote even took a picture of my ovaries during surgery for me because he knew I had PCOS and fertility issues. It was so nice of him to take that extra time out during surgery for something he knew was important to me. The aftercare at MMPC is wonderful as well. I had a two week check up with the physicans assistant as well as the nutritionist. I had a 4 week check up with the surgeon Dr. Foote and at 6 weeks I have another nutritionist appointment as well as an appointment with the exercise coach. My overall rating of my surgeon is a 10 out of 10, I am very pleased with the surgery!
The first time I met the staff at MMPC was 3 years ago, the first time I went to their orientation to check into the surgery. They were very informative and helpful in trying to help me to get approved for the surgery. Their office is so fantastic! They are available 24 hrs a day, and are always helpful when I need a question answered. Dr. Foote is very professional, kind and considerate. During the orientation, they are very open about the surgery, its risks, and the benefits. They have a very informative web site. www.mmpc.com I was totally comfortable with the surgery and the hospital stay was great too. I was so at ease the whole time.
Dr. Foote was very informative and answered all my questions to my satisfaction. He seems to be very knowledgable and I believe we will have a great doctor-patient relationship. The staff in the MMPC is very nice and helpful and understanding. He explained the risks and aftercare of surgery to me at our first meeting. I would rate him as pretty great at this time. I believe surgical competence is better which is why I am going to Grand Rapids instead of Traverse City as I know the Drs. are very competant in the surgery and I am not sure the Drs. around here are.
My first impression of Dr. Foote was he is a very caring and sensative doctor. Dr. Foote was quite informative about the procedure RNY explained it in great detail.
Did my impression of Dr. Foote change over time? No
Dr. Foote's office staff are great, they also are quite informative and help with all questions that I have had.
What should future patients know about Dr. Foote, they need not be afraid of him, that he will take good care of you physically as well as emotionally.
Dr. Foote's after care program is quite structured, having appointments at 2,4,6 weeks, 3 month, 6 month and 1 year...
Did Dr. Foote address the risks of surgery...why certainly...I would beleive that anyone going to a surgeon and not getting the risk factors are walking thru life with blinders on....
How would I rate Dr. Foote he is top notch, I would recommend him to everyone I know that is planning on this surgery...In fact my husband is joining me he will also have Dr. Foote as his surgeon... :)
Which is better, surgical competence, or beside manner geeze what a question (lol) I would certainly hope his surgical competence is better yet I would hope he has a wonderful bedside manner...Guess what folks Dr. Foote does...I have difficulties in trusting most doctors...beleive me when I say I trust Dr. Foote totally....that he has the highest of recommendation from me...:)
