My first impression of Dr Rod was that he was a cutie,(which is of vital importance :) and well qualified as evidenced by reviews that preceded him here to Cincinnati from his prior practice in Texas. Tehn the hospital got the COE award, so that was comforting. rnHis office staff, Especially Ms Peggy the Insurance Coordinator, was exceptional and honest and open about the process and the progress of getting authorization. She allowed me to participate in the process and was sympathetic when I needed it. rnI trust the staff at Deaconess Weight Loss Clinic, and I really feel like they are interested in helping others to reach the same goals that many of them have achieved, for the most part. rnDr Rod emphasized that aftercare and compliance were very important to his treatment program and indicated that anything less than my full effort would not be acceptable or successful. I believe him! rnIt will remain to be seen how the surgery itself will go.
Dr. Rodriguez and the staff at the Deaconess Surgical Weight Loss Clinic were great about expediting my surgery. I had been investigating bypass surgery for over a year with another insurance company and another center and NOTHING had happened! My son, who is quadriplegic, is starting law school out of state in August and I need to go with him to help him. The last time I cared for him full time, I was 10 years younger and 50 lbs lighter. So I needed the surgery drastically and I needed it FAST! The staff at Deaconess stayed right on my approval status and Dr. Rodriguez set my surgery date immediately once I was approved. rnAs for my surgery, Dr. Rodriquez was very thorough and informative at every stage of pre-op and post-op. He even took care of two ongiong problems I was having - my gallbladder and a hiatal hernia - for which I m VERY grateful. He explained everything clearly to me and my family before, during and after the surgery. I would recommend him to anyone!
11/09/06 Well tomorrow will be the last day that I see Dr Rod as he is moving in a different directions in his career .. I am going to be trying to find a new surgeon for follow up visits and stuff ... Any recommendations would be helpful ..rnrnrn06/09/06 .. I had surgery with Dr. Rod on 05/08/06 .. He is a wonderful surgeon and I would recommend him to anyone .. !!!!!rn
rn04/07/06 I met Dr. Rodriguez on Wed finally .. He really seems to know what he is talking about .. Definitely seems like the kind of person that would be strict, and would want you to follow the guidelines .. But afterall, this is a lifelong change, so who wouldnt .. *L*rn
rnOn the downside, he definitely does not give you any warm fuzzies .. Im sure that is on purpose, but with something as big as this in your life you would hope to have some sort of comforting feeling from your dr .. rn
rnBest about Dr Rod is his experience and knowledge of the procedures .. Risks of surgery were outlined time and time again .. You cannot be warned enough during the DAY long orientation about the risks ..
rn
rnThank goodness you get all the warm fuzzies from ALL of the people that are on his staff though !!! They were ALL very friendly, knowledgable and fun !!
rn
rnIn my opinion, I want the best possible surgeon for the job .. That is my ultimate goal, but some people really do base their decisions off bedside manners *shrugs* rn
rn
rn
rn03/14/05rnI have only met Dr. Dirk Rodriguez when he performed one of my best friends surgery .. I really liked him and I really like how he has treated her and the after care program that he has from what I have heard is really good ..She tells me, he is very strict, but fair and helps you in what you need to do .. rnrnCant wait to meet him again under my surgery care ..
'I was really impressed with Dr. Rodriguez' office staff and the orientation they gave. I knew I was going to put my trust in Dr. Rod from the first minute I saw him. I have already read a lot about Dr. Rod and decided he is a great surgeon. Meeting him was the final determination. He is as nice as all the others have said. So far
'I heard about him through ObesityHelp.com. Other patients had seen him so I checked him out and emailed about an appointment.rnrnJudy from his staff called within a couple of days and I set up an appointment for my initial exam for the next week! I'm hoping to have surgery soon!rnrnHe emphasizes after care very heavily because he wants his patients to know that this surgery is a tool
'Dr. Rodriguez is truly a one of a kind! The process of getting prepared and approved for Weight Loss Surgery is a roller coster!rnrnDr. Rodriguez and his staff are truly a class act! This website is too small for all the wonderful things that I have to say about Dr. rnRodriguez and his Staff!rnrnThe seminar should not be taken lightly...come with a serious attitude and ready to change you life!rnrnI have been through the very small hurdles of switching from Dallas Methodist to Rennassiance Hospital
I had the same impression of Dr. Rodriguez as I had with my Primary Care Physician. He is Very Busy, Very Active and is down to business. All of his nurses and staff are sweet and are helpful when you have questions. Christina is a very special lady who is not told how awsome she is enough. She does a great job with the insurance and has kept the ball rolling on my surgery. I like the fact that Dr. Rodriguez has a program spelled out in the notebook you recieve at your seminar. It takes you step by step through the WHOLE process! I actually had very few questions! I look forward to having my surgery soon and hope anyone that has questions will give them a call!
