HE GOT STRAIGHT TO THE POINT REGARDING THE SURGERY. HE WENT OVER ALL THE DETAILS AND COMPLICATIONS THAT CAN OCCUR.HE WAS STRAIGHT FORWARD WITH ANY QUESTIONS I ASKED. I AM VERY COMFORTABLE WITH DR.JOSSART AND I AM GLAD I HAVE CHOSEN HIM TO PERFORM MY PROCEDURE.
THE OFFICESTAFF WAS VERY HELPFUL IN ALL ASPECTS.IF I NEED TO ASK ANY QUESTIONS THEY WILL TRY TO ANSWER AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.
FUTURE PATIENTS SHOULD KNOW THAT HE IS VERY SERIOUS ABOUT HIS WORK AND THE CARE OF HIS PATIENTS.HE REALLY CARE ABOUT HIS PATIENTS DOING AND AFTER SURGERY.HE ALSO MAKE SURE THAT YOU FOLLOW HIS AFTER PROGRAM AFTER THE SURGERY.HE ALSO HAND OUT ALOT OF HAND-OUTS FOR YOUR REFERENCE.
LIKE I SAID HE GOES OVER ALL THE DETAILS REGARDING THE SURGERY AND THE COMPLICATIONS. HE IS VERY GOOD ABOUT THAT.
I WILL RATE DR.JOSSART AND HIS STAFF A 10 FOR BEING SO HELPFUL.
My first impression of Dr. Jossart was that I immediately liked him. There was no judgement, nor was he in a hurry. He took his time with me and answered all of of the questions my husband and I had. As far as I'm concerned, he's the best and I haven't even had my surgery yet! We met with him for about an hour and a half. I was very nervous, but he put me completely at ease. He has a great sense of humor. I didn't feel intimidated as I normally do when I speak to a doctor.
The office staff at LapSF is incredible. Their response time to questions is next to nothing. Also, Marilyn and Marsha in the business office are superb!!!
Future patients should know that if you want a surgeon who cares and one who is available to you for aftercare, Dr. Jossart is your guy.
The aftercare program is comprehensive. I was given a wonderful book that detailed everything I need to know before, during, and after surgery. They even include a list of what to bring to the hospital! The kicker is the Ten Commandments of Weight Loss Surgery, though--very creative!
The risks of surgery were definitely discussed in an in-depth manner--as well as a comprehensive informed consent form that all patients have to read, restate, and sign. It very much makes you aware of ALL of the risks, even hair loss.
I saw in another patient's post a statement that said "These guys walk on water." My overall opinion is not far from that, let me tell you!
My surgery is scheduled for June 21st and I will update this after I am up and around. :)
I am very pleased with Dr. Jossart. When I first met him he was personable and to the point. He went over everything about the proceedure and we decided on the RNY/LAP. Since I had all my requirements completed, I was shocked to learn that we would be scheduling the surgery right then and there. Dr Jossarts bedside manner is wonderful and even arranged a private room with a view of the Golden Gate Bridge!! He checked on me and made sure I was taken care of when he got called in for jur duty. The office staff is unbelieveable and has called me every day since I have been home to check on me....I don't have to wait for call backs or anything....Aftercare is very important, I recieved a detailed booklet with before/after care...they also have a website that you are required to complete on a daily basis so that they can monitor your progress.I would give both Dr Jossart and his staff a glowing recommendation and would refer anyone to him...
After talking to a friend of mine who had the DS by Dr. Jossart I decided that was exactly what I was going to do. She told me not to let him talk me out of the DS. So, I drove to San Francisco and met with Dr. Jossart. He sat down and we started discussing my options. I explained that my friend told me that you were going to try and talk me out of the DS, but that was not going to happen. He laughed and said that he did not have a problem with performing the DS, but only if I was sure that I knew exactly what the differences between the DS and the Roux-en-Y and that I could live with the side effects. So began our indepth discussion. By the time I left his office I had decided that I was going to have the Roux-en-Y. He did say on the way out at any time I could change my mind, but I was certain this was the right choice for me. I have to say that Dr. Jossart was never pushy or controlling. He advised me with thoughtful compassion and understanding. He made me see that the reason there are different surgeries is because not everyone is the same. At almost a year out and 104 lbs lighter, I would say that the Roux-en-Y was exactly what was right for me. The only problems that I had with the office is that Ginger was very forgetful and did not offer good support. I had to call and stay on top of every step. I felt pushy but this was my life after all. But that to has changed over the last year. At this point, everyone that I have spoken with has been very helpful and supportive and has been great with the follow up. When I have had problems, my calls where returned very promtly by one of the doctors. I am so happy that I selected this group of doctors to help get my life back.
Dr Jossart is the best. I thank
God for him.
Over time I still think he is the best.
