he seems to be VERY busy. he also seems to be nice.
his office staff were really friendly and filled in while he was away.
what i liked least was he was REALLY late! almost 2hrs! butthe staff said this is typical for him to be late since he is also the main surgeon at the hospital.
what others should nknow about him is to plan on him being late.. bring something lengthy to read.
he explained aftercare breifly
he said the surgery is serious and that i will be a very different person afterwards.. alot of changes!
well, i find it hard to rate him being i have only met him the one time,so far,so i think it is best to wait until i know him more.
i think that surgeon competence is most important, it has to deal with my life, as for bedside manner.. i think it is important too, because you are at your weak point, and you are vulnerable. but if the doc isnt so great with this part, im ok with it.
He seemed every busy. Very smart man. Very to the point. YOu ask a question he give you an answer. I asked if I could die, all he said was yes.
I trust him. He's a surgeon. That's what he does and he's good at it.
Make sure you bring questions with you. He explains things but if you ask about things he goes into more detail.
His office staff is wonderful. They did all the work for me. If I call with a problem or question they help me right away.
They know their way around insurance people.
After care is really good. I live 3 hrs. away and I was really sick when i got home. I had to drive back up there and they wait for 3 hrs till I got there.
He does explain the risks. He doesn't sugar coat anything. His bedside manner stinks but his surgical competence I give a 10+.
He was wonderful and very very informative - His entire staff was very helpful - I highly recommend them, they go over every step of the operation - they tell you the good and the bad of what could happen. His office isn't so busy that they can't take care of your needs. THey spend time with you - if you call, you actually get someone who isn't in a hurry to get rid of you.
I am just now waiting for my insurance package to be put together and sent off - they do everything they can to put together the best possible insuance package so you get approved the first time out - I will keep you updated.
Great surgery - they all work together - Dr. Dabideen, Obeide, and Manasian - they really take the time with you - highly recommend them
Dr. Dabideen was very professional and knowledgeable. He was also very straight forward and honest. I found his staff to be very supportive from my first consultation through the surgery. They seem to have a lot of support functions in place including an onsite dietician, a registered nurse who had underwent this surgery and very supportive insurance help. The office was very clean and presentable.
Dr. Dabideen himself seems a little reserved and sticks to only the facts. But he also makes sure that all avenues are covered and he is very through.
The emphasis on after care seemed to be highly important to Dr. Dabideen and his staff. I also liked that fact that while you are in the hospital after surgery you will remain in the intensive care burn unit at Hurley Medical Center the whole duration of your stay.
Dr. Dabideen was very explicit about all the risks of this type of surgery. I felt he was very open and honest.
I would rate this doctor an 9 because of his experience and his abilities.
I have been very impressed with
Dr. Dabideen.I found him to bee very personable.
His staff has been very helpful also. My
nephew is a Circulator at one of the hospital
s that Dr. Dabideen works at. He had nothing
but good things to say about Doctor Dabideen.
He does emphasize aftercare and
they have a support group in both Flint and
Saginaw. He was upfront about the risks, but
knows I am a RN who has worked with the
Bariatric Patients in depth and already
know the risks.
I did go ahead and also see Dr. Bistolarides
at BTC even though I am very happy with Dr.
Dabideen, I have of late had a few
problems getting the staff there to return
my calls concerning my insurance. I am aware
however that they have been in the middle
of a big move and have evidently been a little
overwhelmed by the response that they have
received from the advertisements. Dr B is also
a wonderful Doc. Every thing is ready now,
I'm just waiting for a call.
He seemed a little cold and clinical to me. All business and not very friendly. But then again that is not a bad thing. The staff is wonderful. Very friendly, helpful and sympathetic. I was given all the information I would need to make my decision to go ahead with surgury and what to expect afterwards. I would give the doctor a 8 out of 10 rating.
