Carl Rosati Bariatric Surgeon M.D.
Dr. Carl Rosati is a very caring, consentious doctor. I met with him today and he spent the next 2 hours explaining the surgery, drawing a diagram of the procedure, telling me about the pros and cons of the surgery and answering all of my questions completely. I believe that I have the best possible doctor to do my open RNY. I would highly recommend him to anyone. His staff was also very curteous and helpful, Sally will call me with a date for my abdominal ultrasound and pre-op tests. After the surgery I will be followed for six months by Dr. Rosati and also by Albany Nutritional Specialists for much longer. I feel this is a very comprehensive program for successful weight loss surgery.
When I met Dr. Rosati I was initially stuck by his confidence and easy-going manner. He immediatly put me at ease. During the 2 hours he spent with me, discussing all of the pros and cons of the surgery, I quickly grew to respect and trust him as a surgeon and a man. He has an incredible amount of compassion for his patients, and treats them with respect and dignity.
Dr. Rosati puts a strong emphasis on aftercare. He feels that the surgery itself is only a small part of the whole process, it's how we care for ourselves post-op that determines how successful we are. This surgery is a tool, it's still up to us to make the right choices regarding diet and exercise. He requires a follow-up every six months for two years after surgery, but we will see our primary physician or nutritionist more frequently.
Considering my experience with Dr. Rosati, and hearing the praise from countless others who have been fortunate enough to have him as their surgeon, I feel that his surgical competence is unequaled. As for his bedside manner, once again you are comforted by his level of caring and compassion.
I would recommend Dr. Rosati, without a moments hesitation, to anyone considering gastric by-pass surgery.
Dr. Rosati is the BEST surgeon in the universe!!! I love him, he's kind, gentle, has a great bedside manner and there isn't anything negative a person could say about him..except maybe that he's married...lol.
Also, he made my incision only 5 inches long, and so far it looks good and clean, I think it will heal beautifully. THANK GOD FOR DR. ROSATI. I highly recommend him.
He was wonderful. Very caring.
It only got better with time.
Could be more like him. Not at all
caring.
He refers you to Clinical Nutrition for
aftercare. He spent an hour before
the surgery explaining everything.
He was very blunt about what could
happen during and after surgery.
I would rate him very highly.
Mainly surgical competence, but Dr. Rosati
had both.
I have only met Dr Rosati once. In that visit I was very comfortable with him. He was very professional and informative as to what to expect if I chose this surgery. He did not assume that I was going through with this, but HE gave me a month to think about it before he would operate. I found Dr. Rosati to be caring and gentle and trust in him. I will be able to post more after the 30th of January. That is my surgery date.
Dr. Rosati is very straightforward and helpful in terms of explaining the procedure (He is also chief of trauma, so some times, surgery is delayed due to emergencies).
He was great in the hospital, and came to visit me 2 or 3 times (vs.interns).
Office staff is also very professional.
Aftercare has only been one visit -- to remove staples. Patient follow-up is mostly with the clinical nutrition group at Albany Med. They really work together as a team -- which is great. Also, there is a Thursday night support group, which Dr. Rosati keeps in touch with.
Overall, I'd rate him as very good.
I just had my visit with him and his record is excellent and his way of explaining things was wonderful he took 1 1/2 hrs with me just explaining the surgery and not once did I feel rushed.
My first impression of him just has improved over time.
the office staff was wonderful any time I called they would call back right away also very pleasant and professional. They called me before my insurance co to let me know surgery was approved
you have to go through Dr Howard before you can have an appt with him so by the time you get to him you are ready to go and I think some of the personalization gets lost due to that
it takes a while to get in with him
stresses it very much so they have me scheduled out for 2 yrs of follow/up with Dr Howard the one who got me started and sent me to Dr Rosati
yes definitely
he explained in great detail the risks and when all was done I fully understood what the risks were for this surgery as well as how they compare to any other surgery
A very caring, compassionate and understanding individual who knows the needs of his patients and can take care of them.
Both were superb. I do not even have a scab on my incision, no drainage at all and very little pain at the incision site. Everything he told me prior to surgery was absolutely correct he didnt miss anything
