My first impression of dr.roye was that he was really dedicated in doing the surgery for those who really want to change their lives forever. His office staff have been very caring especially his nurse Hellen.I thin future patients should know that he is very strict in making sure you do what you have to do after surgery.
When Dr. Roye came into the room my first thought was he is so young and my second thought was he is cute. Well then when I had my first consultation I felt very at ease.
My impression of him changed for the better right before surgery he came to see me and his demeanor made it seem like this was going to be a sinch.
The office staff is very pleasant and attentive.
I can honestly say that there is nothing so far that I dislike of the Dr.
You should know that Dr. Roye is very straight forward there is no sugar coating.
His aftercare is wonderful and extremely structured and his dedication to your healing process both physical and mentally is outstanding. He attends support group meetings and that says alot to me.
He addressed the risks and he answers all your questions. I rate him 99.99 % (just because only god is perfect)
Surgical competence and bedside manner are great.
He is the man!!! Thank you Dr. Roye.
Dr Dean Roye is a wonderful doctor. I have been working with him for over 4 years. I have FOUND him to be extremely caring for his patients. He is honest and trustworthy. He is also straight forward and and totally truthfull. Dr Roye is complete dedicated to his patients and to his pratice. He does emphasize pre op care as well as after care. He attends each month support group at RIH. I would rate Dr Roye a 10 out of 10. I have decided to have the GBP surgery after being a preoperative instuctor for the bariatrics program at RIH for over 4 years.
My first impression of Dr. Roye was that he was very caring and willing to listen to my concerns. The Uni versity Surgical Office Staff is very polite and profesional. You need to be very patient in the waiting room sometime you can wait uptill a hour to see Dr. Roye or his Assistant Helen. He laid out all the risks of surgery plain and simple right on the table no skirting the issue.
The first time I saw Dr. Roye was at the support group meeting. My first visit for the surgery was with Helen who was great. She answered all my questions, told me a was a good candidate for the surgery and said I would just have to wait for my approval from UHC. My first appt was 7/7/04. I have not had to much contact with his office, I received my paper work in the mail for all my testing. They always seem nice when I have an appt. Dr. Roye attends all of the support meetings so he is always there for questions about the surgery, before and after. I finally spoke with Dr. Roye on 3/7/05 after all my testing was done. He was very personable, honest and explained the procedure, risks and answered all my questions. I have heard nothing but great things about him. My surgery date is 5/5/05
I think Dr. Roye is a great doctor and I highly recommend him and the whole bariatric team assembled at RI Hospital. He was very upfront about my risks and the positives. His office staff is pretty friendly my only complaint was that they lost my insurance card which held everthing up for at least a month. I was totally unaware until I finally called to check up on my status. So far I 've only seen him post op in hospital my first office post op visit is March 29th. So I'll let you know. I think his competence slightly outweighs his bedside manner at the present but it really is early yet. He always has a attractive, ready smile.
Very professional direct and to the point. His knowledge of this surgery and of my condition comforted me. His staff is very professional and kind. He is all business. Dr. Roye is very thorough and very adamant when it relates to the preparation of this surgery. He will make sure he knows everthing about your current health conditions before performing this surgery on you. If you smoke, quit now! He will not even think of doing the surgery on you if you don't quit smoking! (I will always be grateful for him scaring me about my smoking). Yes, after I was released from the hospital, I met with him weekly (for 2weeks) and have a follow up appointment in December. Dr. Roye does not beat around the bush when it relates to the risks of surgery and will not sugar coat it for you. Dr. Roye is top notch in my book and I would highly recommend him to anyone considering this operation. You are in good hands. Surgical competence.
I first met Dr. Roye the day after he performed an open RYN on my Dad. That was in June of 2003. I honestly thought he was an intern, because my parents had raved so much about him, I expected him to be older. What a surprise to learn that the very handsome man standing on the other side of the bed was this amazing surgeon.
From my very first appointment, I knew he was the best choice. He is direct, honest and firm - he let's you know what the expectations are and how hard you'll have to work to be successful. Beyond the tough guy facade, I believe that he really cares a great deal about his patients and their success. I have never felt rushed with him - he takes the time to answer questions.
His aftercare program is incredible - you get a lot of support, regular follow-ups, etc. Not to mention that he actually comes to the monthly support group meetings! What other surgeon exhibits that much dedication to his patients? None that I know of.
There isn't anything that I don't like about Dr. Roye or his team. They have been absolutely incredible from day one and I wouldn't change a thing.
Dr. Roye was exactly what I was looking for in a surgeon. I am well-educated and have done my homework about this surgery and knew what questions to ask him. He answered them all perfectly. He has performed 100s of these surgeries, never lost a patient, and has been trained in excellent schools/hospitals.