The staff is number 1 in my book. Always ready to help and answer any questions.
He is very busy and i feel like i might wast his time..... Sometimes i dont ask or call becaues of that.... but thats really on me not him
He is direct and to the point.
100 percent
Yes.
Yes.
he is a great surgon and he really watched over me in the hospital.
both are great.
I met with Dr. Jossart at the Pacific Medical Center, where he and Dr. Rabkin pratice in San Francisco, CA. The front office staff was really nice and helpful. A big thank you to Elaine for her kindness, and Mandy for her cheerful voice. They are very busy at the office, due to them being on TV for WLS. Delphine who is a nurse walked us through the whole procedure, with pros and cons. They really know their stuff and I feel they are very confident. I totally believe the Duedenol Switch/ Gastric Bypass is the best surgery for me, because it will allow me to have a good quality of life with having good food choices. I also really like the fact that the hospital is right where doctor's office is, that makes me feel very comfortable. The aftercare program is very detailed and they truly care that we get great medical care for life.
Dr. Jossart now has his own practice and I decided to go with him because his office is really organized. Susana is his office manager and she is really sweet.
I am now 16 months post op and went from 232 pounds to 126 lbs. I went to see Dr. Jossart the day before my Tummy tuck and hernia repair and he was very concerned and caring about my new procedure. Thank You Dr. Jossart for being there for me and many others.
A special Thank You to Amy in Dr. Jossart's office who is so helpful and very kind.
Dr. Jossart and his partners specialize in laporascopic surgery and especially WLS. I found him to be very professional, to the point, but caring and personable. His office is efficient. They have developed a comprehensive web site, information booklet, post-operative guide, and other resources to assist patients. They run support groups in the San Francisco bay area and conduct regional information meetings at local hospitals. He's very accessible, either by phone or on-line, as are the other two surgeons in his practice, Dr. Cirangle and Dr. Feng.
He stresses long-term care. Surgical cost includes 23 months of follow-up. He reviewed all of the options with me and made sure to cover all the risks associated with each one. He went down an extensive check list in my patient booklet. Dr. Jossart stitches the pouch rather than staple it, saying that he has had 0% leakage with this method. His office was very efficient in terms of getting my insurance approval -- 24 hours! They handled the surgical scheduling. A plus is that their office is in a building that is connected to the hospital where the surgery takes place. Dr. Jossart's bedside manner is friendly. He didn't spend a lot of time during the daily visits in the hospital, but he didn't need to as I didn't have many issues. I sense that he would be as responsive as necessary to people who wanted/needed more interaction; I just happen to be very "low maintenance" in this respect!
After-care is structured but minimal in the sense that the first post-op visit is at 3 weeks, then 3 months, then 6 months.
Overall, I was pleased with my experience and would recommend him to anyone considering laporascopic WLS.
My first impression of Dr. Jossart was that he was extremely knowledgeable and confident in what he was doing. Not in an arrogant way, but a confident way.
I kept the same impression all through the procedure.
His office staff is extremely helpful and went out of their way for me.
What I liked least was that Dr. Jossart is always busy, but he always gets back to you as soon as possible whenever you have questions or anything that needs his attention.
Future patients should know that he attacks our problems head on with no sugar coating. He was very up front with all of the risks involved (and for me they were great because of my size). His competency as a surgeon saved my life.
Dr. Jossart fully advocates aftercare and follows up.
He does have a structured aftercare program.
He addressed the risks of surgery as they were - grave but not impossible. I had had a surgeon at Stanford University Hospital pretty much tell me that I was hopeless.
I have nothing but the highest regard for Dr. Jossart. I owe him my life.
Bedside manner is great and he has it but it's rushed. The competency as a surgeon was what really mattered in my case.
From my first consult with Dr. Jossart, he went the extra mile for me. He got on the phone while I was there with the medical professional who had rejected my request for bariatric surgery. He found out that all that was missing was my psych eval and it was not a true denial. Dr. Jossart is a warm, kind, caring, personal surgeon. I truly that he cares about me as an individual. Dr. Jossart gives excellent aftercare for one year. I saw him at one month, three months, six months, and one year. He has support groups in San Francisco where he practices and one in the North Bay in Petaluma. Dr. Jossart is an outstanding surgeon of great skill and excellent patient interaction. HIs associates, Dr. Cirangle and Dr. Feng, are equally patient oriented.
Dr. Jossart, is a wonderful doctor. He cares about his patients, and he impressed me with his skills and knowledge about obesity. I highly recommend him because he cares about you as a human being. He offers a support group that meets the last Thursday of the month which helps as you go through your journey.
Every thing about my health was covered before he released me from the hospital. He has given me a new life, hope and a promising tomorrow. He will always be part of my life, and I will never forget his goodness.
