I am to meet Dr. Dabideen on 3/13/03. But I have read many good reports about him. I am anxious to meet him.Surgical competence is the most important but I really love great bedside manner as it makes you feel more
trusting of your DR. I have met Dr. Dabideen and he is such a nice pleasant person. He made me feel right at home and very comfortable in his office. I have met him only one time on March 13, 2003. The staff and everyone are so well informed. Dr. Dabideen takes time with you and you don't feel rushed at all. He is willing to answer all of your questions.I was told about all of my aftercare things I could or or couldn't eat and what the reactions would be if I didn't follow the plan. The whole office knows what they are doing. Every time Iv'e had to call I have never been made to feel like I was a bother.I must have called Lois a 100 times and she is always so pleasant.I rate Dr. Dabideen and his staff a #10+.

Dr Dabideen was very friendly and answered all my questions. He explained what was going to happen and what I should expect afterwards. The staff at Hurley was wonderful. They make you feel very comfortable at the Clinic but sometimes the wait is long - take a book to read. Most times the post-ops are answering questions to the pre-ops in the waiting room so it is like a support group meeting. I would definately recommend Dr Dabideen to anyone considering this procedure. He knows what he is doing and I thank him for giving me my life back.

My first impression of Dr Dabideen was that he was easy to talk to and was genuinely in favor or me having surgery. He took the time to answer every single question I had. Over time, this impression only became stronger throughout my post-op journey.

His office staff is very dedicated to this program, and also take the time to answer questions both pre- and post-op.

The only disadvantage I have encountered is that he sees patients in a "clinic" setting, which only is one day per week. Sometimes difficult to get appointments if not made at least a couple weeks in advance.

Future patients should never be afraid to ask questions. Knowledge is the key.

Aftercare is firmly stressed. You have scheduled appointments for visits, labs, and meetings with dietition.

Dr Dabideen is straight and to-the-point. He explains the risks right during the initial consultation.

He is the head of the Bariatric Program at Hurley Medical Center in flint, MI.

Dr Dabideen is a great surgeon, with a wonderful bedside manner to boot. What more could you ask for??? I would strongly recommend him.

I met with Dr. Dabideen on January 30th. My first impression of him was great! He really took the time to talk to my husband and I. He answered all our questions and was very nice!
I also thought the staff was great. Everyone was so nice to me.
While I was there aftercare the risks of surgery and peer support were all emphasized. I would rate Dr. Dabideen's surgical competence and bedside manner an 8 outta 10.
The only thing I would tell new patients is to bring a book or something to do in the waiting room. You could be waiting for a while.

My impression of Dr. Dabideen is that he very professional and almost comes off pampas. Have only met him once during original consultation.

Staff at Hurley seems to be ok. First and only dealings I waited in the office over an hour. I think there was a problem.

What I liked least about DR. was did not seem very empathetic to my situation he seemed rushed to get through the appointment.

He did briefly talk about after care. Maybe that will come with the upcoming visits.

He did explain the risk very well.

Although the DR. seemed to be stand offish, I am looking for a good surgeon not a new best friend.

Both are great but, I want competence

I was impressed with Dr. Dabideen and the entire staff at the Hurley Weight Loss Center. Dr. Dabideen was very direct and to the point, but that is what I was looking for. He was very factual at first and made sure that my husband and I were aware of all aspect (good and bad) that went along with this surgery. Bariatric Surgery is major surgery and should never be entered into lightly or used as an alternative for people who want an easy fix. He wanted to make sure that I was chosing a surgical option for all the right reasons. After our meeting, he assured me that I had made the right choice for me and my medical situation. I appreciated his honesty and support of my decision.

The Dr., dietician, nurses, and counselors worked with every aspect of my physical and mental preparation. If I was not mentally prepared for what "I" needed to do to make this a success, nothing they did would have made a difference in my life or how I approached my recovery. Before, during, and after my surgery every question, concern, and even second-thought that I had was addressed immediately and answered.

As a surgeon I rate Dr. Dabideen #1. His staff is first rate, caring, and supportive.
Everything I needed to succeed.

My frist impression was that he was a very caring Doctor. He answered all my questions. My impression of him after awhile was better after hearing from people in the support group talk about him in Flint. I know knoe if there is anything I liked least about him. if you live in the in Michigan around the (Flint) area he is the Doctor I would hightly recombened my friends and family members to go to him. The aftercare I have not when thougt yet. That there are a risk in any surgery. That the risk wasn't real high. I would rate him at a 8. The one I would pick both, srgical competence, bedside manner. Both are importence.

Dr Daberdeen is the most kind, caring Dr. His whole staff couldn't be kinder. They have a very thoughful waiting room, larger chairs, etc, and most of their staff have had the surgery. He is very thoughful, and since I live 3 hours away, and can't always get back to Flint for checkups he will call me to see how I am doing. The dietian is very kind, and compentent. They follow up with you, and provide a support group. The whole team aproach was very effective, and everything was explained very well. I couldn't have asked for a better Dr. The nursing staff was wonderful, this is just a little over a year program started at Hurley. I would encourge anyone to visit him. It was a good experience, and not as bad as some have had. I being older took longer to recover, and had a infected site, but was still able to return to work 4 days a week after about 5 weeks.Thank you for letting me tell some of my story. God Bless Susie

I went for my original consultation in June of 2001. He was very informative and straight to the point. He addressed the risks of the surgery very well. His office staff was also great. I would rate him as strong 9.
