4-13-03 Dr. Foote did my surgery Dec. 6th 2002. I had it lap. I was back to work after 4 weeks. He Explained everthing to me until I understood. He was very good to my family also. A friend of mine also had Dr. Foote. She told me he was quite young but reasured me that everything would be ok. After meeting with Dr. Foote she was right. I felt very comfortable with him. He was a very compationate. The office staff was very nice only had one problem with a schedule. They forgot to write it in the books. (OOPS) He did not just tell you good things about the surgery but also told you all the bad things too. He was honest in everything he told me. Dr. Foote came in to see me and my boyfriend before surgery and after and seen me the day I left making sure I was ready to go home. The after care is a real good thing. They make sure you are doing everthing right. I recently got an oppertunity to be on a T.V. commercial with the dietitian. That was neat. I rate Dr. Foote a 10+ he was wonderful and I would like to thank him so much for giving me my life back. Thanks Dr. Foote!!!!
Dr. Foote is wonderful! I liked him as soon as I met him and I have never had any experience with him to change that opinion. His office staff was very efficient in scheduling many extra tests I needed pre-op and they got all the authorizations from my HMO without me getting involved at all. He was excellent at the hospital! He came to see me 5 times while I was in during my 3 day postop stay and intervened for me immediately when some of his orders for me were not carried out promptly. His office does have a structured preop and postop program, but I never felt anonymous there. I was always treated very individually.
You'll like Dr. Foote - surgical competence and really nice man!
My first impression of Dr. Foote was that I am older than he is...I'm 28 years old. Any nervousness I may have had quickly dissipated because the man knows what he's doing! Dr. Foote is kind, reassuring, and best of all, extremely capable. He puts you at ease and is very patient for any and all questions you may have. The nurses and the PAs are all wonderful too. Todd and Randy are both great. Aftercare and adherence to the program is an essential part of this new life we are creating and MMPC has all the tools necessary to help us be successful in our new and improved lives. I am thrilled that I had Dr. Foote as my surgeon and would highly recommend him to anybody!
Dr. Foote did my surgery 11/26/02. He was very informative and seemed to be very genuine. My experience has been very good. The staff at MMPC has been very nice in regards to working with on my appoinments.Everyone is helpful and attentive. The MD that is working with him is Dr. White. She also has a nice demeanor and sincerity that makes me comfortable talking about the smallest of concerns . In regards to the aftercare the Dr's and staff
have certainly made sure that I make my appointments. With my busy schedule I would be lost without their assistance. My overall rating for the surgeon,MD and staff is an A plus.I really have not had a negative experience with anyone. My only complaint would be the answering machine. You always get the machine when you have to talk to a nurse. It says leave a message and we will call back within 2 hours. Iam probally impatient but when I dont feel good 2 hours is an eternity and often to late to make an appoinment for the same day. They would benefit by having a nurse answer the phone and asess the urgency
of the call.
Dr. Foote was very matter of fact in his ability to perform the surgery. He was very candid and truthful about the risks. I truely like his personality. His front desk staff need to be smacked. I read someone elses views and they said they wanted to flick their noses and I totally agree. Now the nurses and dieticians are wonderful. They have been great to work with very understanding and helpful. I feel that his surgical competence and beside manner are great.
Dr Foote is very professional and caring. The office staff are very helpful and even though they are busy they always take time for me. They were very helpful in getting approval. I can't thnk of anything I like least about Dr Foote. He has done over 400 surgeries. He is very upfront about risks and complications, and answers questions honestly and without making you feel foolish. He emhasizes aftercare as the main part and the surgery as just the beginning. HE does have a structured aftercare program. since I am pre op I can't comment on his sugical competence from personal experiance. I can however state that he has a very low incidence of complications. I rate him a 9.
POST-SURGERY - Dr. Foote was excellent during my stay in the hospital. In the pre-op holding area, he came out and met my mom and husband and made sure I was okay with everything. He also came to visit me 3 times while I was in the hospital over a 2-day period. He was great! Very sensitive, very caring, and seemed to be very interested in how I was doing!
PRE-SURGERY - On my first consult with Dr. Foote, I realized what great bedside manner he had. I had never met him before, but was referred to him by a friend. I found him to be very understanding, patient, and a great listener. He takes all the time in the world to discuss your questions and/or concerns. I look forward to him doing my surgery.
James A. "Jamie" Foote is a new surgeon. He is taking his boards in October for the bariatric physician certification. Dr. Foote is a graduate of Hope College and received his graduate degree from Grand Valley State University in Human Anatomy and Microbiology before attending medical school at Wayne State University School of Medicine. Dr. Foote completed his residency in Grand Rapids through Michigan State University. He completed his fellowship in Surgical Critical Care at Spectrum Health through Michigan State University. He has done 100 surgeries with Dr. Scholten, and 50 with the practice he is at now, MMPC Center for Health Excellence. Although he is a new doc, he has made a committment to bariatric surgery as his career. He is confident of his abilities as a surgeon. He will have an experienced surgeon as a backup, either actually assisting, or in the hospital available in case he has trouble.
my first impression of Dr. Foote, is "he is really young!" that could be a good thing and it could be a bad thing. After talking to him, he does have experience with a very good doctor, but, not much experience on his own.
I talked to another patient who thought he was wonderful and his youth was a strenth, e was more cautious. Today I came home from my surgery, just 1 day post-op. Dr. Foote was great. He was able to do my surgery lap. and that made me very happy. He came to visit me 3 seperate times even though I was only in the hospital for 1 1/2 days. He was a very good listener, and I would recommend him to anyone who asks. He also has a good sense of humor, which I believe is important. It has only been 1 day but I can't believe how good i feel already. thanks Dr. Foote!
